Guys cannon was so bad in the outro I just had to put something there so just ignore it lol.

Also jack just went full iroh in the intro😂

PEAK PEAK PEAK KAISEN

One of my favourite fights in jjk!!

Ryan C

jack acting like toji 💀

acorns

RAAAH

Cannon Andrus

Jack doing clap push-ups out of nowhere is giving me life right now 😂😂😂

McKay Carter

The goat is gone but never forgotten

Ali Lulz

The hereditary technique is the ten shadows technique, which is Megumi's power.

⭐️—_—💧

can you please react to "Arcane: League of Legends"

Solivigant Kaiba

Toji is my favorite anime character of all time. Well, he actually shares no.1 with another character from a different anime based on the joy they give me but from JJK, Toji is my no.1.😆

asdfg

realizing yuuji has to wake up to the chaos those two created is sad but it's difficult to hate sukuna.. he's such a good antagonist. he's rly him!!!

V

my boy jack started the training arc in the middle of the video lol 😂😂😂

Kite

The guy that animated this also worked on Mob Psycho 100 I think, for those who watched mob its the fight with the teleportation dude

CRuEL_WOrlD

Next ep gonna be brazyyy

Naaman Morton

This episode gave off a lot of mob psycho 100 vibes with the animation style

Topa233

Fan animation lookin ahh fr

Matthew Hunt Davies

the animation was consistently the same throughout the whole episode and it was elite. it was just an art style change that allowed the characters to be free flowing and express themselves more.

Kim555

why are we covering Cannon's dogs 💀? He lost the AOT bet. Free the dogs

JayPierlis

them not realizing this is one of the best animation sequences ever is a little sad but still a W reaction. this ep was just an example of toning down the details and shadows to make the movement alot more smooth. i do realize it isnt everyones cup of tea but to me it was the best animated fight/ep of jjk bar none and it aint close

Mr.Flakes3

It only is going to get better, that's the crazy part.

Lusanagi17

I understand why you guys might not have liked the animation this episode but it was just another type of style you guys havent seen/noticed before. This kinda thing allows the animators to convey the movement and the flow way better while doing minimal sacrifices. I'm not saying you can't dislike it, but you should form an informed opinion.

svtcaratft

ahah Cannon'l laught at the begging is 😆👌 and why his foot covered with GeK logo 😆

Thomas Juino

Blood manipulation is hereditary technique of the Kamo clan For the Zenin clan it's the Ten Shadows that Megumi has And for the Gojo clan... well, it's Limitless XD

Philbo

Honestly for panda, the guy kinda of explained it that since he is a panda he didn’t have any sense of his surroundings in shibuya. He most definitely wasnt the leader of there group if anything maki was lol and he is always that goofy, he is very combat smart but outside of that definitely not the smartest guy around and the “I’m a panda. That doesn’t apply to me” was a joke lol cause she said that she didn’t like indecisive men or something.

Ryan Pebeck

This animation style is very heavy in "Sakuga" which focuses heavily on the hand-drawn elements. It's fine to not prefer it, a lot of people don't but it takes an insane amount of skill and talent to execute long scenes like that. I think watching more of it gives you more appreciation of it over time.

Cannon Andrus
>>121831170

We went back and watched some season 1 clips after, and he seemed a lot different to all of us between the 2

Jack mayfield

so much amazing stuff that adds to the lore this episode, another week of waiting in pain 😔

Mia Malvik

Rip dad😞 The animation is amazing though wtf😭. You can tell it's just a different style, it's more hand drawn instead of heavily produced and it takes extreme skill to pull that off. But it's ok to have preferences

BipolarKitten

Even with the censored, I still can see hole in his sock at 26:43

Carrie

Pretty depressing that the best thing Toji ever did for Megumi was kill himself 😢 RIP Papaguro

Izaya

Panda was always a clown. rewatch season 1. And where did yall take that he was the "leader", or whatever, of the second years? I think yall just read the character wrong in season one

Daniie Evans

OH SHIT IT'S MAHORAJA TIME BITCHES!! He is DEFINITELY bigger than Todo xD Next week is about to be even more insane, somehow every week it just gets worse and worse for our characters but more insane storywise and i love it

Frizen

The "animation" was not downgraded. They changed the artstyle and the usual approach of drawing characters to get the most movement possible and individual artistic expression from the animators. It's fine if you guys don't like the approach but the "animation" itself was definitely the highest priority of the episode. It's possibly the most animated episode of the season.

Mason Schutz

I love how panda has always had silly simple dialogue and these guys are like “What did they do to Panda he was so smart!” 😭😭😂 just go back and look at his dialogue. Even when he saved Megumi from Todo in season 1 he was saying how Todo should “go home or he’ll start screaming ‘noooo!’” Lmfao another time he literally says he can’t understand human language because “I’m panda.”

Aurora

completely agree about the animation, I know a lot of people love this style but personally it looks like it's a rough draft of what should be the final work.

Bri

Toji killing himself is probably my favorite moment in the whole series. I gasped so loud when it happened in the manga. He was a terrible father after Megumi’s mom died but at the end of the day a part of him loved Megumi. Not gonna lie I love Kusakabe 😂 he maybe a coward but he also knows he doesn’t stand a chance down there. He’s realistic. Jacks comment on red light green light was on point 😂

Carrie

It took me a minute to adjust to this style of animation too, but it would have been difficult to achieve the level of scale and fluidity of this fight if they maintained the detail they had with the season 1 style

Valde

Crazy how I thought the animation was like 10/10 for this episode yet people are still complaining

keandre deas
>>121832816

Thank u I'm hearing them say this like huh did we all watch the same season 1🤣🤣🤣

keandre deas
>>121831836

Oh is that who that was at the end I've heard alot about em isn't that the last shikigami that megumi has?

The Quadfather
>>121831170

I took it as Panda was just acting that way because he was taking orders from a superior. He was offering good suggestions(like to go find Gojo) but he was being overruled and scolded so he’s being subservient to a superior’s orders. In Japan it’s way more taboo than America to question your elders.

ShadowCat

Such an amazing episode. 👏 I totally understand the preference with the animation, but I personally love the animation in this episode. I feel like it expresses how fast, rough and intense the fight is. It gives it a feral feel, very much Sukuna's vibe.

mclv mclv

I loved the animation

giannhs giannhs

that was one of the best animated episodes in the whole series and some people saying that its bad animation cause it wasnt the normal jjk animation style smh

Philbo
>>121832816

I mean even in the movie lol trying hook maki and yuta up 😂

Joie Dianzon

MAPPA did their best, considering the condition they were in right now. 😔 So, we get to see one huge disaster after another on the next episodes… 💔

Asbjørn Kennedy

Animation was bonkers this episode! Also, didnt Gojo call Jogo “weak” in a mocking tone back in S1? It’s crazy to see both how strong he actually is, and even more so to have Sukuna acknowledge that

spring deerling

I think some people think clean immaculate lines = better and that's simply not the case. It can help convey motion or passion in a scene. I like traditional paintings that have a lot of chunky paint texture cause I feel like it adds to the painting. I think some styles in animation do the same thing. Some of the best scenes in FMAB have the amazing sketchy look to them that helps convey the heat of the moment.

Schwifty_Ant

This style of animation honestly helps a ton with the fluidity of the movement

Di

The animation for this episode was amazing. lol i thought some of you were naruto fans. They switch up the animation and make it fluid for very fast action sequences.

bondbond53

Bro some of y'all watched Naruto fights like the Pain one so idk how you don't know about the simplification of character models for very fluid and elite animation. This easily the best animated episode of anime this year

Ninjinzo

8:45 not sure how u guys mixed up kamo clan and zenin clan. Kamo clan hereditary CT is the blood convergence which you cant get if you're a zenin. Only the kamo clan could. What toji was referring to was the 10 Shadows technique which megumi has.

studiogek

We have officially been educated on this different form of animation lol. We would never want to discredit anything these incredible animators do and the time and effort they put in to make these shows come to life. Thank you all for informing us🫶🏽

Kale
>>121837180

I mean this episode is a big special exception for this season, a special team who worked on lots of other EXTREMELY well known scenes and they had a whole 4 months as a team to work on it 🤷‍♂️ shit was incredible, had me curlin my toes lowkey 🙃

bondbond53
>>121840831

It's cool guys. As long as the animators are appreciated. Just know that top tier animation is not only Demon Slayer type animation.

Ninjinzo

the clean style of animation here in this episode is an artistic style. For the simplicity. Alot of anime's such as mob psycho does this style to make it more fluid

Zonbi

Damn bro, can tell you guys didnt grow up with classic anime with the way some of the comments complain about the animation. When you're on a budget with time constraints, you cant have both detail and fluidity all at once for a 24+ episode series. The animation looked amazing. Crazy what they can do with limited resources.

Joie Dianzon
>>121837180

The disaster I was talking about are the succeeding events since Sukuna is already out, not the animation. The animators are doing good.

Carrie
>>121837990

I was thinking this exact thing. The style reminds me of Impressionist paintings, where the focus is on depicting the feeling, experience, & composition of a scene well, rather than detail. Even though it’s less precise it still takes skill & artistry to achieve

Mansxlook _05

Why are yall censoring cannons feet😭

notchrisramirez

I heard that they sacrificed the artistic style in order to make the animation of the fight much more fluid and smoother.

notchrisramirez
>>121840831

If you want some of the most insane fight scenes in anime with this level of fluidity in animation (an imo better looking style) DEFINITELY watch Mob Psycho 100. Such a goated anime. I feel like ya'll would love it.

CHIEF
>>121843155

Okay well that's the problem then, I haven't said anything bc it's a personal preference but if there's an option to wait another year or 6months and it look better I'd take it. You are admitting then that the animation is objectively lower quality? Regardless of explanations as to why, I still like the show I just want to be honest about the animation.

notchrisramirez

ITS MAHORAGA TIME. Yall aint ready for the literal definition of BROKEN and I AM HIM.

CHIEF
>>121840831

I'll be the one to go out on a limb and say I'm very disappointed with the animation. I personally liked the old style and I don't think saying so is in any way an "attack" on the animators lmfao. If you want to say it's the management's fault and not the animators I'll totally agree, but I'm not gonna pretend it's objectively "good" animation as a whole, there are VERY good scenes and some VERY bad *IMO*, idk why people get so offended over it let's just talk it out lmfao

Enma

I'm not sure what they were talking about when it came to animation quality. This form of animation is known as "sakuga," where almost every frame is meticulously hand-drawn. The purpose behind sakuga is to create exceptionally fluid and dynamic animation, paying close attention to detail while incorporating a creative use of motion and effects. This style of animation is highly regarded due to the painstaking effort, time, and skill required to produce it. Personally, it's my favorite animation style because it showcases the remarkable talent and skill of the animators and truly pushes the boundaries of animation. I highly recommend checking out Mob Psycho 100, Ping Pong: The Animation, and Devilman Crybaby for more examples of amazing sakuga animation. It's somewhat surprising that they don't recognize this style from other anime, particularly Naruto, which did use this style of animation in some of its most memorable fight scenes.

Noah
>>121832025

yeah there's way more moving frames and it makes the episodes and fights look far more dynamic

Coen
>>121843155

Maybe it looks less clean and modern than anime's you're used to. But it was incredibly flued and the hand drawn style is just in another world. Movie style quality this episode. It's fair to have preferences, but this wasn't less quality in the slightest. Just different

neko

Panda hasn't changed at all, he's just being playful and sometimes loves playing dumb. We saw him like that in season 1 and the movie as well. Edit: That person with white-red hair appeared in the scene when Haruta(handsword guy that got punched by Nanami) stabbed Ijichi and the assistants. That person also appeared in season 1 in the beach scene and as we know now, it's Dagon's doamin.

leah

the next 2-3 episodes are about to be INSANE. cant wait for your reactions!!

Cookie

It’s jjk Thursday

alex anderson

After watching this I kinda felt bad for jogo, because he was one of the best villains weve had in the show so far and his only purpose was to be a punching bag and to show how powerful gojo and sukuna are. But something that interested me was sukunas lecture to jogo. Sukuna talks about how curses and humans are always measuring themselves based on others, but it therefore limits how much they can achieve. Im wondering how exactly sukuna got his power when he was alive because based on his words, it kinda sounds like he was the opposite of gojo, where he wasnt given an op technique at birth, but worked his ass off in order to get to the place he is now.

notchrisramirez
>>121847830

to spoil is to say what’s gonna happen. I simply gave a name and very vague description. If anything ur spoiling it by saying it’s a spoiler.

Ale

I love this animation style, I know is not everyone cup of tea so if you guys find it a bit off it's fine, but a few of my favorites anime has this kind of animation like Mob Psycho and Devil man crybaby and a few other anime that have some episodes with it so I'm glad jjk has now one like this. I have always believed that Toji did care for Megumi in his own way, he "sold" him to the clan just because he knew that he will be talented and the clan will give him a better life, however when he told Gojo about him, I think he was hoping his child actually didn't end up with the clan and instead have Gojo look up for him, Toji was hated on his clan so of course he wouldn't feel like living his son there after all. At least that's my perception of his character and the fact that he gets happy after hearing Megumi is still "Fushiguro" and not Zen'in so he killed the body so the technique could end and stop harming his son. Also you guys have the clans mixed up, the 3 main clans value the 3 main hereditary techniques which are Kamo = blood manipulation Zen'in = 10 shadows Gojo = Infinity (6 eyes very rarely is born a user with both) But within the clans there are other techniques, like Naobito, the old guy, that had that Frame technique, it's supposed that nobody that is not part of the clan can't be born with the clan's technique. I love Jackson's "you wanted you got it" 😂😂😂 And Cannon's feet are censored!? 🤨

Zonbi
>>121843155

@Chief This is just silly. They have limited time and resources. Also, the more effort they put in, the more they eventually hit diminishing returns. How many more people are going to watch the show just because the animation has 6 more months of work? I would guess 99.999% of people who were gonna watch it wont change their minds just because they changed animation styles to create epic scale fights. These people have to make money to keep going. That means efficient use of resources. You cant spend months and months extra on a product for no return on investment.

pyx

Nah it's completely understandable for the art style change to be jarring especially just after coming from peak AOT animation where the detailed character models were consistent throughout. In my personal opinion, I feel like the sakuga style is better suited for pure hand to hand combat fight scenes. (It was done exceptionally well in yuji vs choso) Regardless, it's been an amazing adaptation so far given the insane schedule that the animators had to work with. Love the sequences they added to the Toji vs Megumi fight.

Brayden

idk if this is true but i heard that one person animated this ep and then there was the production staff. the animation was peak but it was the artstyle of it that threw u guys off. the reason why they toned down the artstyle is so the animation could be more fluid since it was a fast paced fight.

ChrisBrah-4

jjk served as a temporary cure to aot depression 😢

Joydan Bri’an

nah this episode was insane. i like the art style a lot actually. it allowed for more fluidity in the movements, but i can see how it can be jarring. it reminded me of that one fight in naruto shippuden ifykyk

Mysterious Figure

A lot of these comments trying to educate you guys about what Sakuga is have plenty of wrong information about it. I suggest you google or better yet watch a youtube video explaining what Sakuga is. It doesn't mean it will always look like it does in this show because it depends on how the animator himself decides to draw his frames. Some animators will create Sakuga level scenes WHILE ALSO retaining ALL the detail on the characters, and most of the time episodes like these that are super important tend to be given to a SINGLE animator to solo animate and he basically splashes his own "trademark" style all over it. Other animators have different preferences and choices. Educate yourself elsewhere, because if you expect to be educated in a comment section here you're gonna miss a lot of important knowledge. There are very good videos about what Sakuga is on youtube.

CHIEF
>>121862060

Yeah I don't know much about animation styles but their arguments were essentially, "it is Sakuga therefore it is good" and I literally just took the lsat, I know a bad argument when I see it lol. They may very well be right but if we're comparing apples I like the way Mob does it better, and it took me a while to get used to in that show. Again, it's not even "bad" and I appreciate those who understand the complaint, people just gotta be honest

Frizen
>>121859612

Nah one person didn't animate the ep but certain animators did animate large chunks themselves. For example Nakaya Onsen animated basically everything that had to do with Megumi and Toji. Of course there was also several other animators sprinkled around the episode.

Diana Rodriguez ⛓️
>>121847830

They read this comment section when you give out names like this, they will likely look it up, you in fact spoiled it for me bc its not hard to deduce what you’re talking about, kindly delete it.

CHIEF
>>121843155

You're describing corporate decisions that simply aren't my problem as a consumer, and AoT took 4 years for 12 more episodes, still popular as anything by the time it wrapped up. I'd argue that excusing (inferred) poorer quality brought about by certain corporate practices (For which Mappa is already lambasted) only incentivizes those practices. I'm saying if the overwork criticism is valid, you can't then defend the lesser products that are brought about by it. Again, I know the animators are insane and I wish *Mappa* would take more time, and I am not by any means disappointed with the show as a whole. I said in another reply I LOVE some scenes but I think the lows that do come are worse than season 1 would've had. In the end it's subjective as to what people prefer, I just want to be a (hopefully) rational voice of criticism.

Can’t touch this Stone
>>121831170

Well Japan definitely isn’t as great as they want us to think. Ignoring that I won’t lie panda does seem a bit yoinked in this episode

Johnny

Funny how people call out the best looking episode for having the worst animation. But ignore the broken mess that's episode 14 😂

Coran

The animation and art style for the Jogo and Sukuna fight were literally amazing, y’all have no idea what you’re talking about.

pyx
>>121847830

why even say the name though or that he's OP/broken which can imply a lot of things? please be considerate for anime onlys even if you think you're in the right about this.

Coran
>>121840831

Because for the most part it is objectively good, you said it yourself that YOU liked the old art style better, that doesn’t mean this one is objectively bad. This style of animation is just as difficult if not more than the more clean lines, it means less detail but more effort has to be put into the movement.

Solivigant Kaiba
>>121827775

Hanagaki Takemichi from Tokyo Revengers. And, I will NOT be hearing any if ands or buts ab him.🥰🥰 Toji and Michi.

ffltscat

A typical case of the importance of animation quality. Missing the previous anime style but understand Mappa’s situation. Btw what's that random pink sakura gek icon on Cannon's feet lol?

Azquidif

I'm a super big fan of sketchy and super stylized animation so I personally loved this epsiode. It is absolutely jarring when it switches from one to another though, JJK has had a very "normal and real" look to it so far so I think this would have been a lot nicer for people in general if the art style was like it was with Jogo vs Sukuna the whole time.

Azquidif
>>121843155

It's probably more of an acquired taste, but I think this animation is super solid. The stylization is already sick but they also really nailed it with the weight of the attacks, which I personally think was probably the biggest issue (at least for me) with some of the earlier episodes of season 2. It's certainly different, and I'd imagine you come to love it the more of it's kind you watch.

Manny

they mentioned that for fights like these which have a lot going on and like are happening at an extremely fast pace that they had to reduce the "cleanness of it" in a way so the fight would have a better flow and not look as choppy. So even though they dont look as clean I guess, this allows the fights to flow a lot better and look more fluid which is something that is necessary when these literal crazy monsters are fighting at the speed they are LMAOOOO

Jesse Gutierrez
>>121865298

and yet it was still a down grade as they said, stop whining and getting mad and saying they don't know what they're talking about as if their eyes are lying to them hahaha

Coen
>>121865298

It wasn't a downgrade at all lmao, it was just different. Up to preference if you like it or not, but definitely not a downgrade

DJ
>>121868936

They lowered the details because the production is really bad and if they tried to maintain the same detail lvls of Demon Slayer, AoT or even JJK S1 in such terrible conditions the animators would actually die. You can maintain details in fast-paced stuff, just requires better production schedules.

asge5hxdc

I loveeed the animation this episode!! Crazy people thought otherwise

Kamel

The animation of sukuna vs jogo fight reminded me so much of mob psycho, I personally loved the different take on the animation for the fight.

Reilly Keith

Honestly bad take about the animation they clearly puts tons of effort into this just in a different style I know mappa sucks and works them to death but they made a hell of a fight here

Jesse Gutierrez
>>121865298

It quite literally was a downgrade in terms of animation, I don't know how you can say otherwise lol. Do you immediately hear downgrade and think that means people think the animation is bad? S2 is a downgrade from S1 in terms of animation, does that mean S2 sucks? You people get so defensive over simple words it's hilarious

Seth Aasland

there was a light in toji’s eyes when he realized who megumi was 🥲 that got to me

Zonbi
>>121843155

@CHIEF They are absolutely still your problem because you're here complaining about them. The animation looked amazing. Im sure MAPPA knows a hell of a lot more about what is and isnt possible than you do. I rewatched the whole episode and Im now even more convinced the people complaining are trolling. When you say "take more time", you sound so entitled. I can still remember talking about DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho with my friends at school. About how amazing the shows were despite all the short cuts and quality drops. Can't even imagine whining about the animation style of a modern anime when it looks this amazing. There are lots of comments on this thread that explain in detail the strategy and thought process behind the animation style here. It even has a name apparently. Which makes sense because Ive seen it before. It was even employed as far back as YYH I know for a fact.

LuvStarburst

Jack really had to clap for the start of the video and go that hard.

Cruel Sun

Mysterious Figure
>>121865298

@Jesse Gutierrez You should learn about the distinction between "animation", and a single drawn picture or a frame. Animation in season 2 is miles ahead of anything we've seen in season 1, and this isn't an opinion. You can gauge the animation quality from the amount of frames per second per episode. If you only have mostly STATIC non "ANIMATED" (to ANIMATE means to make something come to life) pictures in a single episode, that means the animation is BAD, no matter how detailed and "beautifully drawn" the single non moving picture per frame is. So, if you objectively measure the amount of unique frames per episode between season 1 and 2, the answer is clear. The thing you have a problem with is that you dislike how the animator animated the "moving pictures". You dislike the animator's STYLE. Different animators make different decisions based on what they like so some of them completely distort a human body when animating fast moving scenes, to accomplish an effect of fast paced movement, as it is also the case in real life. When you see something moving really fast in real life, you wont see the detail on it due to it moving faster than your eye can follow. Some other animators, however, DONT animate fast moving objects this way, and choose to retain all the detail, which takes a lot of talent and TIME. Some people prefer some animator's styles over others - and ONLY this aspect is subjective. You are perfectly allowed to dislike the animator's style, but it is factually wrong to say it is "badly animated" when in fact, almost every episode in season 2 is the best animation we've seen in 2023. so far, and some of the best animation TO DATE.

Flowmotiiion

The animation clearly was nothing compared to yuji vs choso. Hate it or love it but this was the worst animated fight in the series so far. While being still good

A

The animation was a little different but I really didn’t mind. Not a bad animation style but obviously we’re not used to it for jjk. I still really enjoyed the episode and the fight scenes! Sukuna is insane and surprisingly I’ll miss Toji bc I didn’t like him at first lol

Flowmotiiion
>>121936005

Or just my opinion, why does it matter? If you like it you like it, it's really not that deep.

Dr Awde
>>121936005

But people are failing to recognize that what they're noticing and criticizing is art-style and not quality

Harrison Jay
>>121936005

Dude this is objectively the best animated episode. You can not like the artsyle, but on a purely technical level this is the best animated episode. Sakuga is incredible difficult and the key animator here worked on mob psycho, chainsaw man, and portions of other anime. Naruto vs. Sasuke 1, Naruto vs. pain, and Kakashi vs. Obito are all done in this style. Limited/ no shadows, line inconsistency, and dulled color to make the fight more fluid. You clearly don’t know animation if you think this is bad

Harrison Jay

Art style and animation are not the same thing, you can dislike the artstyle of this episode but this animation is objectively a technical masterpiece

Extrasauce

Man, I just can't get over how efficient Toji is. He confirmed Megumi's identity and then, without missing a beat, immediately killed himself before his son could ask for any missing Child Support.

Pavlo

“They took their time with toji, like they always do” 😭

MissJodles
>>121829148

It was animated by Itsuki Tsuchigami aka Miso who animated and storyboarded Mob Psycho 100 S2 Ep11 🙂 He’s super well known for the kagenashi (meaning "shadowless") style of animation, and his super fluid, continuous flowing action from one frame to the next. Love his work!

MissJodles
>>121862060

I think it’s because this is a combination of both sakuga AND kagenashi. So it has that sketchy hand-drawn aesthetic, as well as being pared down without shadows, so it’s double the difference from the usual look of the show. From an artistic perspective I think this episode was animated fantastically! The higher frame-rate and super dynamic camera angles and storyboarding look incredible to me. But I definitely understand people being more comfortable with the classic, clean-cut standard animation because it’s easier to "read" and less stylised. I think this style looked amazing for the chaos and action of this fight though!

Kyosuke Kagami

Jack is canonically the strongest in Gek squad. I'd say he's around 8 or 9 fingers worth.

Bryce Jones

I personally love when they go in and out of different animation styles. Brings some cool different emotions and movement to the scenes.

Vernus

You guys are thinking of animation wrong. If you look at the past 10 or so episodes there are like three distinct animation styles this is not the first time we have seen this style of animation. They use this animation style for sequences that involve a ton of movement like the Gojo fight right before he was sealed. Yuuji vs Choso was a much shorter fight with less moving parts overall. Therefore they can make the style and textures look masterful and take advantage of more lighting affects

Vernus

They did take shortcuts in the slow talking parts, that I can agree but even when panda was just looking around the station he had more movement then was necessary because of the “downgrade”

I am literally begging for anyone of you complaining about the animation to take less than a minute out of your day to go on twitter and look at all the animators having a break down talking about MAPPA's awful scheduling and terrible conditions that these animators have to work in. They are currently talking about giving up which will probably lead to JJK being put on a hiatus or something similar. Please don't blame the animators and instead blame MAPPA for the conditions that they are forcing their animators into.

i’m not going to lie, i’m starting to get disappointed in s2, hoping tomorrows episode does something to change it. ever since the geto reveal i feel like we lost a lot of interesting character interaction, instead of geto doing all of this because of his old relationships and new ideals he’s just a Big Bad doing Big Bad things. like before that we had context and backstory for his actions and he was easily the most interesting character to me, but now his body has just been taken over by another Thing and i feel like it takes away all of the character building we learned, even if the current actions align with how he might if acted if he was really alive.

i also feel like we’ve lost the plot on why these characters are fighting and motivated. obviously i understand what side everyone’s on (save gojo vs kill the good guys vs whatever sukunas motivations are( but it just feels like we’re watching fight side quests and not character motivated story right now. i personally loved the animation and illustration of this episode, so it’s not that for me but i feels like this arc is just shock and fighting and random villains. even if it all gets explained what everyone’s motivations are later, i feel completely disconnected to almost every character right now ever since gojo got sealed.

Yuta just chilling in some spa probably.

I think this season's start was way better than this Shibuya incident. Even if it was only a backstory. The only thing keeping this series together for me is only Toji and Nanami. Maybe Yuta also if he cares to show up. After episode 12 I have had no interest in this show other than Toji and Nanami. The plot isn't plotting right now for me. Yeah also Gojo locked up and we haven't seen him in many episodes now.

JJK is and has always been a very battle shonen show, so it''s understandable that some people who like shows that only stick to plot every episode won't like the fights, but personally, I think all these fights are what make JJK what it is and what it always has been. I'm a manga reader, and I really love JJK's plot. It has been building since Episode 1, so it's just a matter of time to see how everything unfolds, but I think all these fights and characters are what make JJK stand out from the rest.

In my opinion, I actually think that is what makes it more interesting. We started off the season learning more about Geto and the relationship that he had with the other sorcerers. After learning more about his character, I actually gained more respect for him (despite his cause). That’s also why the fact that he’s been taken over/defiled by that curse is all the more terrible. Because his body has been overtaken by that thing/curse, all sorcerers who encountered him (whether they agreed with him or not) would want to immediately exercise him out of respect/pity/empathy, etc. for him as a former sorcerer.

I know this was weeks ago but that is definitely further explained a bit later. At the time of your comment, no one knew that Geto’s body was the one up to this except for Meimei and Mei Mei is a bad person.
