It was censored in the Nel fight too. Nel put a giant hole in his torso with her release form. She was actually steam rolling him, but in the anime it makes it unclear if she was even doing damage.

also just gonna say for info, soul reapers have insane durability, so even if you see fatal wounds, they might not die like us humans, it is more of their spiritual energy exhaustion with prolonged fatal wounds, if healed at the right time, kido helps in recovery pretty easily, im saying this just in case you wondered so far how did people like hinamori survive in ss arc

Mckay you seem to have missed some dialoge. While Urahara is the GOAT that made many of these things possible Kenny litterally says "old man gave Urahara specific orders". It was Yamamoto that ordered Urahara to send the 4 captains and made every other officer stand ready at the fake karakura town.

Nnoitra is actually such a cool villain, glad you guys loved him so much :) Villains are often one of the most praised things in bleach, and while alot of people think that is only Aizen its got so much more to offer.

Remember that Urahara said at the end of the first arc that a soul gets stronger from near death experiences, so Ichigo is much stronger now than he was when he fought Ulquiorra, even without training.

You have seen this bakudo 77 Tenteikūra in soul soceity as well. Its what Isane (lieutenant to Unohana who is here in hueco mundo) did when they found out Aizen was a traitor and they had to tell everyone.

As much as we dunk on fillers, you should honestly go back and watch some after the series is done. There are 2 filler arcs that the Bleach community generally agrees are very good, and many reactors actually go back and watch them. One of them has better animation than majority of the series, and the other is semi-canon because Kubo liked the ideas so much that he incorporated some of them into the story later on.

The powerscaling is very interesting!! Obviously you dont know the power level of the villains, but in bleach theres a lot of characters that we havent seen tested Currently in the manga were in chapter 315 Bleach has around 700 chapters. We're approaching the middle of the story and theres still a lot to see about our characters powers. Theres a lot of captains who havent shown their bankai and some their shikai ex: ukitake and kyoraku. We know their form but not their powers In the espada theres a ranking from 1 to 10, but its hard to know how much of a difference there is between the numbers Theres also the vasto lordes who probably are higher ranked Theres 13 captains but not all of them are in the same realm of power, like the espada. An example of this is yamamoto who in ss kyoraku wanted to "fight" with him away from the mountain knowing that he'd destroy everything with his power. There were captains in that hill, byakuya and ichigo were fighting there and later used their bankai's but apparently yamamoto just using shikai would obliterate them all Just crazy!! Theyre the same in title, not the same in power, similarly to the espada And then theres kisuke urahara, former captain, we saw his shikai against yammy but he was toying with him We've never seen him fight seriously We've never seen a lot of characters fight seriously Another thing is that in bleach power levels arent everything You have ichigo and kenpachi that have simpler powers and what matters most is their strenght But then theres characters who depending on their power and their opponents power can either win or lose, even if they have weaker stats A strong character can win against stronger characters and lose against weaker characters Like rock - paper - scissors A good example is in ss where izuru fights matsumoto Her power is the perfect counter against his swords power Sorry for the rant Feel free to comment Spoilers up ahead: From the manga next is turn back the pendulum which will give them a lot of answers Its a bit abrupt but necessary to give us a break from the constant fighting before we commence the war

Nnoitora is definitely one of those characters that most watchers can only really appreciate on the second watch through. He's a horrible, sexist monster, but he's a monster fueled by a crippling inferiority complex born from people constantly pitying him. An argument can even be made that Nel herself is partially responsible for shaping Nnoitora into the monster he is since she was also talking down to him and telling him he was weak. Obviously this doesn't excuse his terrible actions or the fact that he was an asshole from the start, but he's a much more complex character than people give him credit for. He's not just an Arrancar version of Kenpachi, he's a bitter, wounded person that covers up his insecurities with a vile exterior. The short flashbacks we get really show us how crippling his inferiority complex is and how his despair has driven him to long for death in battle.

The Soul Society arc team included him, Kon, Ichigo's sisters, Ururu, and Jinta. The Arrancar arc team included him, Kon, Ururu, Tatsuki, Keigo, and Chizuru.

I second a binge. I hope the Geks understand that it’s not all about being greedy or wanting to catch-up/get to TYBW. We enjoy it when you guys enjoy Bleach. We don’t enjoy it when….well you get the point. Knowing 100% that you’re going to roll your eyes a few times and be bothered by the pacing and gags. …Knowing that’s going to happen week after week is such a downer. Jack looked like he was done with the show several times throughout this arc. Until the last arc of the OG anime (not TYBW), Bleach has the problem that most of the good Netflix documentaries series have. They have 5 episodes worth of content stretched over 8 episodes. No single episode can be cut from the watchthrough when shows are directed like this unfortunately.

Sadly this arc is similar to Hueco Mundo where there's multiple episodes and scenes that aren't filler but feel like filler, because of the "comic relief" battles. My take is when it's clearly in one of the side circus acts to just watch it all through to get it done and out of the way instead of having the 2 drops in a week end up being stuff like.... well..... you'll see.

Yeah, the Arrancar arc is a long arc. The Bleach community has split the arc into sub arcs. So far we have had the Arrancar Invasion (sub) arc, the Hueco Mundo (sub) arc, and you'll soon be starting the Fake Karakura (sub) arc. However, the Turn Back the Pendulum (sub) arc comes first. The Arrancar arc gets better with every sub arc. This is why I dont trust a single person who says "Bleach fell off after the Soul Society arc."

I remember reading an interesting analysis on Nnoitora as a character and one of the main standouts was that everything he does is driven by deep insecurity. He hates the weak but hates himself more. He feels like prey but forces himself to act like the ultimate predator. Hence the release callout "Prey" which has a double meaning which I love.

Ehh idk about not nearly as bad. The "Fierce Fight" arc that starts with Ichigo fighting the former Espada where baby Nel drools on his face and leads to the adult Nel reveal was only 15 episodes, and half were comic relief battles with Nel's buddies, Ishida, and Renji. The arc leading to the next payoff (obviously not saying the arc title) is...... 12 episodes, and once again half are comic relief battles. Seems pretty similar to me.

To be fair the fillers really didn't bother me at all. It was pretty funny but I will say the type of humor you would see in those episodes is like watching dondachakka and pesche skits. I'm so happy we're here cause we're so close to a 1000-year blood war now. I cannot wait till you guys start that arc. Cannon, even if you close your eyes, you still have 4 other senses that Aizen can control with his sword.

I miss the atmosphere of side eyeing the camera when you see foreshadowing for something that hasn’t been introduced to the audience yet. You’ll also appreciate all the setup Kubo does with the story in a way that’s only possible with a re-watch(which ain’t ever happening). Then you can interact with us and weed out the hindsight merchants yourself.

Great fight and end to this section. I really don't think this mud was that bad tho. Bad pacing and misplaced humor for sure, but there were a lot of great episodes mixed in and "bad" episodes only had at most half of the episode that were meh. This section had Rukia's espada fight, Ichigo vs Grimmjow, the brief Ichigo vs Ulquiorra, Kenny vs Nnoitora, Nel's reveal, and Mayuri vs Szayelaporro. A lot of great stuff that more than makes up for the meh stuff in my opinion.
