We're working on the newest Coffeezilla video. Update soon.

In the meantime I have a fun one. Tell me if you've heard this one before.

Man starts challenge, bets against himself, fails the challenge, makes a huge profit...gets arrested for terrorism allegations.

Yeah it was new for me too...here's the scoop.

"Lord Miles" is a British Youtuber who was previously best known for being captured by the Taliban and later being released.

More recently he started "40 day water fast in the desert" which you could bet on via POLYMARKET--an online betting site.

$14 million dollars were bet on this bizarre stunt, whether he would finish or not.

It looked like he would finish the challenge when suddenly Miles disappeared without warning, leaving the bet resolved "NO".

Quickly people found an old tweet of Miles showing his crypto accounts, and were able to trace funds from Miles to a wallet which bet against Miles finishing the fast...

Leaving Miles +$60,000 in profit for failing.

The aftermath was even stranger.

After disappearing, the sponsor of the event came out to declare Miles dead.

Lucky for Miles, his own account later declared Miles alive but in Saudi Arabia intelligence custody under detainment for "terrorism" charges.

Miles blames the crypto betting on an Afghan friend.

I am deeply skeptical of the latter part of this timeline... there has so far been no concrete proof of Miles' status.

Tell me what you think of this insanity.

youtuber scams his fans, gets imprisoned for terrorism

a bizarre story of "lord miles" who was doing a 40 day water fast in a saudi arabia desert when he disappeared. i got in touch with miles, who now claims to have been imprisoned on false terrorism allegations, and denies scamming people. the blockchain suggests otherwise. support: https://www.patreon.com/coffeezilla disclaimer (updated May 2025): voidzilla is an opinion‑driven channel that comments on the news of the day under the satirical and rhetorically hyperbolic banner “CRIME IS LEGAL.” the phrase critiques what we see as a lax or uneven regulatory enforcement environment for fraud. unlike our affiliated channel Coffeezilla, which conducts detailed investigations and source‑document deep dives, and draws opinions from that, voidzilla offers rapid‑fire commentary and criticism on information already in the public domain. statements here reflect the host’s views at the moment of recording and may become outdated as facts evolve. references to “crime,” “fraud,” “scam,” or similar terms appear in a rhetorical hyperbolic context similar to “CRIME IS LEGAL.” unless we expressly state that a court has entered a final judgment, no segment should be read as a definitive finding of legal liability. viewers are urged to consult primary sources and form independent conclusions. production of this program is public‑interest commentary protected by the First Amendment and the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA). anyone featured in this program who believes a material error has occured may contact our business email with supporting documentation under the SUBJECT: "CORRECTION REQUEST". we will promptly review substantiated notices and, where appropriate, issue corrections or updates.

Notification so bizarre it woke me from my scrolling spell

The difference between fiction and non-fiction is that fiction has to make sense. This story is so bizarre it must be true.

Situation so bizarre the title reads like click bait 😂 looking forward to watching

It totally was him. Probably thought getting detained for real would look less suspicious. Had a friend dox him so he would lose the bet. You can deny food in jail, Ghandi did it for years.

These betting markets are getting out of hand.. to see THAT much money being bet on a guy to finish a water fast is insanity. The internet is in a weird state at the moment

KnockKnockitstheKGB

Watch Lord Miles fans be like "hahaha le based" like a bunch of edgelords still stuck on Pol

Very curious that if Miles is "detained" in Saudi, why has the UK government not been involved to obtain his release? Just saw a post on twitter saying any youtuber who wants to visit Miles in Saudi Arabia in jail they are welcome to do so provided no doxxing or recording in the jail. 🤣🤣🤣 Bizzare that the only reports of this come from X and Polymarket. No UK news outlet is reporting it. No mention of the British Embassy or Consulate being involved.. I call Bull Sh1t

Did the video get pulled? It just tells me to sign in when I hit play

oh god not the meme page admin from my uni again

Jesse Clynikal

Yawn. Why people would bet on this kind of nonsense is well beyond my comprehension.

James Rule

Scammers never need the money.

Wouldn't there be some sort of national incident report between this arrest and his home country? Even complete nobodies trigger international response when detained in foreign countries. You could try calling or mailing his home countries embassy in the uae to figure this out. This is one of the few reasons diplomats even exist in embassies.

Susanne Christians

sounds like a normal "sports"bet "pay to lose"scam to me ...

So hard to follow. A guy scams people doing something that he won’t do, then disappears with the money. Oh. K.

Hehe, to send a screenshot of an email "confirming the below" with the stuff below cropped out and to use that as a "proof" is impressively lazy. Miles could have typed in anything and taken a screenshot of that, but this instead took even less effort.

Coffee, just saw the Cody news, we need a new merch drop or a higher patreon tier, fuck bad faith people trying to sue :)
