Candy Corn. Corn. That tastes like candy. Oooh this must be good...

Harley Watkins

Me before the episode: oh nice I love candy corn! I’m gonna go buy some. Me approximately 22 minutes in: fuck.

Olivia Aguilera

Before I even watch the video, candy corn. And I come from a very epic Reese’s house. I swear my mom and I can sniff them out. She used to hide frozen Reese’s in old frozen vegetable boxes in the back of the freezer, knowing I wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot pole. Reese’s (and all other food for that matter lol) changed, man. It’s gross now, and sucks because my mom and I had to find another way to compete lol.. back to the story, candy corn has always tastes the same! I know there will be some disappointment that comes along with eating candy corn. BUT no where near the betrayal of Hersheys changing our beloved candy!

"You get peacocks from rich people's gardens." Random ass neighborhoods in Florida would like to chime in.

The candy corn falling out of the crow's mouth during the turtle trafficking story is frying me. Crow couldn't believe it either!

tach.o

Can we name drop the hotel? 😅

Karen Turner-Domakeczna

My kid loves candy corn. They even dressed up as a candy corn for Halloween when they were 5! I love Reese’s but once menopause hit and I became anaphylactic allergic to nuts, I’ve had to survive on sunflower butter cups 😞

Emi

Mrs P thank you so much for all the info on moisturizing hand wash you sent me on insta! My hands get so chapped in the winter and I'm excited to try it all out <3

Kyle

I love all the diatribes, and there were so many today. Never stop, Mr. or Mrs. P. I love hearing about stupid turtle traffickers.

Ellie G.

My Mom had a cousin Todd who was apparently a really cool dude. He rode a motorcycle. Then he crashed it into a telephone pole because he was speeding and died. This was before I was born so I never met Todd. RIP Todd, you should’ve obeyed the speed limit and maybe you wouldn’t have lost control of the bike.

Ellie G.

The bright side is Todd’s mother, my Great Aunt Helen got a huge life insurance payout and some sort of financial settlement out of his death. Then, her youngest son got a hold of it somehow and gambled it all away because he’s an idiot.

When I was like 9 or 10, I was struggling to open a bag of candy corn in the backseat of my dad's car, and I yanked on it so hard it EXPLODED. Candy corn flew *everywhere*. My older sister (in the front seat) and I froze and watched our dad, who was gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles were white. We rode in silence until we got home and I had to pick up every single piece I could find, and we continued to find one every so often for the next few years until Dad sold the car 😂 Alex not being able to open that fucking bag was more than relatable to me!

Dean Denton

Mrs P, love you so much, but its fon-dent, not fon-dahnt

Wrongtown

Was that a Dr. Tran reference by Mr P? 🤔

Phyllo Dolls

This episode was pure Pearlmania brain candy. I live

Pelicans are my favorite dinosaur

I love Candy Corn but it's not vegan. Many candies aren't vegan because of confectioner's glaze. I used to love those Goetz's caramel creams.

Dean Denton

Adam Tod Brown is a cool Tod. Alex would really enjoy his podcasts. The podcast network is called "You Don't Even Like Podcasts" (looooooooong story)

Europoopin

I wasn't expecting butterscotch slander! I fucks with a butterscotch so hard! 😋

StarlightDancer

Tip for carving pumpkins. Make the hole at the bottom, not the top. By keeping the "roof" intact, it doesn't cave in as quickly. Also, Rural King is better than Tractor Supply and doesn't make any political donations. They will have the cheapest car batteries you will ever find (you just have to put it in yourself)

Frogs_not_frauds

😲 (feigned anger) How dare you correct Mrs P’s speech impediment! Her hoagie-mouth mispronunciations are well documented and endearing.

Rei the Lupanthrope

Hey Mr and Mrs P, if you eat candy corn with peanut the flavor combination tastes like peanut butter

OneGoodKnight

Milk chocolate burns my mouth now and I have no idea why, I used to love chocolate as a kid and now I can onky eat dark chocolate

President of the Fishbein Fan Club

If they have 85% of the market and make 7 billion candy corn a year, that means we make ~8.2 billion pieces yearly… I’m curious how many end up in the garbage.

All Glory to the Hypno Toad

I love you guys, I turn to you both for the most interesting topics about history. This episode was great! I want to point out a few things though... Your math isn't mathing. 14 reese's cups at $8 is .57 cents per cup and not $2 a cup. If it was $2 per cup the bag of 14 would have cost you $28. George Washington Carver while one of America's greatest inventors and scientist had scores of patents for all the different discoveries for peanuts, never invented peanut butter. It is a common misconception. https://nationalpeanutboard.org/articles/who-invented-peanut-butter/ Oh and here is a cool Tod. It is the fox from the Disney movie Fox and Hound. https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Tod

yondertallguy

Fucking Milo Rossi?! Do all of my favorite east coast creators know each other?!

Jordan

I’ll never look at my Uncle Todd the same.

Corn cob-al?

AugieLovesPenny

I heard a rumor that Reese’s is going back to their old recipe in 2027

ON THE PEACOCKS OF IT ALL. Everett, WA has roaming peacocks in a old rich neighborhood (Only Rich due to it being the first houses in the area when the city was founded) due to a couple of empty nesters got them as pets. When animal control was called on them, before they could even have a conversation with the owners they panicked and released the breeding pair of peacocks into the neighborhood. While yelling, "NO YOU CANNOT TAKE THEM". Soooo... now we have roaming peacocks in this odd old neighborhood in Everett.

This show unlocked an ear worm in my way to work this morning. On the show, “Who was…” did an episode on George Washington Carver and gave the world the jingle for “Peanut Soup.” For weeks that song lived in my head when my son was watching that show when he was five.

Born in Marlton, raised in Norristown, but enjoying Chesapeake life now 🦀 🌾 Also diamondback terrapins are the MD state reptile and absolutely REVERED as the state reptile down here. Every kid in the schools gets to hatch, raise, and release them. You can buy or adopt many reptiles from reputable breeders and they do ship in the mail, but not in a dang sock. Shame on that turtle trafficing fuck he better not show his face in this state Love the pod

2026-10-22 06:00 I actually did research on Ferrero/Ferrara and they do have ties to Israel ☹️ I’m a content creator and here’s more info from my article: Ferrara Candy Company & Ferrero Group: Ferrero Group invested in Israeli company Incredo LTD in 2023. If you want to avoid them, you can find a list of their brands here. * The Details: Ferrara Candy Company is an American subsidiary of the Ferrero Group, an Italian company. It’s privately held and majority-owned by the founder Pietro Ferrero’s grandson, Giovanni Ferrero. The Ferrero Group has spent $2.13 million on lobbying since 2023 on issues related to food safety, trade, the environment, labor, anti-trust, & agriculture. They support diversity, equity & inclusion through specific manager roles, ambassadors that lead local DEI efforts, and councils. Hell yeah! Already had my candy corms on and ready to listen while I run errands

GinaBoBina

The local news here in Chicago this morning also did a story about the bug confectioner ingredient in the Candy corn! Don't care. Nothing will stop me from eating it! I freaking love it! 😋

Mun

That whole maxim about taking off one thing before you walk out the door was said by Coco Chanel, famous Nazi sympathizer. I've been plotting a cross-stitch sampler that I'm going to put next to my mirror that says Fuck Coco Chanel. Signed, a Marylander 😄

ScrambledPhoenixEggs

Thank you! I remembered they were on mt shit list, but in true ADHD fashion I couldn't remember why. Zachary in the big round clear tubs are superior candy corns to Brach's anyway. Unfortunately I can only seem to find them in stores I no longer shop. 😭

Cut Off the Spigot

lolol I feel you, I also have ADHD sometimes it feels like there’s no way to win, but that’s why I focused my article on union-made candy brands b/c most of the candy companies suck. supporting unions is still something!

ThenIWhispered

Also, my absolute favorite kind of candy corn is the ones you can't eat. I leave up a small tree in my living room all year and decorate it seasonally. For spooky season this year, I added candy corn ornaments!

Mun

a lesbian with a sword

hold on hold on hold on i fucks HEAVY with the hard candy butterscotches and yellow gatorade

Espresso_Martooni

I have been forever chasing a bag of candy corn that I got when I was in high school. It was "Harvest Candy Corn" and in the regular corn, chocolate corn, and pumpkin shapes were also yellow bundles of wheat and cresent moon shapes. But the wheat and moons tasted different It took me eating most of the bag to finally figure out it was because those two new shapes were not normal candy corn flavor. They were BANANA FLAVORED. So weird. I also, never saw that bag or brand again. I would think it was a fever dream except I gave one to my best friend (who hates bananas) and she brings it up every time she sees my candy corn tattoo.

Alex and Rachel Trautman

My wife and I agree that, Reese Cups peanut butter definetly changed, but also, we're sure that the trees and pumpkins have a different peanut butter than the regular cups.

Post_Potato_Gluten_Free_Bathtub_Bolognese

This dropped at about the funnest time possible. Listening to this as I’m trapped in the house because Reece’s are filming a commercial right outside my house

Queen Sheila

Boom, shacka, shellac! Mr. P got boomed by Mrs. P! 😂 I think Alex forgot what podcast he was on for a minute there when he thought that you were still talking about the Pompeii victims being empty molds, it's not Vibin' with the Food Idiot! 🤣 I can take or leave candy corn, but I hate fondant; it's a texture thing, it's like gummy frosting. 🤢🤮 And yes, I'm autistic.

rissa_rainbows

Can I just say as a stay-at-home mom to a toddler in the year of our Lord 2026, I could see the appeal of being blitzed out on opioids to "stay married." 😅😂😭

Squirrelmania500.nut

Wait so you guys have a room full of sex toys, weed, AND CANDY. 4chan, dox this guy’s home address

Short_Range_Attack_Chicken

I genuinely cackled when Alex said “looking at you J.K. Rowling you bitch!” Seriously I kind of scared myself with the cackle that came out. 😳🧙

Rilesthelion

New tab. Parliament’s Chocolate City song/album is about Washington DC which has a majority Black population since the 1960s due to redlining. The song also asks God to enable chocolate to come out to vanilla suburbs as well… fifty years later minority communities combined have made a majority in both MD and VA suburbs.
