Here's our latest deep-dive into the gambling epidemic. I discuss Rogan, Theo Von, and other celebrity's embracing of the casinos, along-side the way we're injecting hyper-gambling culture into every aspect of culture.

Thank you for your patience on this one, it took a lot of research. We have a couple more in the pipeline, the next Coffeezilla video should be out in a few weeks.

Important: Please don't share the link, this is for Patrons only. The rest of the world will see it later. if the links get leaked, I have to start exclusively uploading to Patreon's servers, which limit to 1080p and are a worse viewing exp, I'd rather keep it an honor system because Youtube has such smooth playback for most people.

The slogan does not assert that illegal conduct is actually permissible; it underscores regulatory gaps and the impossibility of declaring something as illegal on a factual basis. All content herein constitutes commentary and opinion based on investigative journalism conducted with (i) publicly available documents, (ii) interviews, and (iii) other verifiable sources. References to “scams,” “fraud,” “theft,” or related terms are explicitly opinions and made in the same rhetorically hyperbolic context of “CRIME IS LEGAL” and should not be taken as definitive findings of fact or legal conclusions. Facts, evidence, and independent analysis are used in this program to draw strongly opinionated conclusions, but it is important to draw a sharp distinction between the facts and evidence presented, and the opinions drawn based on such material. No statement can or should be interpreted as a categorical declaration that any person has violated civil or criminal law unless a court has so ruled. I’m so excited to watch this!! I’ve been looking for more people to cover the sheer scale of this epidemic. I’ve never seen so many gambling ads in my life.

Orcawarrior2

IT IS ABOUT TIME SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT THIS! Thank you coffeezilla for not letting their money silence your journalism. Keep up the good work!

Ramona Chatman-Morris

I swear I was JUST writing a comment on reddit about the Gamblization of everything and then I got a notification for this video. Such an important topic. Love the new intro as well. Also as a social worker this inspired me to find gambling addiction resources for the people I work with.

Nina Mcmunn

Patreon servers garbage agreed

Ada MC

🫡 aye aye! Thanks!

Dan Aimone

It’s a good day when you get an early coffeezilla video

Ken Shufflebottom

I just simply don't understand the celebs doing ads for Fan Duel and other gambling sites. Like, why?! You can't possibly need the money. It's just so bizarre.

Robert

Shit homie, we ain’t just cooked, we deep fried.

Dan Aimone

FYI @coffeezilla the TikTok username for the kid at 2:33 didn’t get blurred out.

tuto

Can't watch football without seeing ~50 ads of gambling during the hole game ..

Jessica

In some ways, I also think apps like Robin Hood led to more people gambling in the stock market. It ran up share prices on companies that had no business being that high

Crawler00

As David Xanatos once said: "Pay a man enough, he'll walk barefoot into hell."

Naddle

Coffeezilla is the backbone of our society.

Nikola Irinchev

This comes in the same week as Denmark passing legislation to limit gambling, especially among young people. We'll have to see how effective those measures turn out to be, but it's reassuring governments are not oblivious to the dangers and some have the balls to take action.

It is videos like this that make a patreon sub worthwhile. It is a shame we are so far down the rabbit hole and people always think they will be the winners...mainly, of course, they won't be.

Mike Gervasi

Great video. Not a fan of the new intro.

Kieran Elliott

I like a little wager, but my word it's gotten out of hand the last few years.

BIG DOG AUS

Excellent video! An important subject.

Norman Pappous

Sent you a DM a month ago - do you not monitor your Patreon?

Super_Monster_2011

noone decent left in this world, everybody is sold out.

Mike Gervasi

Stake and all those others are fixed across the board. Just watch a streamer play for 100k a hand on blackjack and watch the cards screw them every time. Should also have mentioned the BIG fine print. "Playthrough" on bonus money. Sometimes 10-100X

The Last Scientist

Typically stuff like this (Sackler, opiates) only gets regulated after 10-20 years of accumulated damage. Even then some things never get fixed. MLMs are still operating even though the participants are virtually guaranteed to lose money - if I am not mistaken they are worse than gambling. Aside from some weak disclosure requirements they are still operating. I appreciate everything you do - but the good guy doesn't always win.

Jammy Donut

If you can’t beat them, join them! Now introducing CoffeeBet, where you can predict and cash in on how many lives and families will be destroyed by online gambling. Keep up the good work and stay positive. It can’t be easy constantly learning about the worst parts of society and feeling unable to make positive change.

Thanat0s

I'm not sure if what you're doing is really useless. The gambling problem does get insanely bigger, that's true , but maybe your videos warned some people and avoided more lives to be destroyed. "Anyone who saves a life is as if he saved an entire world". Great video. Thanks for that.

Ema

A very important video to make! Though I have to confess, hearing people being offered millions of dollars... It's a real thinker, if I'd be able to turn that down myself. In this economy, especially with the government shut down, it's so easy to think about the kind of security that money would give me, my family, my aging parents whose retirement is in jeopardy... But you'd also have to remember the people who are actually funding that isn't the casino, it's all money from addicts and normal people. You have to be okay with the knowledge that you're taking their money, not some faceless corporation.

DcX

What can be done against living in fully financial world where honest work is not rewarded and everyone is forced to find different ways of income... including gambling. Sad. Perhaps even more delevant now, with jobs being cut due to AI agents.

John R. Mayne

I spend a few days in Vegas gambling each year, and I am usually up. (There are two things people can win on, poker and sports. I am up on both this year and last year, and hopefully next year.) I'm not anti-gambling! But you see these ads, "Bet your hunch!" or saying that you don't have to be serious to win. If you're advertising, "Hey this is fun, have a sweat," that seems less noxious. The people who are winning are not betting hunches. But really, I came here to say: Right or wrong, short or shorter, Coffee's got standards and sticks to them. Respect.

Zach

Hey Coffee - great video. Wanted to add to this because I thought you might find it interesting. Tonight on Coinbase's earnings call, Brian Armstrong at the end of the call said "now let me pull up the predicition markets for the works Coinbase will say on its earnings call" and proceeded to list off all the terms he hadnt said yet. Crazy.

Patrick Taylor

Admirable to include JRE in this and even reach out for comment. Not being beholden to your appearance there is real journalism

Drakescoffeecake

Looks like I joined your Patreon at the right time. Heard of Toshi.Bet? You should take a glance or message me if you’d like some info.

I'm in Australia and have noticed a significant uptick in gambling advertising in the past 12 months; even mainstream services like Netflix are pushing sports betting onto viewers now. I think the normalisation of gambling through podcasters & gaming streamers is definitely part of the problem, particularly when their target audiences are impressionable young people.

Colin Gunn

I haven't even watched it yet (about to) but coffeezilla is the reason I set up a patreon account, I want to support him, I'm not rich but I do want to support the important work the Stephen does

Zorana Gavrilović

Bro it's the gamblification of the world. You wouldn't believe how many casinos there are in my country and the neighboring countries, they are at every corner and they are never empty. Gambling ads are everywhere and the amount of my friends who work for casinos (because they can't find anything better on the job market) keeps increasing...
