Sometimes the "slower" episodes are some of my favorites in tv series! Idk just something about them that draws me in and makes me pay even more attention to the details in the story. I love the first interaction with Canute and Thorfinn. It just cracks me up lol. Also I wasn't a big fan of Askeladd on first watch but he's actually really funny the more I rewatch VS! He's quite enjoyable although he's a complex character

Melizé

All good! We appreciate everything you do! Thanks for all the awesome content you guys put out ❤

vinland is literally an anti violence show btw

the fact that the legend of Arthur Pendragon/king Arthur is just thrown in there without more explanation is a great example of how much content there is under the surface of the show. Personally, when I first saw that scene with the rock and sword I was literally bouncing up and down with excitement even if the episode is objectively slow and boring. Like, there's so much depth but a lot of it isn't explained in detail and is left to the viewer to pick up on and understand, but it can be hard to do if you're not familiar with the history and mythology. Which is why this show is awesome to rewatch when you have more knowledge. Jack for example being able to sorta guess where Gratianus and his people were from purely based on the look of their ships and armour is another example of how much better the viewing experience is when you know stuff like that. Gratianus looked distinctly Roman and the entire scene is so sick considering the romans had only been mentioned briefly in some eps before. Also, having a map over this area from this time period can be a helpful tool, it didn't look the way it does now. But I dont wanna give u guys all the answers lol

We appreciate all the hard work that goes into the channel‼️🔥Thank you all for the dedication! 👏🏼 Also props to Cannon for that surprise Mario Kart & Smash Bros with the Patrons! GG’s! Joker shall get revenge one day…💀

The first several episodes of Vinland Saga season 2 were very slow to the point where I considered that I should stop watching it, but as the season progress, I realized that it was slow with a purpose. I'm almost to the point where I think season 2 is better than season 1.

Thorfinn's story is very simple and straightforward at the moment, that we dont need him to be on the center of things. Everybody knows what he wants to do. He is a a pretty black and white character so it would be boring and kinda pointless to have him on screen just so he can reaffirm what everybody already knows, that is to kill Askeladd in a duel to avenge his father. Askeladd is the real interesting character here so we explore him more, since he is actually the character that moves the story forward, not Thorfinn. Thorfinn is just riding his wagon waiting for his chance. Canute and Askeladd are more pivotal characters at the moment. They are the ones that move the plot. Calling Vinland Saga slow and boring is a compliment to Yukimura (the author). He is very careful and thoughtful of how he build his story, to the point that a fast paced story would ruin itself. Many people dont realize it but Vinland needs to be slow in order to be great. Its distinguishable from most anime, or even the conventional western type of narrative even outside of the realm of anime, and special exaclty because it does what most serie are afraid to do, which is to slow down the pace and have the MC not be as present. At the end of the day, the people that complain about it being slow are the same people that are calling it Masterpiece at the end of the series, but without realizing that the slow pace of the story is extremely rich and important for its existence

These two episodes I remembered you guys are Americans lol. The history may be a bit hard for you to entirely grasp at first haha

DerekSniper30

Fun fact for Brigg. In the dub the guy that players the priest is voiced by Erwin from AoT.

Jag_227

Yes I am hoping that they like season 2 and don't stop watching. Having read the manga there is a lot of set up. With where we are now in season 2 I'm sure there will be a season 3 assuming they continue.

Joie Dianzon

My damn cousin pointed out that my boyfriend (Swiss-German) looks like Askeladd and now I cannot unsee it. 😭 Anyway, some episodes tend to get slow (I agree), but it still gets better. I cannot wait for more character development.

Jack McKee

ya'll gotta chill on canute! he's the way he is for a reason

khalxeesi

i like canute alot actually, i can see he has room to grow. if all the major characters start out as Him then theres less dynamics so im excited to see a growth arc that contrasts thorfinns
