I am ready to accuse everyone!

Ryan

Love to hear that WBN intro!

Chris Gladis

Higashi-Honganji! First temple I went to when I moved to Kyoto - that hair rope is remarkable.

Genna

Ahooh-J'ACCUSE!!!!!

John Folmer

The Yinzer in me was so happy about the steel conversation it was great

The Wizard Sparrow

Going to listen on my drive home…love the title 😂❤️

Ryan Schlichting

Erika stumbling over that temple's name is quietly such fantastic role playing. I'm sure they can pronounce it just fine, but the character not knowing makes total sense.

Jordan Lerner

I can't tell you how excited I am about this campaign. 2 years ago I wrote a 5e one shot that used a Clue board as the map. It also took place in a Gatsbyesque setting (how can you not with the Clue characters?) and went so well I decided to spin it off into an entire campaign that I'm now running with my partner and two of our friends. All this to say I'm very eager to see how you amazing storytellers do this setting.

Laura White

At first glance, i thought this said let the baddie hit the floor aldkfkskd

Pyrohydriscence

I'm so delighted! Also, I'm hoping they just fake him getting on the boat and move on with their lives.

ScoutHooligan

I need some kind of merch of Brennan saying "alloy!💅"

Sea Moose

Ok calling my shot rn. It was Fredward.

Jace Morgul

I’ve been watching a lot of news and it’s really been affecting my mental health. Thank you for giving me some relief!

Jill K.

If one of the PCs is the killer, do they know it? Or is this like real Clue where you don’t know until someone looks at the hidden cards, so everyone has to roleplay as if it COULD be them?

The jowler

So it’s obvious that Mrs Peacock was the one who did it right?

TPK_light

I don't know who killed Boddie, but whoever it is deserves a high five 😂

Myka Ozlynn

That last room could have also been called "The Boddie Count" bahaha

Amaya

That's certainly the vibe I'm getting since they all seem to be roleplaying suspicious intentionally

Amaya

I feel like it'd be objectively hilarious if it was similar to a Murder on the Orient Express type of situation where all the PCs had some hand in the murder except none of their contributions were what actually shuffled Boddie off his mortal coil

Amaya

I already know this campaign is gonna be one of my comfort replays

Erin R

Part of me does feel for Boddie, but you play with enough fire you get got in the end 🤣 But I have a feeling that there is something underneath that bumbling rich attitude, but that could just be me wanting more depth from a rich guy lol

xatlern

I love that this was 100% roleplay with no dice so far. I will be zero percent surprised if the next episode starts with Erika bringing out a gameboard and the game mechanic is you have to play Clue about it. Also this title + the joke from the session 0 had me looking up if anyone had made a mashup of Bodies by Drowning Pool and Body by Megan Thee Stallion and I can't believe I can't find one!

Shannon Brooks

Okay artists, we need character art STAT 👏👏👏👏 the environment and the world building in this was chef’s kiss!! 💋 I have always been a sucker for the Clue franchise but this is completely next level!!!

Raquel Blacken

I love this. I have so many thoughts, suspicions, theories if you will! So much fun. Spoilers!!! . . . . My predictions 1. Body signed Green the controlling stake of his Corp to make him the fall guy. Body is making bad business deals and can blame him. I think this bc Body is not a generous man. So there is something going on. 2. Maybe Body has already met with contractors in Europe and now there is a target on him and that's what got him killed. 🤔

Dov O'Cassidy

“a friend of marlene’s” is such a great code word for sapphic

Julia Whitmore

Anyone else think Boddie is secretly gay/bi which contributes to his "illicit" lifestyle? Maybe has a little homoerotic tension with his good buddy Cassidy? No? Just me?

Fxd Gear Queer

The character creation session also seemed to lean that way

Fxd Gear Queer

"Play it by ear" - I see you Brennan 😉 Also: Aabria playing a hypercompetent snarker? Wow, that's so out of pocket /affectionate

Melissa Shilale

Same, in the way Mice & Murder on D20 is for me too!

Alex H.

doesn't the premise of clue required that the players not know the location/weapon? Curious what Erika is planning

Alex H.

"They're so polite" definitely felt like a pull from personal experience too!

Sam Bergen

AUGH I CANT WAIT TO LISTEN TO THIS 🤩🤩🤩

Ellie

Are we getting talkback episodes for Hint?

Mei

perhaps a bit of a spoiler?? . . . . . . . . . . MURDER (with) MOST FOWL!! (as in all the glass-eyed birds!)

Scarfington

Very possible murder happened earlier and was moved, gunshots throw off, etc

Zack

No clue if this is what has happened, but an idea I had while listening was asking each player, if they were to be the killer, how and why. That means that as the sessions go on, every player is trying to figure out of it was them or not. Not sure how it would work in reality haha.

Dezzi

They really did capture the spirit of a party that no one is enjoying, and that has been over for a long time. (Minor Spoilers below) Also I change my answer: Peacock did it. Scarlet is just a red herring (haha), and I while I LOVE the idea of Mustard killing one final man in order to prevent more weapons of war being distributed...I think Mustard is too yellow-bellied (haha) for it now. I still think it could be Cassidy or Claw. If I was invited to someone's fancy party and they told me to serve the food I'd be angry enough to kill someone, too.

Samantha Cross

Respect to Erika for giving us backstory on some of the weapons!

The Wizard Subjudice

Full disclosure on being a white-ass Australian with (blessedly no) exposure to firearms whatsoever, but the fact it's the white well-to-do man running straight towards gunfire while the POC are in full "absolutely fkn not!" mode is deeply amusing in the most cynical way possible & incredibly satisfying story telling. Reminds me of Rudy Francisco's incredible spoken word "Adrenaline Rush."

midnight__sun

It feels so weird to hear anyone other than brennan's name before "everyone and everything else"

The Wizard Subjudice

Unhinged Theory-time with me, ya boi: - queer relationship/ love interest etc between Boddie & Greene (Groddie? Bean?) That Boddie was "going to the press about." - off-camera hook up in powder room between Clau and Scarlett - Alan Shore & Denny Crane's ancestors saw Greene & Plum and were like "this is our future, but in Boston" - Peacock fully poisoned this mf with tomatoes 🤣 or drugged him. But somehow everyone is involved. - this mf unal*ved himself

Ryan Higgins

The peanut butter cup callback...I see you

Joel Coxhead

Managed to really thread the needle on if the Reichswehr would be looking for new weapons technology from Mr. Boddie.

Melanie

Yes indeed!

Shannon Small

Obsessed with this episode all day - I love a classic murder mystery setup and yall delivered in spades with the threading in of motives and the asides to establish relationships with one another and the npcs. I absolutely LOVE the depiction of a party where nobody is comfortable (besides maybe Mrs peacock) but they have to be there because of how Boddie has collected all of them and I’m very excited to see the continuation as the pcs try to solve the mystery of whodunnit while also trying to make sure they’re not potentially outed as the culprit

The Wizard Subjudice

The *wince* I had at some of the colloquialisms that are just in fact racist was real. As a teenager not knowing better, I used to use the "J" one a lot to refer to our (🇦🇺) neighbours in the north, and hadn't heard it in some years, thankfully. I'm glad I had the opportunity to learn & correct that. But just...uurgghh. Jarring and gross... perfect for the time period, I'm sure. It's also wild to hear an American take on WW1 in any capacity. It's rarely discussed in the extensive coverage kids here (and across the Commonwealth, perhaps?) in Primary School History of it. Except for the Chicken Run line of it all ("pushy Americans. Always turning up late for every war. Overpaid, oversexed, and over here!")

Elizabeth Harris

Woah - like always this band of merry storytellers are so freakin’ good at what they do! The chemistry, the tension, the relationships!!! I’m hooked!

Jonesey

applause applause that was delicious! very looking forward to further shenanigans and historical references (I really hope that someone was looking up horse names from various races of the time. They sounded real to me.) Also - pen pals as the new gal pals is very good.

The Wizard Subjudice

FURTHER UNHINGED THEORY; MMF THREESOME BE HAPPENING BETWEEN SUSIE / RUTHERFORD / CASSIDY (ScardieCas, you're welcome) AND THAT'S WHAT SHE MIGHT GO TO THE PRESS ABOUT

Devon

That was so fun and silly! I really enjoy any and all characters the four of you get into. Can’t wait for the next one!

mumbo

What an enticing mystery thus far! I enjoyed how murderible Erica has made Body out to be, everyone has some potential motive. Excited to hear about the hints from the crime scene so the real theorizing can begin.

Avaria

Would love to see the balcony eavesdropping moment. Plumb looking uncomfortable; Cassidy Greene looking scandalized with his lit match hovering just short of his cigar; Claudette waving for silence to better hear the hot goss; Boddie & Scarlett sihloetted against a nearby window(?)

Avaria

Mice & Murder is so underrated! Train/Boat sequel when, please?

Mary W

i fully just busted up laughing at work when Aabria reacted to Boddie talking the rope because HARD SAME AABRIA!! 😂😂

GoldRyno

Love this! How does one submit questions for future firesides???

JudyIscariot

The interaction with Cassidy with the hair rope was incredible, easily my favorite in the episode. Just the pivot from pointing out the hypocrisy to "That's a great piece of hair, congratulations" was fantastic

DaphneDawn

We’re pen pals, darling

Brad Barnes

Fun Fact: Mrs. Peacock could easily have been in Paris before the Eiffel Tower was constructed. It would have been built roughly 40 years previously.

Elizabeth Marion

Are the secret passages in play from the original game board? Because if so the kitchen crew is looking Sus. There’s a direct passage from the kitchen to the study… (Also the lounge to the conservatory)

Catherine S Wall

i am pretty sure I was the one who did it because Boddie had it coming

Tina Cassell

Thr only reason I didnt do it is because you got there first.

I'm currently suspecting revolver and study... I'm just now realizing how weird it is that murder weapon and location are considered mysteries on a par with whodunnit in the game. I can see not knowing if a wrench or candlestick was the murder weapon, but how could you not know if the victim was shot or hanged? Unless the corpse is somehow strangled, stabbed, shot and suffered blunt force trauma, in which case I'm not sure which one killed them is the most pressing question. Excited to see how this plays out.

BethKF

Free, fun nominative determinism example: my orthopaedic surgeon for 15 surgeries was called, Mr Boddie. (Absolutely true!)

Claudia

Another fun fact: tomatoes were brought to Europe in the late 1500s which means that Mrs. Peacock is somewhere around 350+ years old 😂

Michelle Thye

When we were 80’s kids my little sister would spend every weekend she could in our basement, watching the rented VHS of Clue- everything revolved around Clue (with some peanuts, “princess bride” and “that darn cat” for some reason lol) she passed a few years ago but I feel like I’m getting to listen to this with Liz, who would have been a big fan.

sad rad

Cassidy telling Plum that the peanut butter in the penny cups tastes a little artificial - I see Brennan is never letting Lou become Mr Peanut

Melanie

Check out the character art on our social media pages! And even MORE coming soon hehehe

Shannon Brooks

👀👀👀 I am zooming over right now!!

Tijay Arnie

"This is the age for celebration" the year before the great depression

Splashie Ashie

"well we are remarking on it" 😂👏

Lagongo

This was a delight.

Stag Hart (Deer Deer)

At an Anime Convention years , one of the panels was a big parody game of "Clue", with numerous cosplayers acting as the characters and we the audience having to be the detectives. It ended with the reveal that about half the cast used some weapon or another on the victim, independently, including a chainsaw to dismember him (we were told his body was mangled, not that it was in pieces). I remember asking every cast member "did you hear a gunshot or chainsaw at some point in the night" and none of them said yes, so it felt incredibly silly when the truth had to be explained to the audience, as none of us understood what we going on with the 3 red herrings, 4 would be murders, the 2 original murders and the 5 used weapons.

Dezzi

Hey! Second listen through here, maybe I wasn't paying super close attention on my first go and that's on me DID BODDI USE A SLUR WHILE TALKING ABOUT THAT ROPE OF HAIR?!?? I swear to God it was already fucking creepy how he spoke about his time in Japan and his covetous desire to have and touch the hair but Jesus. It would have been Me, in that room, with my bare hands lemme tell ya what the fuck. Erika you deserve every flower for getting me to hate him so instantly, good job and I'm so excited for episode 2

RahneFace

Anyone else have the music from the Clue movie playing in their heads when the PCs started running towards the study? 😅

TracieP

Absolutely wonderful. I was riveted the whole time!

Devora

Oh I LOVED this! The Miss Scarlet lore reveal, the surprising compassion I felt for Mr. Greene, the Claw/Miss Peacock banter were just a few of my favorite things. I want to give Plum a hug and eat some of his candy.

Devora

The way it gave the sense that this was clearly a conversational pattern that had probably played out dozens of times before 👌🤌

Devora

They usually post a poll asking for it when they are open to questions!

Peter Crowell

Did anyone else play The Great Museum caper version of Clue? Had a few years in college where that was our go to game but haven't seen it since

Devora

Yes!!!!! I’ve been meaning to try and find a copy - my neighbors had it and I was obsessed with going over just to play it. Great game

Linton Freund

Anybody know who Claw is inspired by in the game? I've been trying to figure out if this is a brand new character or from the Clue cannon. Fun fact - Clue was called Cluedo in the UK before it came to the US and was called Clue. Found that in my character search 😂

rosa bronks

Mrs White! She's Claw white.
