Where we've been? Production purgatory on a big video. Suffering from Hofstadter's law.

definition: a task always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law.

Take all the time you need. You always get things right. And healthcare is not a “fast” subject 🫠

ArtyLubear

Honestly I can only speak for me, but I really don’t mind waiting for your main videos if it means you’re doing things you love while uncovering interesting/important cases. Regardless it’s appreciated and I look forward to your new videos!!!

Joshua Duarte

Damn I just cancelled my sub this morning - been subbed for years and it seems like these days there’s literally no reason to be subbed. There used to be Patreon exclusive videos, early releases etc and now it’s just months on months of nothing. Been dumping $5 a month for over a year to get no return anymore

Victor Lam

Look forward to it. Hear all sorts of stories about the healthcare system.

SuperiorStagg

Coffeezilla taking on the biggest scam in the US? I'm all here for it!

Sin

While the lack of content is annoying, the quality of your content more than makes up for it. I will keep supporting you for as long as I can afford it. Please keep doing what you do. ❤️💼🔍

V

To me, you’re one of the most important journalists today. Whatever you and your team are doing and however long it takes, it’s worth the wait

Wendy the Welder

How the hell did you start looking into American healthcare and think it was A. A good idea and B. Simple? I thought it was common knowledge that it's the biggest humanitarian nightmare factory by default lol

Andrew Hooper

Thanks for the update. I was wondering just the other day what was going on with you and your team.

Malcolm Bullock

Tough tasks dont last only tough people last

Jeff Maggio

Im hyped for this one. Healthcare is such a rats nest I can only imagine your conspiracy board

Mike Gervasi

"Lets investigate Health Care. It's easy" said no one ever..until now. Voidzilla keeps me satisfied until the large ones.

LeapPod

You have nothing to feel bad over. You do good work. Good work takes times.

Andrew B

Whenever you go quiet I always start wondering what the next reporting is going to blow up- these things take time, and the more complex and deeper the dive, the more time it takes to make sure you don’t get sued. I support you here exactly for this reason- I want you to do that investigative reporting that I love so much, and not have to worry about feast or famine in your production schedule to rush something out the door.

Orcawarrior2

Oh god that is a doozy of a topic. Good luck Coffee and team

Ali Fareed MC

Investigate the Mansells too their stories have holes.

Peter Jansen

I understand it’s antithetical to the algorithm/average viewers but I appreciate you taking the extra time to get this right. This mentality behind making content builds trust.

Tim T

Yeah , we (Canada) have big problems with health care scams up here too. Fake doctors, doctors over billing, doctors billing patients that don't exist. And since most doctor's visits are just rubber stamped and billed to the government, there's no oversight and not enough auditors.

RealestBunn

Your videos are ALWAYS worth the wait and you and your small team deserve the monthly support. I may not be able to afford the new merch but I am very excited for what it'll be 👀

Gretchen Martin

I have no complaints about the timing of content. My purpose in this subscription is to help fund your investigations. It's not about the personal gain. It's about supporting someone who gives a sh!t and that's becoming more rare these days.

Novel

Yeah, so a lot of people think healthcare is simple until they need it. Then that's when the scam happens.

Warren Commission Test Skull

Simply tying health insurance to employment is so insane. Why should your most petty tyrannical supervisor have such material control over your family’s health and wellbeing, life and death.

The Last Scientist

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the investigation.

Kyle G

There’s totally no money in health care!?! At a loss for where there could be fraud…

Angel Barranco

I was just wondering this morning. But I get it - looking forward to the next!

Aloy Sakai

Best of luck trying to tackle healthcare. Your investigations are always worth the wait, so no worries. Take your time. Thank you for the update!

Chrishankhah

It sounds like you may be stuck in a strange loop!

Luis Liz

Lmao i wouldn’t expect you to mention HEALTHCARE!! way simpler than even the all the trump scams. This is me with every side project I start

Treat

Attempting to expose possibly the biggest scam business in history? I'll see ya next year friend. Good luck and stay safe.

Ken Shufflebottom

You're doing the hard, good work out there man. When you cook, we always eat well

Ben

I support on patreon so you can take the time you need to do it right :)

GoatManOfCheese

Hasn't even felt like it's been that long since the lego video 🤷🏻‍♀️

aizen

Take you time bro, we all know you are too busy fighting crime, which is legal now

shrgnatlas

I live in the United States and I'm currently recovering from my 4th micro discectomy in 5 months. While I appreciate my neurosurgeon and his team, it has been incredibly difficult to get re-approved for the same surgery even though the surgeons have deemed it medically necessary due to my L5 disc reherniating. Insurance wants to know *why* it is reherniating *so* soon after each successive surgery, to the point that before my last emergency visit my neurosurgeon had to outright explain on one of those "peer-to-peer" phone calls that whether my reherniations were degenerative or congenital weren't really important because I was present with risk of permanent paralysis and they *needed* to operate. My most recent surgery was July 7th and I still haven't received approval for my hospitalization from my insurance company.

Squiggly

dude once this comes out, you should go on Doctor Mikes podcast to promote it. Also would be an interesting convo.

SkepticGhost

As an author myself I totally get this! No rush man! We value the work that you do during these trying times! Edit: Oh, and welcome to why I consider health insurance to be a scam lol.

b.evil.c

Keep us informed and I am happy to keep supporting you.

Seth Munroe

Definitely appreciate the quality over quantity approach. Honestly I was glad to hear you tossed that first part in the trash. It tells me you are doing well enough to be able to reject something you weren't happy with even after investing time and money into it.

ewink

Coffee, your investigative journalism is so important right now given the gutting of legacy media. Take your time!

Ross Vincent

I like the new "ZILLA" on the mic, but sad that the Shure sponsorship fell through.

DANNY DE HEK

Good things come to those who wait

PizzaPasNette

Like a lot of comments here, I prefer you taking the time to do a subject the right way than release it too fast and not tackle it in its entirety. I'm supporting you because you're doing this the right way, so I don't mind the waiting time. Take care of yourselves :)

Brian Gibson

Yeah, I'm not really concerned. I support you just because what you do takes a lot of work, time and plenty of headaches.

Louise Cross

Hey Coffee, we know when you do release something it will be worth the wait. Hope you and your family are all good. 😊

Disorder

Another favorite creator of mine (DGlaucomflecken) just received a cease and desist from Prime Healthcare for covering their acquisition practices. I know you're already suffering under the massive weight of this project, but if you haven't reached out to him already, I feel like he'd be an amazing resource for you with great insights. --- Your content is always worth the wait, and I'm excited for the merch drop. I'm always happy when you do them and an obscene % of my closet is now Coffeezilla tshirts. My friends watch you as well so I always pick up some extra to give to them but I'm apparently toxic and don't end up sharing and they just become backup tshirts. US healthcare is a supremely disturbing monster because the evil is done in real time in broad daylight with surgical precision, and it impacts millions of people.

Michael Johnson

I support you here for exactly the reason that you don't need to feel obliged to publish crap on time.

Michael Johnson

I know I will have a good black laugh at any exposé of the US healthcare scam. Twelve years ago I was diagnosed with stage four cancer. I had multiple MRI and CT scans, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Thankfully, I'm still here and I'm not bankrupt or trying to service a crippling debt for the rest of my life. Guess what? I don't live in the USA and I'm very, very glad that I don't.

Hammad Yusuf

Take your time Coffee! I have a suggestion that might help. Do a surprise Drip episode with Amish and let the story out with a free flow. That would be fun for you and the old audience, and Amish and the others can give feedback on what to trim etc. Just saying!

Shanita Andrews

This is hilarious. As someone who worked almost their entire adult life in healthcare administration at a giant university hospital, I died laughing the moment you said "healthcare". Sometimes, it's as basic as Did you know not everyone walking in with a doctor for your exam is actually supposed to be there? As in, we once got scammed by some Saudis because no one wanted to listen to me? Or the "Executive Directors" who are paid as consultants even if the most contact they've had with the hospital in two fiscal years is getting cc'ed on an email? Fraudulent billing, covering malpractice, graduating New doctors who don't have two neurons to rub together, setting up pill mills in rural hospitals with no oversight where it's earlier to slip Medicare fraud under the radar... the list goes on and on. It's impossible to change the system from within. You're better off rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. But I'm still glad you're covering this. Education is a safety mechanism.

Psych Tricks

Newbie here - and honestly, I'm kinda glad it took you a little bit because it's been giving me some time to binge watch all of the old content, while also trusting that the new content is going to be good! The only thing I'm missing (and this is a me problem) is a single playlist that goes from the very beginning to the present (because you can't watch a playlist in reverse so if the new stuff is on top, it doesn't work!).
