PEAKLAND

The RZA

I am so freakin stoked that you guys are to this part of the arc!

Bibi

I cried like a bitch while watching ep 9 😭 😭 😭

Bibi

I saw a comment that said the author of Vinland Saga (Makoto Yukimura) posted this on twitter when episode 9 was airing "I hope people become much more and more ashamed of being violent. It would be nice if shooting a gun felt as embarrassing as a bare dick."

Rip Darth Maul

Thors did indeed believe in no violence. In fact, he stated that it was just because he was too weak, that he had to resort to the sword, hence the sentence "A true warrior doesn't need a sword.". Thorfinn's path as the son of Thors is to surpass his father by becoming a true warrior, that really has no need for violence at all. You may be asking yourselves, what is still to come after this, but the true story just began. Vinland Saga is the story about Thorfinn's true fight. The fight to become a true warrior.

PantsuParty

When do you guys release CSM episodes?

James

Episode 9 is rated as 9.6 on IMDb, and there's a handful more episodes that are rated greater than 9 later in this season.

Vivi ♡

It makes me happy to see Thorfinn actually smiling (,:

Matthew Valentine

I liked season 1 for sure but season 2 and specifically these 2 eps are where I understood that this show is gonna go a crazy unique direction. Mappa killed it as always.

adam

the next 2 eps gonna be wild, that flashback scene with canute and harald teared me up, as someone with younger brother that scene hit too close to home

Ale

Yes Carter, you are 100% right, there is a social battery and I don't take any other opinions on that matter. I cried the first time I watched episode 9,is soooo emotional, really good episode. As a manga reader the story goes strong even after the end of this arc, if we ever get another season it will animate my favorite part of the whole story. We got S2 announcement quite some time after S1 ended so I still got hope. Also Thorffin laughing after so many years warms my heart ♥️

Nonos
>>112439978

Yeah after finishing this season I had to go straight to the manga, I couldn’t wait anymore lmao. Farmland I think overall is better written but the next arc is my favorite group of characters definitely and most enjoyable.

Bibi
>>112439978

GOOD NEWS the director of Vinland Saga posted on twitter after the last episode of season 2 aired stating "Thorfinn's story will continue" and the picture he posted had "III" hidden on it implying there will be a season 3 for sure we just don't know what year it's expected to air 😊

kaan

Retainers are normal farm workers that work on a farm that they don't own (because they don't have any land) probably in return of a wage maybe housing too, a bit like your regular wage labor. They are not all ex-slaves. They are free in that they are not regarded as property of a master and regarded as ordinary citizen but probably they don't have many options because they don't own any land, wealth or title so a lot of them work for a land owner to get by.

I take it there's a manga and you've read it or something? im not all caught up and idk how much content there's still left to adapt or anything like that

Shiro
>>112441440

That’s right, Einar even commented in episode 2 that retainers are almost-like slaves as they are landless laborers. They may farm on rented land from the landlord. In episode 8, the young thieves father was a renter I think. He had not paid his dues and was missing.

Nonos
>>112439221

Yessir one episode in particular is a 9.8 which is deserved :)

kaan
>>112441440

Yes you are correct. I forgot about those kids for a second.

Alyson Loza

These episodes are some of my favorites 👌🏼 so glad you guys are enjoying season 2. Can’t wait for you to watch the next few episodes!!

Jasmin Baus

Social battery is 100% a thing lol from what ive heard these 2 types (probably more) people who GET energy from being around friends, family etc. and people who get energy from being alone and get drained from being around others after a certain period of time. Im the latter, I only have so much energy i can spend with others until its to much. My best friend is the opposite though and only gets energy when they are around me or a friend.

C2-H5-OH
>>112445264

Straight facts. I'm in the second type. One outing with my friends and I gotta be alone to recharge. Glad to see it being actually talked about by others.

april 🍏

Carter's just like me fr. iPhone 4 social battery and getting emotional watching episode 9

Jasmin Baus
>>112445264

real~!! I can only take 1-2 outing with a friend MAX 3 in 1 week but thats rare.

BolarPear
>>112438720

the first two seasons cover up to chapter 101 of the manga, and we're currently on 203.

BolarPear

ITS TIME FOR THE GOAT EP

BolarPear

to address the stuff on pronunciation of thors and thorfinn, yes it is with the english th sound. the anime's actually been on point with the pronunciations of most characters names like einar, leif, and arnheid both having "ay" sounds where there's an "ei", or bjorn with the j having a y sound. however, japanese doesn't have an equivalent for the "th" sound, so they pronounce "thorfinn" and "thors" as "torufin" and "toruzu". hope this was helpful

L.C.

More things compared to AOT in post discussion? Thats typical

lunchbag9

i understand what you mean saying that you dont see how it goes on from thorfinns revelation, but i can assure you it just gets better and better, episode to episode and chapter to chapter it just keeps getting better. chapter 192(?) (if you read, you know the scene) made me cry my eyes out at work when i read it. i truly do not think there is a single flaw in this story.

moonlightdove

social batteries are a real thing. a lot of people I know personally get extremely exhausted after hanging out with friends for a long period of time, especially because they normally have to be so high energy. so when they come home, they're kind of like: "oh my god, I'm so drained." for me personally, my social battery drops down to zero after just a few hours.

Audreyldo

VS is one of the only show that makes me emotional almost as much as AOT does, the music and the staging is insane!

Mia Malvik

The names Thorfinn and Thors were spelled with the Icelandic letter Þ which is pronounced somewhere between the American th sound and a hard T, so I'd argue that both ways of pronouncing it is correct. In addition, all nordic countries today pronounce the names with Thor in it with the hard T, because the th sound doesn't exist here. This is true for Icelandic as well. I'd say the way Cannon says it sounds the best 🦦 I was gonna bring up the fact that my grandpas name is Thor, but then I remembered that my other grandpas name was Leif lol. Funny coincidence Also regarding the valhalla thing, valhall is Odins great hall in Asgard where he brings the worthy who die on the battlefield, and in valhalla the dead all fight among themselves to train for Ragnarok. Then at the end of each day when everyone is dead, they're "resurrected" to have a feast inside Odins hall. The next day they continue fighting, so it's a cycle. Basically valhalla is super violent, but considering that the vikings enjoyed the violence, this is their idea of heaven.

Ale
>>112450313

Chapter 191 still holds my heart to this day, it made me cry like an inconsolable child :')

Ale
>>112439978

I saw that!! But I have also seen animes that even have trailers out never being actually released so I still have my doubts lol

Izaya

its funny how every single human being that watched this episode said that Ketil would die whenever he said he was going to Harald lol

Toff

social batteries are real af

Mia Malvik
>>112455830

Oh and social batteries are definitely real. Mine has a max capacity of 50% 🫡

Thiivi

I believe the retainers are basically just employees that are working on the farm in exchange for quality food, shelter and maybe monetary compensation too, but I'm not sure.

lola
>>112439978

Nah, but I’m sure none of those shows had the popularity VS has

MaraReaper

Social batteries are real! Don’t let the extroverts sway you

Shiro
>>112445264

Isn't that the classic definition of introverts and extroverts??

Eva

More VS please!

L.C.

They don't understand that there is a reason why its called "vinland" saga? The show isn't over with because its main premise is building land in Vinland

Bibi

To Cannon and Carter, if you guys like watching reactions then I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend watching FILMBuff's reaction to episode 9 season 2 of Vinland Saga. His reactions are amazing for anyone who wants an in-depth analysis (his AOT reactions are mind blowing too). I especially loved when he talked about how Thorfinn's inner battles are his true battles to becoming a warrior like his father 👏

A

Seeing Thorfinn laugh will never not get to me 😭

Shiro
>>112488817

Filmbuff is the GOAT, found him during AoT...another underrated reaction channel is Heatah and Hustla reacts, their observation skills and memory are the best akin to Filmbuff!

Melizé

Social battery is 100% a thing, The way Simon Sinek explained it on a ted talk was: introverts lose energy with every social interaction while extroverts gain energy from every social interaction. I am an introvert and the more people I socialize with, the more I drain my social battery until I hit a point where I need to just be by myself to re-charge.

Johr YT

As a Norwegian, it is pronounced "Torfinn" without the h :D

C2-H5-OH

This comment right here if you just got a notification from the Geks lol

Ale

For some reason I got a not if for this lol

Unbelievable comeback by Brig.
