Honestly, I expected much worse pronunciation of Samhain. Thanks for the airhorn! Rough day at work, loving this episode.

Pelicans are my favorite dinosaur

Paused now when Mrs P suggested doing an episode on Catholic Saints collaboration with Greedy Peasant. I am HERE for it!❤️🎓

UhM aCtUaLlY it is 500-500 not 555-5000 bc nowadays when brands do text promos they give you a 6 digit number (for Amazon it’s 500-500) to text

Ollie’s sells bags of mallow cups.

I agree with Mrs P about the retribution for someone that stole my good pot. I would absolutely lose my mind

I always chuckle when you all talk about people listening at work on Monday…. Because I’m usually listening between 2-6am “sunday” night because I can’t sleep 😂.

This will be my plane listening while I fly home to Halifax from Toronto in about an hour, and I'm very much looking forward to the distraction from my every increasing flying anxiety.

Showing my fiancé this entire intro 😂 "You're gonna go to TJMAXX and you're always gonna find a deal– just BUY IT" 👀

Hear me out, Mrs. P... You can take the preggo Sonic pic and just put an emoji or something over your face. 🥲 Would this count? 🙏

I too was really fucking depressed by pandemic Halloween and have been RAILING against stupid trunk or treat ever since its inception. Fk that noise!!!! KIDS NEED TO ROAM THE STREETS AND GET CANDY FROM NEIGHBORS!!!!!!! AMERICA!!! ❤️🪦💀🎃

VillageSeaWitch

I’m just so stoked that I got to clean the 25 years worth of dust off my elementary school recorder and had an excuse to put my knowledge of this classic instrument to use.

Casper

The absolute rage I felt thinking if someone took my good pot. I felt Mrs. P on that level.

I would like everyone to know that 2020 Halloween was on a Saturday and there was full moon. But because the whole panini was mishandled no one had the most spooky ooky type of Halloween you can have as an adult or a child 🥲

Being an adult is realizing you have a favorite pot to cook in and a favorite burner on your stove that you cook with.

My husband got me a bidet for my birthday one year, seriously life changing. Also very romantic.

Trying to find neighbourhoods to take my kids to instead of the trunk or treating crap is absolute hell 😩

My three favorite holidays that my family celebrates are: 1. Halloween 2. Baking Day of Doom 3. Good Fajita Friday

So I’m late to this ep, but as someone who loves this book series, and also commented that I’m excited for your brain to break, I wanted to just say Idk your tolerance for fantasy and angst/romance tropes, and that’s why I think your brain may break. However, as someone who does like those things, this was a nice surprise when I first read it, and the other books were even better. So I’m excited to see where you fall in the spectrum lol 😅

I am that terrible person who puts candy out and hangs out in the back… people coming towards my house /knocking on the door stresses my dogs out, which in turn scares the children. And they’re shepherd/husky mixes and can look kinda scary and not in a good way. 😬😬😬

I guess we will all find out how I react to it together. - Mr. P

I listened to ACOTAR in solidarity over the past week and I cannot wait to hear what Alex has to say about it. It’s way outside my wheelhouse (more of a nonfic girl) so this was definitely… an experience.

Little shits ruined it this year. They stole my candy bowls. The actual giant melamine bowls the candy was in. A pox on their houses!

Isthisthingon

I was just coming to say this exact comment. Love Newfoundland!

Trunk or Treat has had such a detrimental effect on senior citizens. They look forward to seeing young people and it has been taken away from them.

I know this is an old episode. But I still live with my parents (gotta save that money, rent is crazy), and we live in a really nice neighborhood now. Kids from other neighborhoods come to our neighborhood. I love it. No one is doing anything bad. I don’t mind giving them all the candy. During Covid, we still sat outside, but we put a fold up table further away from us, and we told them to ‘take a pile’. I think certain families drive to our house specifically.

Why wouldn't you have bought a one cup scoop and do two scoops? Then Mrs. P wouldn't have to do any division. The tushy IS life changing. THEY DO MUMMERING IN PHILLY? They do it in Newfoundland too, where my mom is from. Except they all just wear sheets on their heads and go door to door to ask for booze lol. Also from Irish immigrants.

Also if you want to know how Halloween used to be, there’s a very good scene in Meet Me In St Louis where the kids go wild on Mischief Night. And my fave dulachan is Wiz Khalifa in ‘Dickinson’. Not a very accurate show about Emily Dickinson but it was very entertaining.

Yup! 99% of the “folks that come from other neighborhoods” come from places that aren’t walkable, or are unsafe. It’s safe here and we love actually having trick or treaters! Win win!
