Sorry guys, fixed the link to the correct one!!

ssj4rit

I’m glad to see the anime hater side of Cannon and Carter lol

Klokkey

if they cant look past the tropes then unfortunately not many animes will live up to AOT for them, Death Note will def be up their alley

Ian

to your point of the earings, I dont think they're as uncommon as you think and Tanjiro doesn't know the significance of them

luffy

to be fair, the ds topes really are overkill. they could watch mob psycho, monster or hxh

ssj4rit
>>106584174

HxH is my fave but I doubt they’ll like it considering how much internal monologue and exposition it has later on.

Mason Schutz

"I don't know why this kid has so much significance." He's literally the remaining sole owner of Yorichii Type Zero. Lmao

I'm gonna be honest. All the shitting on DS and other shows in this community bothered me and wasn't feeling the vibe so I started to lose hope but wow- never thought I'd actually see you guys react to it. So happy that you guys are watching it! Can't wait to get through the season with you guys! Also, ufotable//ユーフォーテーブル is pronounced yu-fo-table (table like the furniture), not "yufottable". Literally named after a designer table that looks like a UFO that the founder wished to buy when starting out back when they could not afford it.

bondbond53

I actually think you guys will enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen even if it also has a number of anime tropes. Out of the two new mainstream shonen between this and Jujutsu Kaisen, the latter is miles ahead. And season 2 is coming this July!!!!

Wow was shocked when I seen it on YT, while I think DS ain’t all that I still think it’s worth the watch it just not for everyone and that’s okay lol. The jokey/ laided back moments are sweet chuckles and lighthearted to try and be joyful but the show doesn’t execute it that greatest, which besides the somewhat lackluster storytelling, was my biggest gripe with the show. However, seeing how ya’ll took and reacted towards those moments honestly gives me so much hope that ya’ll will love other stories like JJK, HXH and FMAB regardless of how quippy and jokey they can get. Can’t wait to see how ya’ll take the rest of this season

jjk is so freaking hard to get and this is coming from a jjk fan.

To be honest the tropiness never bothered me when I was watching this show alone, I didn't even notice it as a negative until people started pointing it out, I mean, yeah it's silly but like... I don't care as long as the joke isn't cringe itself (which certainly happens) but it never took away from the highs like ep 19, half the Entertainment District Arc, and Mugen Train was great outside of the Ynosuke dream, that made me uncomfortable in the theatre. In general the setup episodes are MUCH more reliant on those moments, but once the action starts it's completely gone so it literally never affected my enjoyment.

If you're looking for something fantasy that is good take a look at Re:Zero or Mushoku Tensei. Both involve breaking down the main character and rebuilding them into a better person. Slow shows with great animation and imo Re: Zero as someone who reads the source material, has one of the best stories on AoT levels.

locomojoboy

Can you please organize your attack on titan videos/posts so that we can easily find them in the AoT link at the top of the page? Because March is the last month that has any content when you select the month in the filters. For April it is empty and as a result we have to sift through all other posts/uploads that have nothing to do with AoT. Thanks in advance.

Luke Crompton

NGL first two eps have been arse.

I think "tropes" bothering people not used to anime boils down to cultural comfort level. I don't mean that in a rude way at all, it's just that the more familiar you are with them I think the more you can understand and enjoy them. Some of them are also referencing things that relate more to common parts of japanese culture that just may seem weird or random if you're out of the loop. I think there are a lot of western tropes that because we're surrounded by them in society we don't even notice them when they happen in a show. There are for sure ones you can like and dislike personally, but again I think familiarity has a lot to do with it. There are certainly shows that have unserious moments though that take me out and I don't enjoy, but it's more so because I don't enjoy what they're trying to do in that scene/show and have seen it done much better.

DS is just mid to a lot of people, not sure why those opinions bother you just because they differ from your own.

celery
>>106602526

because if they really dont like this anime, they dont have to watch it? just to hate on it and have the comments full of hate for it as well?

Ashley K
>>106602526

Celery! Good seeing you here lol. @tim this is more than just an opinion. Ppl are so feral with the “mid slayer” trend. It’s hate. If you’re in the discord you’ll know what I mean. It’s to the point of being just disrespectful.
