[No Segs won the poll]

[Later That Night]

Chloe stayed longer than she had planned.

One drink became two shots after Lucifer insisted their second successful case deserved a proper celebration. The alcohol warmed her chest and softened the tightness that had followed her since morning, though it did very little to make Lucifer’s explanations sound reasonable.

He sat beside her at the bar, looking perfectly sober despite drinking far more than she had. And Alexandra listened to their little banter with an amused smile while sipping her mocktail. Heck, she was surprised when they talked about the case and how Dillion was the killer.

“So, let me understand this,” Chloe said as she placed the empty shot glass on the counter. “You can make people confess their deepest desires, move faster than I can see, survive getting shot, and open handcuffs without a key.”

Lucifer nodded while lifting his scotch. “You’re finally making progress, Detective.”

Chloe looked at him with narrowed eyes. “And your explanation for all of this is still that you’re the Devil.”

“Because I am the Devil,” Lucifer replied before taking another drink. “Repeating the question won’t make the answer less accurate.”

Chloe released a tired laugh and pushed away from the bar. “I’m going home before I start believing you.”

Lucifer stood immediately and reached for his coat. “Excellent. I’ll drive you.” He looked toward Alexandra and said, "Sorry that I have to leave again. I can't let the detective go home alone in her condition."

"It's okay," Alexandra nodded.

“No, he isn't going anywhere,” Chloe said as she picked up her purse and pointed it at Lucifer. “You’ve had enough alcohol to put a normal person in the hospital.”

Lucifer looked offended by the comparison. “I’m hardly normal, and alcohol has no meaningful effect on me. I could drink the entire bar and still sing Luck Be a Lady.”

“Yeah, no thanks.”

Lucifer followed her through the crowd while people stepped aside to let them pass. “Detective, my driving is magnificent. Recklessly fast on occasion, perhaps, though always magnificent.”

Chloe stopped near the entrance and turned toward him. “I’m calling a cab.”

Lucifer placed one hand against his chest. “You’d rather trust your life to a stranger in a dirty sedan than ride inside a classic Corvette with me?”

“Yes,” Chloe replied without hesitation. “The stranger probably won’t spend the whole drive explaining how attractive he is.”

“I could remain silent.”

Chloe stared at him.

Lucifer held her gaze for several seconds before his expression shifted into reluctant honesty. “Fine, I could attempt silence.”

“That’s what I thought.”

Chloe pulled out her phone and requested a cab while Lucifer stood beside her with visible disappointment. A few minutes later, a dark sedan stopped near the curb outside Lux.

Lucifer walked her toward it despite her protests. He opened the rear door and looked inside as though inspecting the vehicle for hidden assassins, poor upholstery, or offensive air fresheners.

Chloe paused before getting inside. “Thanks for tonight.”

Lucifer’s smile softened. “For solving the murder, preventing you from being shot again, or providing several excellent drinks?”

“For helping,” Chloe said. “Don’t make me regret saying that.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it.”

Chloe lowered herself into the back seat, then looked up at him through the open door. “And we’re still talking about that speed thing.”

“I look forward to another evening of you refusing to accept the obvious.”

Lucifer closed the door gently and stepped back. Chloe watched him through the window as the cab pulled away from Lux. He stood beneath the glow of the club’s sign with his hands inside his pockets, looking far more thoughtful than his usual smile suggested.

Once the cab disappeared into traffic, Lucifer returned inside.

The party had barely noticed Chloe’s departure. Music continued pounding across the nightclub while dancers filled every open section of the floor. Maze had vanished somewhere with the blonde model from earlier, which meant Lucifer probably wouldn’t see either woman again until morning.

He walked back toward the bar and found Alexandra waiting there.

She sat on one of the stools with a fresh cocktail resting between her hands. Her friends were still gathered around the reserved table across the room, though none of them looked interested in interrupting her conversation with the owner of Lux.

Alexandra watched Lucifer approach before glancing toward the entrance. “She took the cab?”

“Unfortunately,” Lucifer replied as he settled beside her. “She chose a boring cab over my exceptional company and beautiful automobile.”

Alexandra smiled. “Maybe she didn’t trust you to drive after all those drinks.”

Lucifer signaled the bartender for another scotch. “Alcohol doesn’t affect me in any meaningful way, which is both useful and deeply disappointing.”

Alexandra studied his face, trying to decide whether he was joking again. “You say some very strange things with a completely serious expression.”

“I say true things,” Lucifer corrected. “People simply find the truth strange when it disagrees with their comfortable little version of reality.”

The bartender placed another glass before him. Lucifer thanked the man with a small nod before taking a sip.

Alexandra rested both forearms against the bar. “So, one of your superpowers is that you can bring out others' desires?"

Lucifer took another sip of scotch before giving her an easy smile. “Yes. People love telling me their deepest, darkest desires.”

Alexandra watched him for several seconds.

She had already seen his strange influence earlier when he convinced her to answer Chloe’s questions. At the time, it had felt natural. She had wanted to help, and Lucifer had merely pushed the desire closer to the surface.

Now she wondered what else he could pull from someone.

Alexandra leaned against the bar, placed her cheek on her hand, and smiled at him. “Do me?”

Lucifer’s eyebrows rose slightly.

Her bright blue eyes stayed fixed on his, carrying equal amounts of curiosity and challenge. She looked amused, though there was nervousness beneath the smile. She wanted to know whether the strange effect would work on her again, and some deeper part of her clearly wanted to know what it might reveal.

Lucifer placed his glass down and turned toward her fully.

“Very well,” he said as his eyes locked with hers. “Tell me, Alexandra... What is it you truly desire?”

The nightclub seemed to soften around Alexandra.

The music remained loud, people continued dancing, and colored lights still moved across the walls, though it all began to feel distant. Lucifer’s voice slipped beneath every prepared answer she might have offered and reached the thought she normally kept hidden behind interviews, polite smiles, and careful public appearances.

Her lips parted.

“I... I want people to stop deciding who I am before I speak.”

Lucifer’s playful expression faded slightly.

Alexandra continued before she could stop herself. “They look at my face, my eyes, or my body, and they think they already know everything. Directors assume what roles I should play. Interviewers ask the same stupid questions. Men think being interested in me means they deserve something from me.”

Her fingers tightened lightly around the stem of her glass.

“I’ve spent years doing what people expect because I’m afraid that one wrong choice could make everything disappear. I want to stop being careful all the time. I want to choose something because I want it, even if everyone else thinks it’s reckless.”

Lucifer studied her closely.

The confession had gone deeper than attraction, which seemed to surprise Alexandra as much as it interested him. Her smile had vanished, leaving her exposed beneath his gaze in a way that had nothing to do with clothing.

Lucifer leaned slightly closer. “And what reckless thing do you want right now?”

Alexandra’s breathing changed.

Her eyes dropped briefly toward his lips before returning to his face. The final layer of restraint slipped away as his gift drew the answer from somewhere she had already known it was waiting.

“I want to kiss you,” she whispered. “I want to know whether being close to you feels as dangerous as it looks.”

Lucifer’s mouth curved into a slow smile.

“Interesting.”

The effect loosened around Alexandra, and awareness returned all at once. Her eyes widened slightly as she realized everything she had admitted. A faint blush spread across her face, though she didn’t retreat or pretend the confession had been meaningless.

“Well,” she said while lifting her cocktail toward her lips, “that was more honest than I expected.”

Lucifer rested one hand against the bar beside hers. “Deepest desires rarely concern polite conversation or responsible career planning.”

“Then tell me,” she said, setting down her glass. “Is being close to you really as dangerous as it looks?” She was barely holding herself back from jumping into his arms and just kissing him and going with the flow. It was really hard for her to control.

Lucifer’s gaze dropped toward her lips.

For one brief moment, Karl’s old excitement threatened to overwhelm Lucifer’s practiced confidence. Alexandra Daddario was sitting inside his nightclub, openly admitting that she wanted to kiss him, while those impossible blue eyes watched him expectantly.

He kept the panic buried beneath a smooth smile.

“There’s only one reliable way to discover that,” he said.

Alexandra leaned closer until their lips almost touched.

For a second, neither of them moved.

Lucifer could hear her heartbeat beneath the music. It had become fast and uneven, while her eyes kept dropping toward his mouth. She looked as if she was waiting for him to make the final move.

'This is a dream come true. I can't believe I'm about to kiss Alexandra Daddario. She's so gorgeous.' Lucifer leaned forward and kissed her.

The kiss started slowly.

His lips touched hers gently while one hand settled against her waist. Alexandra remained still for the first few seconds, almost as if she wanted to make sure the moment was real before letting herself enjoy it.

Then she kissed him back.

Her fingers grabbed the front of his suit while she pulled him closer. Lucifer smiled faintly against her lips before deepening the kiss, and Alexandra’s careful control began falling apart almost immediately. She tasted so good. Her lips were so juicy... He could taste a unique flavor from her lips and tongue that had nothing to do with the mocktails she had. It was different from Maze and was really good.

They slowly stood from their stools without breaking apart.

Alexandra wrapped both arms around his neck while Lucifer placed his hands against her hips. The people closest to the bar began noticing them, though neither of them cared. Well, maybe some of the guys were jealous.

Alexandra’s kiss became faster and messier as everything she had been holding back rushed to the surface. She pressed herself against him, breathing heavily between kisses while her fingers moved into his hair.

Lucifer pulled back slightly and looked into her eyes.

“Still curious about the danger?” he asked with an amused smile.

Alexandra barely gave him time to finish.

She kissed him again and suddenly jumped into his arms.

Lucifer caught her without effort.

Her legs wrapped around his waist while his hands moved beneath her thighs, keeping her balanced against him. Alexandra laughed softly against his lips before kissing him again with even more hunger.

“Bloody hell,” Lucifer muttered between kisses. “You really don’t believe in taking things slowly.”

Alexandra smiled while holding his face between her hands. "I just want to be me tonight and do something really reckless. Don't you dare stop me."

"I wouldn't dream of... Mhmmm~" Before he could finish, she started kissing him.

He carried her away from the bar. Her friends watched from their table, laughing and cheering when they realized where the two of them were heading. Lucifer ignored them as he moved upstairs toward the elevator.

Alexandra buried her face against his neck and kissed the skin beneath his jaw. Lucifer tightened his hold around her thighs.

He used his left hand to press the elevator's button.

The doors opened.

Lucifer stepped and pressed the button for the penthouse. The doors closed behind them, cutting away the noise from Lux until only the quiet mechanical hum of the elevator remained.

Alexandra kissed him again.

Without the crowd around them, the kiss became even more heated. Her hands moved through his hair while Lucifer pressed her gently against the elevator wall. Her big boobs were pressed against his chest, which made him really hard.

His hands shifted beneath her dress and cupped her butt cheeks as he held her securely against him. Alexandra let out a quiet sound against his lips and tightened her legs around his waist. She could feel his bulge, pushing against her pussy. She began to suck on his tongue and lips at this point, creating a messy and sloppy kiss.

Lucifer’s old human thoughts began screaming somewhere inside his mind.

'This is actually happening. Alexandra Daddario is wrapped around me inside an elevator. And I'm gonna get lucky tonight. Stay calm. Do not ruin this by acting like an excited teenager.'

Alexandra pulled back just enough to breathe.

“Why are you smiling like that?” she asked.

Lucifer gave her his most confident look while his hands remained firmly beneath her.

“I’m simply enjoying the view. And it's gorgeous.”

She laughed and kissed him again before the elevator doors opened behind them.

Lucifer carried her into the penthouse without setting her down. Alexandra kept kissing along his neck while he walked toward the bedroom, though her movements had become slightly slower than before. Her eyes became heavy.

Lucifer barely noticed.

He reached the bed and carefully lowered her onto the soft mattress.

The moment Alexandra’s head touched the pillow, her eyes closed.

Lucifer leaned over her, expecting her to pull him back down for another kiss.

Instead, she started snoring.

Lucifer stopped moving.

He stared down at her in complete disbelief while the soft sound continued from the pillow. Alexandra had fallen asleep so quickly that it looked as if someone had pressed a button inside her head.

Lucifer blinked several times.

"Huh?!"

Alexandra shifted slightly beneath him, turned her face toward the pillow, and continued snoring with complete peace.

Lucifer slowly straightened.

He looked at the sleeping actress, then toward the ceiling, as if expecting his father to explain the cosmic joke. No answer came from Heaven, which had become painfully predictable.

Lucifer released a long sigh and placed both hands against his hips.

“Of course,” he muttered. “The beautiful woman of my dream throws herself into my arms, kisses me halfway across the club, and falls asleep the moment we reach the bed.”

Alexandra moved again and pulled one of the pillows against her chest.

Lucifer watched her for another moment before his expression softened.

She looked exhausted.

The murder, the police questions, the fear, the party, and whatever alcohol she had consumed earlier had clearly caught up with her all at once.

Lucifer carefully removed her shoes and placed them beside the bed. He pulled the blanket over her body.

Alexandra continued sleeping without noticing anything.

Lucifer shook his head and gave her one final amused look.

"Sweet dreams."

He walked toward the balcony.
