All those weird cuts you see in the episodes are not commercial breaks, they probably come from the website you are using. Maybe because of copyrights issues. The only commercial break are when we see ichigo's mask.

Kubo wanted to name it Black or White, but he thought those sounded too generic, so he named it Bleach. Both because bleach purifies things (like shinigami do) and because bleaching some things can turn them white

No, there a reason Aizen calls it “Complete Hypnosis” because it can’t be detected. There’s never been a time where someone can see through it, otherwise Shinji would’ve seen through the random dude following him around for the past month as Aizen. 😂 That veil he pulled was a kido spell.

Don’t know what exactly it is, but Tōsen cutting everyone is the “infection” method that caused the Hollowification. All the people that were weaker than lieutenants can’t survive the process though, so they disappeared.

Why do the vizards not use their shikai or bankai?? 1: they are fighting their friends so they're trying to do the least amount of damage. 2: and the most important one for me, this is THE PAST, We know aizen gets away somehow because hes a captain in ss We know kisuke was a captain and for some reason hes not anymore We know the vizards get hollowfied and end up in the human world. We know the outcome, we just don't know how it happened If any of them used their shikai, in the back of our minds we'd think, its cool but they have to lose It's better to save it when it actually matters, when we get to the present. For example if aizen used bankai it would be super hype, BUT it would be in a flashback arc where we roughly know the end and where theres not a lot of stakes. Spoilers: Regarding Aizen's bankai, me personally i don't think he has one. Maybe after being in the muken he obtained it, but not after it wouldn't make sense for his character Ep 47 of tybw showed aizen's poem, so theres's a real possibility that if he got bankai after being defeated for him to use it against yhwach. While we're on that matter, i think a lot of fake bleach fans wont entirely like ep 48, cause they expect it to be aizens focused with fight and aura. There's gonna be aizen, for sure but we still have the fullbringers and the dads to show up I think the first have will be where the fullbringers appear and tsukishima repairs ichigos sword, and possibly where isshin talks to his son and overcomes the despair he felt, also ryuken and ishida need to talk and we need to know how uryu survived the awswalen and the silver arrow. The second half its probably where the fight begins and the episode ends with ichigo going through the portal 49 will be the final fight and 50 the epilogue

The Shinji / aizen interaction is so interesting to me. Aizen says to Shinji that because he kept him at arms length he did not understand him enough to realise his true plans. However at the end of soul society, Aizen says to momo ‘Admiration is the state furthest from understanding’. So in this case, momo got too close to him and idolised him too much to see beyond her ideal version of the perfect captain Aizen. So it’s kinda like you can’t get too far or close to him they all end up badly which is such an interesting philosophy

It makes sense for you to question ichigos origins, just remember were about half through bleach, the big most important questions get answered on the latter stages, as every story does while giving crumbs and clues until the reveal

Answering a couple of questions: 1. "Why aren't they using their Shikai/Bankai" - easiest answer is that they don't want to hurt Kensei. They're still hoping they can turn him back. We're talking about Captain level powers; they could kill Kensei here if they really tried. They want to restrain him. 2. "Why would the level 99 Kido take them with it?" 90's level Kido is extremely difficult to control. Remember when Aizen used one against Komamura, even someone as powerful as Aizen was barely able to draw out a fraction of its power without an incantation. Hachi is strong, but that Bakudo could've backfired and sealed all of them if he wasn't careful. 3. Aizen explains the only weakness of Kyōka Suigetsu when Unohana catches him in Central 46; in order to hypnotize someone, he has to release the sword in front of them. Remember Isane, Unohana's lieutenant; she mentions that Aizen gave everyone a "demonstration" of his release a while back, this is the type of convenient excuse a captain can come up with to hypnotize everyone. This isn't spoiler information since it's explained directly in the show a long time ago. At some point he must have released it in front of Shinji, which would make sense as his Captain.

Sorry, one more. You've now seen all the Captains and Lieutenants from 100 years ago with the exception of Squad 10. Kubo has never revealed who the Captain of Squad 10 was at this time. So we know there was a Captain or vacancy of Squad 10, then an unknown Captain before Hitsuguya, and then Hitsuguya is the current Captain. Everyone else has been revealed along with their current counterparts after the visored are obviously exiled.

Generally speaking, the power of a spell in Bleach is equivalent to someone's spiritual pressure and control to shape it during the time of casting. The higher level of the spell, the more difficult it is to cast. Higher level spells also require more amounts of spiritual pressure. To make it easier, reciting the full incantation is the way to go. Also, if you can cast a high number spell AND add the incantation to it, the spell you cast becomes even stronger. Usually, if you can cast a spell without incantation you do it to save time or when you're very confident the spell without incantation is gonna be enough to do whatever it does. Hachi used a level 99 bakudo here without incantation and that's why you see someone like Byakuya throwing around lower and middle level spells without incantation like it's nothing.

What classifies as a “rat” for you guys? I noticed you called Tessai (Urahara’s shop assistant in the present) and Hachi rats when they walked in. I thought you guys used it for characters with bad personalities or bad guys, so I’m confused here.

A small detail that you might’ve missed is that Bakudō 99 already appeared early in the series during Ichigo’s Training with Urahara, Tessai used it on Ichigo to stop him from hollowifying, that also foreshadows Tessai being revealed as the former Kidō Commander in the last episode. Those are the small details the series just throws and people forget about.

Sorry, can't help myself - a couple more tidbits. None of these are hindsight because it's all stuff that's already been revealed. Just stuff that's connecting now. When Ichigo is regaining his shinigami powers and turning into a hollow, Tessai uses Bakudo 99 Parts 1 & 2 on Ichigo. Hachigen uses part 1 against Kensei. Probably learned it from Tessai as his Captain! Gin is revealed to have graduated the Soul Reaper academy in just 1 year as a prodigy, cool parallel to Hitsugaya who is also a similar prodigy, and they're both connected to Matsumoto in some way; we only have seen glimpses of Rangiku's relationship with Gin up to this point. Obviously we know these characters survive, and all settle down in/around Karakura Town. That means at the start of the story there are 12 captain level characters just chilling in Karakura Town (8 visored, Urahara, Tessai, Yoruichi, Isshin)

To be fair, admiration and closeness are 2 different things. You can be best friends with someone and call them out for their poor actions/behavior while remaining close. However admiration is closer to worship, and if you strongly admire/idolize someone close to you, especially because they are close to you, they can convince you to do anything. God is the only individual worth worship because of his perfection, worship and admiration of a man leads to a snare. Basically gotta keep your eyes open to the truth and be honest with yourself. Momo worshipped/idolized Aizen. Shinji kept him at arm’s length

It depends on how far they diverge and how rich in detail the book is. For example when i started reading a game of thrones, literally from the first chapter my mind was set free to imagine away. It was so rich in details and some were so different to the series that it bypassed everything i thought i knew. So instead of being locked into what the series depicted i now had something to compare the book to, in real time. It adds an extra layer of comparison and critique to the experience. And the more it diverged the more room for comparison and thought was made. So instead of diminishing the reading experience it actually enhanced it.

You wouldn't care about something like that if you went through the effort of reading a book from start to finish. Even avid readers will stop reading a book of if they don't like it. Not being able to envision a character means the storytelling is either trash and/or it means the reader just doesn't like the story to begin with (which would mean a movie could only make the story tolerable at best). Reading the book after watching the movie is an experience that will always be better than vice versa. Just a chapter of reading takes more effort and focus than pressing play on a video. From the reader's POV, a book that is "worthy" enough for that effort will make reading more enjoyable because you're going out of your way to experience it in a different medium that takes more concentration.

I agree with Carter completely, reading the book after the show is how you get twice the enjoyment. I watched GoT and loved it, then read the book and loved it, but the rewatch of GoT just didn't hit. All I could see it for was an inferior product compared to the books, not it's own thing. I do disagree with this slightly for manga though, reading bleach was great, but nothing can compare to when One starts playing as Ichigo saves Rukia.

I see both sides of the argument but personally I prefer reading the book first. It’s rare that I’ll prefer an adaptation over the source material, but, for example, I didn’t like the writing style of the Project Hail Mary book and preferred the movie a lot more. However, I’m still glad I read it first because knowing the extra context and characterization that was in the books but had to be cut from the movie only added to my enjoyment of the movie and made me appreciate it even more than I would have. Im the same with anime and manga. I muchhhhhhh prefer manga. I know music and voice acting adds so much life to the series, but there really is smth so compelling to me about the storytelling in manga format. It’s a preference thing in the end 🤷🏻‍♀️ the only downside is that if I read a manga/book, my chances of watching its adaptation if its made into a series drop down to the negatives idk why but I just can’t sit through it. I can watch movie adaptations but never series 😭

Yall have technically seen ichigo like that already during his vizored training. He was turning into a hollow and was not in control of himself. Also whenever that White Ichigo takes over, that’s technically him being controlled. The vizoreds already explained they suppressed their inner hollows.

Why Hachi isn't a captain? Well, bc he's part of the Kido Corps 🤗 Tessai (Kido Commander) is his boss. The Kido Corps is a separate organization made up of Soul Reapers who specialize in Kido 🪄 They're not part of the 13 divisions (Gotei 13)

I do usually read the books first as an avid reader, but a few shows mostly YA contemporary romance I didn't read the books. But usually with fantasy I read it before. I did watch the first season of Bridgerton and then ended up reading all the books before the second season and enjoy both the books and show

It isn't explained well here but the Gotei 13 is comprised of 3 parts: The main squads Stealth force And the kido corps which hachi is the lieutenant of, which technically is a more exclusive spot than a normal captain. And regarding the question of why Urahara put the hogyoku in rukia, Aizen says in the soul society arc that it was just the most convenient spot for Urahara to hide it because she lost her powers, hence her spiritual pressure can't be detected.

Squad 10 at the time of this arc had just had just lost their captain in the line-of-duty (as mentioned by unohana within the first five minutes of the turn back the pendulum episode 1.) so we know that 100 years ago, there was a vacancy for squad 10 as well just prior to Kisuke becoming a captain of squad 12.

they tried their hardest to injure the dude, you cant claim they dont wana harm him when they swing directly for his flesh and then say shit like "hes to tough" they could break out their shikai or bankai and overpower him much easier with the upper hand it gives while holding bk what they needed to. Especially Shinji shikai would slow him down
