The Last Sunset (Patreon)

The ocean stretched endlessly before her, its waves whispering secrets to the shore. The golden sun bathed the world in warmth, casting its last embrace over her skin. The scent of salt and the faintest trace of blood mingled in the air as the tide inched closer, threatening to wash away the moment.
She had come here to escape. To be free, if only for a while. The white sands were meant to be her sanctuary, the waves her lullaby. But fate had other plans.
The arrow had found her with a cruel precision, piercing her chest just above her heart. A single, perfect shot. Was it a hunter? An assassin? A lover betrayed? She would never know.
Her breaths had slowed, her fingers twitching slightly in the sand as the pain dulled, replaced by a strange, weightless peace. She gazed at the horizon, her lips parted as if she could still taste the life she was leaving behind.
As the waves licked closer, as the sun dipped lower, she surrendered to the inevitable. The last sunset she would ever see was a masterpiece painted in hues of fire and farewell.
