Well after the meeting with rick andrea did want to leave with them. But hershel told her that if she leaves then it’s “settled”, meaning the war is on. Her going back with the governor was the only shot of the deal happening. Obviously we know that the governor would have never held up the deal but her leaving would have just thrown fuel into the fire. She has still been dumb but she’s not a cruel person and is very good-natured. She’s been for peace this entire time her flaw is that she’s incredibly naive.

My personal take on Andrea staying at Woodbury is that she has a desire to feel needed. We see it all the time and it leads to the dumbest actions, her trying to prove herself over and over trying to feel useful leading to more examples of her not being capable. The Governor constantly pushes this narrative on her that the people need her, and maybe they do, maybe they don't but in her head she definitely thinks they do. It's a selfish longing to feel important in a world where people are just trying to survive, which leads to you choosing someone like the Governor over a group of friends who have had your back from day one.

Agreed. Also worth noting that shes desperately been looking for a reason to live in this world, and to feel needed and to have some agency in her life. Woodbury/the Govenor is basically flashing all of these things in front of her, which makes her naivete a lot more understandable/realistic. Still dumb decisions made, but very human as well
