Hey guys! We are about to film episode 2 and 3 of the original poll winner, and out of curiosity we wanted to make a poll to ask who wants us to watch 1 episode in dub to try it out!

Comments

DeeHasApples

I've only ever watched it in dub, even though I tend to watch shows in sub. I really love the VAs in the dub. Though I've never seen sub, so it might be interesting to see. Ryuk def has a different vibe in sub, though I already kinda miss his scratchy clown voice heh.

Chrisiyyi

Sub pls, its just different in sub over dub

adam

sub will always be my ninja way lol btw will VS ep. 14 drop today?

Shiro

I personally prefer the sub version, because even if the dub is good, it does not live up to the over-dramatic moments in the show, it sounds forced and cringey. While I love a certain character’s English dub VA in this show, there is another character whose English dub is cringey beyond anything. One has to look at the overall performance of all characters. In that regard, the sub is better than the dub, my two cents.

HEAVILY DISAGREE, I think lights voice actor for the dub is substantially better at the overdramatic moments, his laugh during some of the scenes is chilling. Death note is probably one of three shows I can think of that I think the dub is genuinely better and I’m a pretty big dub hater.

bondbond53

you know what whatever check out one episode in dub so these people don't plague every comment section

Zena

Sub forever😂 I’m sorry to the dubbers but my main thing is it is Japanese so makes sense to hear it in Japanese!

It’s so funny how people don’t understand that whichever voice you watch it in first causes your brain to think that it sounds the best. I watch both depending on the show and who I’m with because I lean sub but people I watch it with don’t watch as much anime and shows like fmab sound way better in dub for me because I watched it in dub first. Let me correct myself, ofc there’s cases where the dub is objectively just worse but for all of the popular ones what I said is true

I also watched death note in dub and like it better but then jjk I watched in sub, then watched in dub with my brother and I kept asking him if the voice actors were bad because it sounded weird to me but he kept saying he liked them a lot sooo

Bibi

I think to do the voice acting of Mamoru Miyano (Light's VA) justice you must watch it in sub! He is arguably one of the top voice actors of all time. btw, he voices upper moon 2 (Douma) from demon slayer! Us demon slayer fans who read the manga wanted Mamoru Miyano to voice Douma because of Douma's personality and we got our wish! The emotions conveyed just solely by his voice fits Douma's character so well!

James

Yeah, I think you all should start learning Japanese to get the full anime experience

translucentmin

The Dub isnt bad, but it definitely gives the show a completely different tone from the Sub.

Bibi

important question is what time should we expect ep 2 to be uploaded? lol

Karel
>>107507342

they should learn Japanese before continuing death note LOL

三上

Many Japanese are not good at English. The reason why they still manage to watch your channel is because you watch anime with subtitles.

Jackson Renehan

Personally I think all of the main characters in the dub are really well done. It's a pretty good dub for its time. Watching the sub with Gek I personally didn't find it as good. But maybe that's just because I've watched it in dub twice.

ThatAnemicGuy
>>107521375

Then why watch a reaction channel of english speaking people if not good with english? If you're hear just to watch the anime and not their reactions it kinda defeats the purpose of it no?

三上
>>107521375

Knowing what anime characters are saying makes it easier to guess what the guys of studio gek are saying. If both are in English, it becomes difficult to follow.

Xeons

omg i’m shocked there’s not more Dub lovers 💀

Xeons
>>107527739

i prefer them all in dub 😂 have to read fast now on sub💀😂

Ladnon

Dub fan

Ladnon

It almost seems pointless to watch dub after the series has ended though

Christa

I think ep 2 L vs Kira part is so much cooler in dub.

idcjayyy

am i the only one who thinks the dub is 10x better than the sub? the most iconic deathnote clips are from the dub

Wulfheart

Dub has a certain place in my heart due to the nostalgia of it being one of my first anime that I watched on adult swim when I was young. That being said, I think y'all should at least try the dub so you're not as biased since you won't be used to the voice actors. If you still don't like the dub that's fine but give it a shot earlier on than you did with AoT

light getting tackled by miss and THATS RIGHT, I WIN. Iconic.

@Xeons Greetings from Europe, where this is the norm. Trust me you get used to it. I've been doing it since I was a kid.

Lukash

I am proud of this community, but too close to my liking

fa al

In SUB, Soichiro and Askeladd are same voice actor

Alex Bergeron

Ah yes not letting people enjoy whatever they prefer so proud lmao y’all are so delusional. Like some people don’t wanna have to read when they are watching a show. Plus dub isn’t even bad for original poll winner

I watched ep 2 and 3 and realized this! so cool

J

DN is the only anime I prefer dub. Especially for new watchers as they have to keep up with the mind fck

Zekrom XI

Shiro, your “two cents” are absolutely SHIT!

T heFearlessAbsol

So dumb yall are watching dub after you finish it :/ why not decide for yourselves after comparing first episode

Usaid Munir

Death Note is the one and only anime that I recommend to watch in Dub. Maybe FMAB too. Otherwise, dubs are usually trash but it is really well done in this masterpiece.

Iago Leonelli

always watch shows on their original audio. simple as that. no matter how the internet says the dub is awesome, it will never be better or fit better than the original audio. most people that recommend any dub is on nostalgia. most of the time it is just cringe, and it can completely change the vibe of a character, his vocal traits and etc. death note might be a good one but it is far from being on the same level as the original. you simply cannot go wrong with the sub.

Iago Leonelli

this should not even be a question. there is no reason to watch any show ever in any other language that is not the original audio for that show. anime, tv shows, movies, you name it. When you start watching Dark, would you ask yourself if you're going to watch it in german or english? no. Do you ask yourself if you're watching Invincible in japanese or english? No. This question only appears to anime, because many people are just lazy to read, or they are full on nostalgia because they saw it the first time a decade ago in english.

You do realize that you're talking about Japanese dub versus English dub - they're dubbing the voice either way since drawings don't have voices. Occasionally the English dub will be better than the Japanese dub, even if it's only like 10% of the time (which is my opinion). Not only that, but sometimes the translations in the English dub are just better and more natural. Nothing worse than a crappy sub where they translate everything literally and it feels awkward/unnatural and the sentences don't flow.

Brian Estepa
>>107863451

Sean the last issue in your comment has nothing to do with the voice acting and everything to do with the translators, which is just an issue of finding a better translation. OP is 100% right. "drawings dont have voices" no shit dumbass. does that mean you would watch invincible in anything other than english? if your answer is yes then you just have zero right to comment on this subject cause clearly you're trolling
