As much as I FREAKING LOVE the warmup -- doing the afterparty is smart. It enflames your audience to be more enthusiastic about engaging with your community and comment sections, and being featured in a show is deeply motivating. I think what we love about the warm-up is hearing how y'all are doing -- how Pearlbabia is, does Ms. P have chicken pox in her throat, etc.

It wasn't the world that came together to do that: it was Europe and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) that forced the rest of the US to not make aerosols that destroy the planet. Some Canadian friends invited us up for Canada Day (July 1), so we decided to skip the Fourth of July this year. We just got back from six days near Toronto, and the whole trip felt like a deep breath I didn’t realize I needed. We drove through upstate New York, passing miles of American and Trump flags. But the moment we crossed into Canada, it was all Canadian flags. Something about that shift released tension I didn’t even know I was carrying. We spent three days at a lake, doing all the lake things… kayaking, boating, relaxing, eating s’mores, just enjoying the quiet. Then we headed into the city to celebrate. People were welcoming and warm… even after finding out we were American. It was one of those trips that leaves you feeling lighter. No stress, no pressure, just a reminder that there are places where people are kind and the energy feels calm.

A hydrofoil is a type of boat designed to hydroplane. Meaning, you go so fucking fast that the absolute minimum of the hull is actually touching the water. This can also be done by making these weird stilt looking structures under a boat (also for the express purpose of going really fuckin fast). It's like a physics exploit for boating. Won't keep the orcas from exacting swift, brutal vengeance though.

I understand the want for more engagement in the comments with a post show, but I don’t want it to get too parasocial with people trying their hardest in the comments to “show off” if that makes sense. I think doing a 30 minute warmup, main show, and maybe a 10 minute post show corrects or “favorite comment” might be okay. But at the end of the day, I’ll still listen to what ever you guys put out, even if that’s just the main show.

My sister uses a powdered mineral sunscreen for my very white, toddling nephew, and they love it. You just brush it on with a fluffy makeup brush, so there’s not as much like Nemean lion-esque wrestling as you would have when applying a traditional sunscreen on a toddler.
