It is Jotaro's turn, who chooses to fight with a base-ball game. The ball throwing shots were realized by the action animation director, Fumiaki Kota, who had notably made research by observing real games. Let's add that one of the animators for this episode, Kimitaka Ito, is a genuine base-ball fan. He's made all sorts of verifications. I think it made for a rather dynamic result onscreen... That said, there are only home-runs and you can find the match a little bland on the sports side. Again, Jotaro shows really impressive bluffing skills. Thinking about it, I even feel that he only wins his battles through bluffs (laughs). Of course he has his physical strength, but he also has nerves of steel, and thus all the qualities of a great protagonist. Finally, the games with Telence do not last two but three episodes. Like in the manga, everyone has their little tactics we must develop one at a time, and everything takes up more screen time than we imagined. Part 4 spoilers sorta: I lied this is part 3 spoilers, but I'm so proud of the JoJo's fandom for not really spoiling anything so far other than the very obvious Abdul comeback comments, but you guys gotta chill with the hinting for the upcoming episodes, don't hint at what emotions they may evoke or what kind of fights they'll be, let them go into these episodes completely blind. You'd be surprised at how much someone can figure out through a seemingly innocent comment. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Mild spoilers for the next parts Part 3 is a mixed bag, especially because of the early fights, but it has some of the highest highs for sure. Ain't no fight like D'arby the gambler in any other part. Or even a Vanilla Ice. Part 5 has the most highs by far but I wouldn't say it ever does better than these two or the final battle

spoilers I think what part 4 does best is having every episode advance the plot and characters a little further in some way. I've still seen people complain about the structure though, some even think it's worse than part 3. Moistkritikal didn't like part 4 for that reason for example.

I feel like every part after 3 nails what makes jojo so unique, having smart ways to utilize abilities that are odd or even weak. Most of part 3 abilities are so straight forward like fire, sand, water, strong punch, sword etc. I have seen those abilities in millions other shows, give me a stand that can shoot fingernails out of your buns but only when you are half erect-type of stands

Def and part 4 feels very vibrant and lived in. Has an amazing cast and imo, even though I do love Dio, DIU has a goated bonkers antagonist lol. I don't understand people who think it's paced worse than Stardust at all. I think Charlie's reasoning for not liking it is kind of bull, but hey each part is its own new thing. Different strokes for different folks SPOILERS: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Part 4 is also when Jotaro cemented himself as one of my favorite anime characters

Can't wait for this final stretch. The comment thing is unfortunately something I've seen happen with other Jojo's reaction series as well. Due to the format of part 3, a lot of people wait for more loved episodes or the end of a part. Also, while not niche anymore, it is still not the most insanely popular show based off of what I've seen with interaction online. Especially when comparing it to any of the big 3 shows or big, popular modern shonen like JJK or DS.

The abilities in itself are ok imo, the issue with part 3 is more the fact that the payoffs of the battles are a little conventional, especially at the beginning. We already have crazy random powers in many shows. What makes Jojo goated isn't the original powers, it's the way they're used. Jojo is at its best when it focuses on that aspect rather than the originality of the ability itself (which I think part 4 and 5 do a good job at for the most part) In this context, having a simple to understand power is even better, as you get to minimize exposition and you get to see the crazy way Jojo handles powers you've already seen before. That's why I feel D'Arby's fight is the best example of what part 3 and Jojo in general is all about. Take a mundane thing like poker and make it the most epic thing ever. It's not the ability or the medium that makes the battle interesting, it's the characters and the way it's fought.

I think there is almost nothing but peak jojo from here on, I'd say that the Iggy fight was great and then everthing after will be so memorable, the second half of stardust crusaders is one of the best things about Jojo after all, even though the first half is not exactly the best.

I think that I am in the minority but I have no problem with you guys dropping episodes one by one and think that the suspense can be quite enjoyable. Also I respect that if you guys don't want to then you don't need to do it . Additionally I heavily disagree with the episode groupings that people are recommending. MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW AS TO WHY I DISAGREE WITH PEOPLES GROUPINGS People are recommending to watch 42-44 but I completely disagree as I think that it is much more impactful to watch 42-43 as you get to sit with the 'death' that happens. For me personally, even after knowing what actually happens, the 'death' is still a super impactful episode to me even when I rewatch it, and I think it would be better for them to process those emotions first, and then feel the emotions of 44 a separate day. In regards to the last episodes groupings I see why you would want them to watch them all at once but at the same time I think it's nice for them to sit on the deaths that happen and just think about things and have them talk about what they think in the discussion after each episode.
