A silent voice

Merielle

Why not both lol, my first choice is “your name” tho

Sterling

I say "Your name". Then watch the movie "Weathering with you". And if you wanted to go deeper watch "The garden of words" which could be watched almost as a prequel to your name.

adam

ngl both of em are GOATED! but people usually watch your name first as the starter then a silent voice, don't mind which first, the difference is your name got more fantasy in it while asv more slice of life

Jay

A silent voice

Cookie

BOTH 😭

MeekikZIN

A silent voice for sure

Bibi

Your name is very, very, very overrated. I remember watching it with my girlfriend after watching with her steins gate and madoka and it was very underwhelming. Maybe that is the reason I never really understood the hype behind it. It really feels like nowadays the shinier the animation the more hype it gets. For sure a silent voice is a much better story

Ale

A Silent voice for sure

Sean Carroll

i watched your name about christmas time with my mom and then again with my sister. Both times I just did not care for it, to me its way too overhyped. I havent seen a silent voice but would want to in the future maybe

Your Name (haven't seen yet) as I've already seen A Silent Voice. ASV was pretty good but not my favorite

Alex Bergeron

My dog is named after a character in a silent voice. Absolutely phenomenal movie. Your name is really good too

Chaffi

A silent voice

Silvana Salinas

Your name. Is hard to pick one both are phenomenal movies

Mia Malvik

A silent voice is one of the best movie experiences I've ever had, not just in anime but overall. Then again I'm biased towards the topics in it, but it is really good. Your Name is pretty good too. Asv has my vote

Joie Dianzon 🇵🇭

I would prefer A Silent Voice as it realistic and the story will really break you. Give it a try first. I can almost imagine all of your reactions to certain scenes. Your Name is merely hyped due to its visuals and cinematography. Actually, I usually recommend either A Silent Voice OR Grave of the Fireflies, as they both tackled the errors of humanity of the present and past.

jul ☽

A SILENT VOICE PLS

mariah

A SILENT VOICE…

James

Your Name, but I would also recommend watching Belle at some point in the future.

Maxxman

I will say both movies are great, I enjoy Your Name more personally cause it hits all the right notes for me. I cant ever watch a silent voice again, because when I do it makes me extremely uncomfortable while watching. I want to be clear that is not a knock on ASV, it is just something where the subject material makes me too sad to endure

Gatsu

a silent voice

Knomadic

Your name for sure!

On Patreon, A Silent Voice looks like its gonna win. We need the votes of youtube-only-subcribers to see which one is actually gonna win.

Kermit Kermicide
>>111475724

Might be because it's hiting too close to home. When it happens to me, i realize its hitting something real so i'd avoid it as well.

Saram Shaikh

Although both are good. Your name is top tier!

Verito

A Silent Voice

Coen

Both, but Your Name first

I think L looked suspicious of Misa because in the previous episode, Misa seemed very eager to join L's team (when he told the chief and others to work independently to arrest the 7 Yotsuba members), she also seemed very eager to catch Kira at all costs despite Light's protests of how dangerous it was. Now, after her meeting/interview, when Light tells her that she will not investigate Kira and only work in Yotsuba's commercials as it is dangerous, she meekly agrees with him. Hence, L was wondering what happened to change her stance and agree with Light, a very subtle change...

the voice recording wasn't of the full conversation, idk why but everyone always gets this wrong, she only recorded the very last part, you even can see her starting the recording in the car. L and them have no idea that she had to prove him anything, and that's the biggest reason L finds this sus, because he knows even a dumb kira wouldn't be trying to prove themselves to someone claiming to be second kira without them also having given some type of proof too. Also he could pick up on her behaviour changing suddenly again

>>111488857

Lmao i have two sticky notes of all the names of the people who voted. and recounted multiple times.

astroplace
>>111488857

Maybe you should redo your sticky notes because only 42 people said your name. I don't know where the extra 4 came from brev

Kermit Kermicide
>>111488857

I've given a like to everyone who voted your name which makes counting easier and there are exactly 46:49 votes for YN:ASV. Oh and I've counted people who commented "both" and added their votes to both movies. Seems like you counted them as well but only applied their votes for ASV. If you added it to BOTH movies we would have the same count

astroplace
>>111488857

just did a recount and i was wrong your name is not 44 its 43 actually translucentmin said your name twice. still dont know where the extra 3 people came from.

astroplace
>>111479373

i also agree that everything doesnt have to be a poll. but when the amount of people that want each movie is close i think its useful to keep count of the majority.

Kermit Kermicide
>>111488857

Ahh that was a good catch. I'll remove 1 vote for YN. The three people you probably didnt count is veronia, adam, and alex. All these people commented "both" so their votes are applied to both movies but it doesnt really make a difference. Seeing how both our ASV count is the same, I'm assuming you counted these 3 but only applied their votes to ASV

Kermit Kermicide
>>111479373

Did you want a pic? I switch to a screenshot and drew over it rather than wasting ink. Lemme recount then I'll send you a pic

Not wanting to spoil anything, all I’m going to say is that they’re just different kinds of movies leaving you with different feelings. But both of them are captivating and deeply moving, at least that was the case for me so definitely worth watching both 💯.

Your Name. A reaction classic and one of my all time favorite movies. Definitely A Silent Voice after though. Both such beautiful movies.

kiiturii
>>111479373

@kermit Kermicide just let them decide based on what people are saying about the movies, they're prolly gonna watch both at some point anyway. If they choose to watch your name first there'll guaranteed be people complaining about how silent voice "won the poll" even though they didn't even start the poll themselves

Kermit Kermicide
>>111479373

well duh, the poll that matters are the ones that the Geks starts themselves since their poll reaches both patreons and viewers on yt. and it'd be dumb to yell at the Geks for not following a poll that they didnt even start. for me, this is just to keep track of patreons who wants to watch one or the other. and hey, it's fun reading everyones opinions regarding two amazing movies as i counted the votes :D

Silent Voice. The main character’s development and journey is so beautiful.

Biasum

A Silent Voice definitely

Skyhops

Your Name

Bibi

I thought ep 22 of DN will be posted right after ep 21 🤔

Saphira

Your name deffo first and then a silent voice.

Thiivi

Your Name is the perfect gateway into standalone anime films imo. A Silent Voice is definitely on the heavier side, so you might want to get your feet wet with Your Name before diving into that pool of tears

Brittney Wright

They both make made me cry. I would say Your Name is more romantic and A Silent Voice is more of a social commentary on bullying. But I think either one would be amazing!

Lily

Definitely 「 Your Name」

Jennifer Rivera

I liked your name better than a silent voice

Hechy

your name has higher production quality but the movie content is better in a silent voice imo
