No hate here but as a North Carolinian I did want to mention that corn is not as big of a agricultural export here in NC. The following is from google: "North Carolina's top agricultural products include poultry and eggs, tobacco, hogs, and soybeans. The state is a national leader in the production of sweet potatoes, dry beans, tobacco, pigs, broilers, and turkeys. Other important crops include corn, cotton, and peanuts." We do get a lot of ag subsidies though and it's mostly going to big corporate farms. We're also in the top 5 for farm land disappearing. Tobacco used to be our biggest export globally however that's dropped quite a bit as well. Anyways just wanted to share some farm facts. Oh almost forgot we're actually a fairly even split politically we're just gerrymandered all to fuck so the state legislature is extremely unbalanced and now so is the NCSC. Hopefully in '26 we'll get Roy Cooper on the Senate. I'm also currently considering running for either the state legislature or even Congress cause the only way to fix this shit is gonna be for working class folks like myself to get in office, start cleaning up the mess and write legislation for the people not corporations.

Liver King is a year younger than me and looks at least 10 years older. I have a neuromuscular disease, a metabolic disease, severe asthma, I'm in a wheelchair and I look 10 years younger than him. I feel I should be able to make a few million a year selling turmeric pills or something. I guess I'm just not crazy enough.

Wow! One of my favourite episodes and not only because I asked for it🤣! You had me both entertained and enraged. As someone who did a PhD in Food science this episode was cathartic for me because I constantly have to fight nonsense like this. My in America living and trump supporting aunt keeps sending me books about the healing power of water and they continue to go straight into the bin. On a last note. I find it funny that Mr. P said that as a biochemist the liver king should know better. In my experience academia is full of idiots who don’t know what they are doing and just do it for the optics of being a PhD or professor! Keep up the good work and as someone who used to develop gluten free breads: I feel for you Mrs. P.

So on the Snowboarding thing, Colorado has a weird relationship with Texans coming to do snow sports. Snowboarding wouldn’t be and a super expensive hobby if you live where it snows but if you’re having to book air travel and accommodation in another state that quickly becomes as expensive as joining a yacht club

But I’d bet the Sugar beets lobby historically monopolized by Utah Mormons played a major role. Lastly The U.S. imported nearly $2.6 billion of raw sugarcane last year, much of it originating in Brazil and Mexico. (And trump is insane about Tarriffs so may well believe that he can somehow make sugar cane imports magically solve the budget)

My school had Intermediate campuses for a bit (4/5/6) for a time then phased those out then for couple years had 9th grade campuses, but I think these were also phased out eventually, those campuses shifted back to middle schools or alternative focus campuses (special education, ESL, GED, maybe a Montosori, Applied Learning, STEAM, or Arts campus)

The fact that Mr. P translated connect was touching grass was funny to me. But that is probably because I had already heard of grounding/earthing mats from another podcast (Oh No! Ross and Carrie). Grounding/earthing mats are basically described as a mat that lets you "feel the outdoors indoors by simulating the electrical charge of the Earth" and can have "healing properties", using a lot of the same jargon that liver king used in the connect tenet video. So I wouldn't be surprised if the liver king was selling his own versions of those mats too.
