tbh I watched the anime as it was ongoing and at the time it's pacing didn't feel off because most anime were the same way. For ppl that are used to how little filler modern anime has, I can understand how it is comparably slower but regardless it's still a fun arc

Sadly the anime does a terrible job with the comedy and pacing in some upcoming moments, cuz they extended them to simply fill in the time for the 24min mark. These fights are 10 times less muddy in the manga and pre-TYBW Bleach deserves so much better. The damage they have caused on a deeper level is irreparable. This is still surface level and for context, the deep level damage is the studio adding CRUCIAL moments in filler arcs or entirely removing them in canon. I will never forgive the studio and the weirdo director for doing this to my fave franchise. On a more positive note, the action-packed and important moments are done pretty well. And the animation for said moments is great too!

This is coming from someone who loves Bleach and has watched it from way long ago but I am honestly with you guys on the cringe of some of this dialogue and fights and it can really drag but hey the worst of it is over and it will get slowly better and better like One Piece fights where we start with the fights of the weaker characters and one by one go up from there. It just seems like its a formula that these older and extremely long anime follow. If you guys want to do a mini binge I am pretty sure a lot of people would be all for it at least through this part of the arc which isn't entirely bad its just the first half is a little slow as we have seen so far.

Good that yall are setting your expectations low, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how the rest of the lieutenant fights go. This was the only weak one IMO and its out the way. Nothing else in this arc drops down to that level or down to the level of Pesche and Dondochakka or the early parts of the Szayel Aporro fight before Mayuri lol, so we're good. Next 2 episodes are heat.

As far as I remember, there are still some pacing issues and unfunny comedy moments coming up. I think this is a good arc overall, but Studio Pierrot made the source material worse than it needed to be.

There’s that one episode with the most annoying character in the arc lol but other than that I think it’s pretty solid here on out, there is definitely some unnecessary stuff but nothing that spans an entire episode outside of “that” one.

If you had watched the clip of Noitora with Treachery playing way before you had any idea what was happening you also would have found it less enjoyable. Context is literally everything for these build ups. Yeah I think there is just one bad occasion in this arc but overall it's average/above average in terms of pacing. Ofc if you compare it to the manga then it's always a lot worse in that sense but when comparing to other pacing of anime it's not that bad. Pretty excited for the next drop though

i cant recall if they actually explain it properlyin the anime or not. but essentially yumichika always calls out a `fake` name only part of he`s shikai`s name. which makes it not release completely. hence why only he`s sword shape changed. but he never really got new techniques from it. during this battle he calls it its real release name. hence why it had the vine/plant form.

One piece's remake is already in the work Bleach had the anniversary trailer and with the success of the tybw anime its very possible, but they might wanna adapt the novels first Naruto also had the anniversary with the 3 promised episodes, but they never came, and currently boruto the manga is airing and the anime is gonna came back. And kishimoto recently said he might wanna explore more of the world post boruto, so its pretty hard

Want to clear up the whole sword releases because you guys are a little confused without spoiling. As many people have said it's true that when a new bankai is revealed the character will always say bankai and the name of it, but not the release command. The release command is said when activating shikai (like roar, scatter, dance) before the name of the shikai, so do with that info as you wish.
