TOS (Patreon)

1. Agreement to Terms

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using Vulpes Tailoring Tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“TOS”). If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the tool.

For the purposes of this TOS, “Vulpes” refers to the creator and owner of the tool, and “User” refers to the purchaser, subscriber, or patron using the tool.

2. Purchase and Subscription

Monthly subscriptions grant the User access to a library of downloadable .zip files required to install and run Vulpes Tailoring Tools within Blender.

Once installed in Blender, the package creates an addon that allows for the conversion of clothing assets between predefined avatar bases. The tool also includes utilities that allow Users to configure their own compatible bases within the system.

While subscribed, Users may receive:

Tool updates

Model additions

Additional perks depending on subscription tier

Community features such as avatar voting and Discord roles

If a User cancels their subscription, any files already downloaded remain in their possession and may continue to be used. The tool does not contain any built-in expiration or end-of-life system and will continue to function as downloaded.

However, access to future updates, new models, and additional features requires an active subscription.

Users who purchase access through Patreon are also subject to Patreon’s Terms of Service and policies.

3. Community Voting

Certain subscription tiers include voting access for monthly polls. These polls help determine a subset of the avatars that Vulpes may prioritize developing in the following month.

Poll results are used as guidance for development priorities. However, Vulpes reserves the right to release avatars or updates based on additional factors including:

Personal development priorities

Creator requests

Market demand or sales

Technical limitations or scheduling constraints

While Vulpes will attempt to complete winning poll entries within the month, completion timelines are not guaranteed.

4. License and Access

Vulpes reserves the right to suspend or revoke access to the tool and related services in cases including but not limited to:

Violation of these Terms of Service

Harassment or abuse toward Vulpes or associated staff

Fraud, misuse, or bad-faith behavior

Unauthorized distribution of the tool

Users may not share, distribute, resell, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute any files associated with Vulpes Tailoring Tools. Violation of this rule may result in:

Termination of access to the tool

Revocation of all licenses granted under these terms

Potential legal enforcement under applicable copyright law

All software, code, documentation, models included with the tool, branding, and related materials are the intellectual property of Vulpes and may not be reproduced or distributed without explicit permission.

5. Tool Usage and Third-Party Assets

Vulpes Tailoring Tools is designed to operate on assets created by other artists and creators.

Users must follow all applicable Terms of Service, licensing agreements, and usage rules established by the original creators whose assets are being used.

Users may not:

Transform assets they do not own

Redistribute assets without proper licensing

Use assets commercially without the creator’s permission

Unless the User is the original creator of an asset, the tool may not be used to convert or modify that asset for resale or redistribution without the creator’s explicit authorization.

Users must legally acquire assets through the proper channels before using them with the tool.

If an asset creator has already produced an official version of an asset for a particular avatar base, Users should consult that creator’s Terms of Service before using the tool to create additional versions.

6. Ownership of User Work

Vulpes does not claim ownership of any work created by Users using the tool.

Users retain full ownership and responsibility for any assets, models, or derivative works they create.

Vulpes assumes no liability for the content, legality, or distribution of work produced by Users.

7. Commercial License

Commercial use includes, but is not limited to:

Selling refitting services using the tool

Selling of original assets created with the tool

Selling edited avatars in accordance with the originals TOS

Receiving monetary compensation from work produced using the tool

Users who subscribe to the Commercial License Tier (“Seamstress”) receive one month of commercial usage rights.

During the active license period, Users may:

Create commercial products using the tool

Sell assets produced with the tool

Provide paid services using the tool

After the subscription ends, the tool will continue to function as downloaded.

However:

New commercial products may not be created after the commercial license expires.

Assets that were created during the valid commercial license period may continue to be sold indefinitely after the license expires.

Creating or selling new commercial content without an active commercial license constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in revocation of access to future licenses or access to the tool itself.

8. Custom Avatar Setups

Users may create custom avatar base setups for use with Vulpes Tailoring Tools. These setups allow additional avatar bases or assets to function within the tool’s conversion system.

8.1 Ownership Requirements

Users may only create custom avatar setups for avatar bases or assets that they legally own or have permission to use.

Users may not create setups for assets that:

They do not own

They have not legally obtained

They do not have permission from the original creator to modify or distribute

Users are responsible for complying with all applicable licenses and Terms of Service established by the original asset creators.

8.2 Restrictions on Sale of Custom Bases

Custom avatar base setups created for use with Vulpes Tailoring Tools may not be sold, licensed, or commercially distributed.

Unauthorized sale or commercial distribution of custom setups may result in termination of tool access and revocation of all associated licenses.

8.3 Community Contributions

Users who create compatible setups for avatar bases are encouraged to submit the required files to Vulpes for potential inclusion in the official tool library.

Submissions may include files such as:

FBX, BLEND, OBJ, or other 3D files

Configuration or mapping data

Other files necessary for proper functionality within the tool

Before a submission is added to the tool, Vulpes will attempt to obtain permission from the original creator of the avatar base or asset.

If approval is granted and the setup is included in the tool, the contributor will be credited for their work. Credit will include the contributor’s chosen name displayed within the tool and on the associated Patreon page.

Submitting setups for inclusion is entirely optional and not required for personal use.

Community contributions help expand compatibility and improve the tool for all users.

8.4 Contributor License

By voluntarily submitting a custom setup to Vulpes for inclusion in the tool, the contributor grants Vulpes a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

Use

Distribute

Modify

Integrate

the submitted setup within Vulpes Tailoring Tools and associated downloads.

This license applies solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and distributing the tool.

The contributor retains ownership of their submitted work but agrees that Vulpes may distribute the setup as part of the tool without additional compensation.

8.5 Submission Review and Removal

Vulpes reserves the right to review, reject, modify, or remove any submitted custom setup for any reason, including but not limited to:

Technical issues or incompatibility

Incomplete, incorrect, or low quality setup data

Conflicts with creator permissions or TOS

Malicious, harmful, or unsafe content

Vulpes is not obligated to include submitted setups within the tool.

Additionally, previously included submissions may be removed if they later conflict with creator permissions, licensing terms, or tool functionality.

9. Disclaimer of Warranty

Vulpes Tailoring Tools is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.

Vulpes makes no guarantees regarding:

Compatibility with future software versions

Uninterrupted functionality

Absence of bugs or technical issues

Users assume all risks associated with using the tool.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vulpes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use the tool.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Loss of profits

Loss of data

Commercial damages

Business interruptions

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles.
