Yesss. I've been begging y'all for this one for like 3 years! But you were right to wait - it's so topical now. I can't tell you how weird it was growing up in the Portland area during this. It was on the news EVERY NIGHT. they did a Town Hall show at KATU in Portland and Sheela went on that and screamed for a solid hour. And at first, a lot of people were like, well, we shouldn't be bigoted about this...and then the MAGA Nightmare came true 😆 A few years back I started seeing people I know repost "inspirational" shit from Osho and had to be like, young people. Gather 'round and let Grandma tell you who this guy is 😆 Anyway, sharing the local wacky morning dj show (remember when we had real radio dj's?) song about Sheela because it still gets stuck in my head on the regular. Dude, my favorite episodes are the ones about cults. I’ve looked for maybe a podcast that’s dedicated to episodes about that, but none of them are what I’m looking for—I love the way Mrs P tells who the founder is and what lead up to them starting the cult; all of the cult-centric podcasts seem to only want to discuss what they did/what event(s) made them infamous. I’m with Mrs. P 98%. I have a shifty AF contractor neighbor whose a real “choose your own adventure” type of an individual. I only care that my water, electric, and gas aren’t affected (heard enough stories of neighborhood blocks blowing up from gas at/around one). After that I don’t care what anyone does.
