For the manga there are 102 chapters (second longest in one piece) from chapters 700-801. For the anime, its 629-746 = 117 episodes. Episode 677 covers chapter 741. So we are a little more than 40% done with the arc. Also about the midcards/eyecatchers (idk if you want to know or not so ill put some space below) The mid cards change at the start of the next arc, episode 747.

Cannon, you asked how did Robin get ez diffed when she got turned into a toy. I don't know if you read comments last drop, but One Pace skips it (I have no idea why, one of the worst mistakes in One Pace tbh). Robin uses her devil fruit hands to try and get Sugar to eat the spicy blueberry, but Sugar just touches those hands on her and turns her into a toy. Robin probably had no idea either of the devil fruits would work like that. It was super unexpected, I hate that yall didn't get to see that

It could be because a lot of people probably started watching One Piece after the timeskip happened, so they were able to binge the first couple of arcs. Then whatever post TS arc they got caught up on and had to wait weekly to watch inevitably turned into their disliked arc. I remember having to stop Dressrosa for a couple of months to let it finish so I could enjoy the arc. Actually, had to do that with pretty much every arc post TS. I haven't finished Wano yet since it got so slow pacing wise, probably time to pick OP up again now that it's seasonal.

I do appreciate the scene where Scarlett and Rebecca were watching Dressrosa burning and the first time we saw this scene (during Doflamingo's invasion episode) Kyros wasn't there, but now we get the context of him telling Scarlett to hide and wait at the Red Flower Field. Again, tragic that because he turned into a toy, his plan to keep his family safe was void

Mckay they extended the arc a lot because the manga wasn't very far ahead and they needed to stick to their weekly schedule. This is usually the reasoning for a lot of the poorly paced arcs, where they just slow it down or add padding/fillers.

The pacing is bad that because they didnt wanna catch up to the manga, cause they were running simultaneously. It 's especially worse in Dressrosa because Oda was hospitalised during this arc. So they couldnt do multiple chapters per arc. The other option was to go seasonal but Toei never made that call.

I commented this before watching the episode to be fair lol but at the same time, we see them interact for the first time when shes 15. There is nothing confirming they fell in love and got pregnant within the same year, so it's still up in the air on how old she is when they got married. I'm sure it wasnt anything extreme like a whole decade later obviously, but it easily could have been a few years, we dont actually know unless explicitly said or oda confirmed in an sbs or something. I did some sleuthing to be more accurate though. Viola is 29 years old in present dressrosa timeline. Viola was 10 whenever we see Kyros interact with Scarlet for the first time when she was 15. Rebecca is 16 in present timeline, which means Scarlett and Kyros got pregnant when she was 18 years old. Of course we dont know how long they were married before then, so that part is still up in the air lol but this confirmed didnt happen at 15 at least.

I still think that its weird because they met when she was 15 and you could see him developing feelings while she was around that age. Even if they did have Rebecca and got married when she was an adult It shouldn’t have happened. Yea I find it really strange when one pace cuts stuff that is clearly a great addition to explain off screen occurrences. Anime absolutely needs these moments to add flow. Though I admit there are definitely additional scenes that aren’t needed and one pace does well to cut them. It’s a delicate balance.

Hey dont get me wrong, I'm not from japan so the 16=18 in terms of when considered a legal adult doesnt sit right with me either lol I'll always prefer people being older in these situations. It's why I dont even watch romance anime if its in highschool unless its of the highest quality, I just dont care to watch stories like that now that I'm not in highschool anymore. But you are right that they more than likely started seeing each other romantically before 18, but it is hard to tell in anime with time progression on characters ages admittedly unless it's drastic. And things progress extremely fast in anime as well when it comes to side character romance lol they probably got pregnant immediately after getting married. But I agree, make these romances 20+ please and thank you or similar aged at least lol

I'm assuming it's just cause the One Pace team was still getting into the groove of things since they began the project with post-timeskip. They're going to be redoing it in the coming years but it'll definitely take awhile. I believe Dressrosa was the 4/5 arc they ever worked on. Went from PH, FMI/Post-war, Thriller Bark then Dressrosa. Which makes sense as those One Pace arcs have had the most inconsistencies that I've seen so far

Agree w you guys. Something that gets me thinking.. Kyros had that moment with Rebecca where he yelled at her (16 yrs old) "You are a child!!!" And yet at 25 he fell in love with a 15 year old. I blame Oda for this, not him, but there is some cognitive dissonance going on here. I dont get how Oda can simultaneously think a 16 yr old is a child, and that that is an acceptable age for them to be in love with an adult.

Robin's power scaling makes plenty of sense. When she creates a limb she still feels out of that limb. If someone grabs her hand they can still effect her. So if she goes to put her hands on Sugar, Sugar can just grab her hand and turn her into a toy. Robin is only really good against non-devil fruit users and people who can't use Haki because she can't use Haki herself. Before the time skip she was useful in certain situations, but after her powers aren't really good unless she works on her Haki.
