Here another addendum post with all the information, output, testresults and other files that belong to my Youtube video on the Bollinger Real Pullback strategy (for Binance).

Originally I had two other similar strategies from the same original author that, at first sight, proved to have HUGE gains after optimizing. But later I found out that there were some serious flaws with these files/code. Therefore I used this Binance version.

The original strategy can be found on https://github.com/jilv220/BB_RPB_TSL

So if you like this strategy, then pay a visit to that site and give him some kudo's.

In the mean time I will work on yet another idea so see you in another post!

Goodbye!

Liked your presentation of the algorithm, have you thought about using ChatGPT to help reverse engineer the code and explain it quicker? I find it very useful for this 😌

Haha, yes sometimes I did. But at some point I have to think about a balance between the time it will take to figure out code and explaining it in comparison to the hypothetical profits and caveats these deliver. Also explaining each and every detail in a video would probably take me several days and an hour long video to create. So I had to balance stuff out a little bit. But most of the time is making people aware of these and this clearly happened here :-)

Hi! Maybe you showed in some of your older videos. How do you run multple timeframe test? And I'd really like to play with the strategies you share starting from the results you show in the vids, but i've noticed that you don't add the config.json file. Is there a particular reason for that? Thanks and regards!

Dutch Algotrading

Hi agustin, I run multiple backtests with the --timeframe parameter set differently each time. The daterange stays the same for each run (but sometimes at a strategy I have to shorten it, otherwise the test crashes out). I do not quite understand your remark on the config.json. It is added to one of my earliers posts where I clearly explain how my setup is. So everything you need is in that first post. Hope this helps.

Hi! Thank you very much for your efforts, I'm learning a lot. I've noticed that the BB_RPB_TSL_RNG_2.py strategy is not included in the zip file. I would really like to have a look into it and also test on my enviroment. BR
