I think crackle crackle could still work if you think of it as the crackling of a newspaper

Brandon Brewer

Erica managed to sneak up on Lou in the intro because, in addition to all the descriptors he listed, they are also the GHOST OF YOTEI! Been playing the game all weekend and I love it so much.

Ryan

Yay! Thank you to all who help make these shows possible!

EligorRigby

Just started, bold of Brennan to not be here to answer for the heinous pun that is "Mintgomery"

Lance Hayes

It's not related to the episode but I just have to say Erika absolutely killed it in Ghost of Yotei.

Sara Elizabeth Boozer

At this point, I’m just waiting to hear how the heck Peacock is deceiving everyone to do something shady…

E. Jason Davis

Hint Hint, Cackle Cackle is right there guys...

KWoww

A+ for the sheer trauma

Christian Asher

Going to need a wine talk horner corner style side episode with Lou at some point!

ChosenOfAeterna

I just know there are junior improv groups SWEATING knowing out of nowhere they could get randomly audited by Lou Wilson 💀

tre blessing

normalize <3 it IS INTERESTING when the homies give a deep knowledgeable rant! and we love it!

"...petrichor"

TPK_light

This was delightful. I live for the tangents!

Gareth Patten

lou and aabria nailing both of my gripes in movies and television was not in my bag cause wow the athletics part is just so perfect

brokenallbroken

High-five to Erika from another person who gets screaming fits from watching fake violinists.

TimeBarista

I yield my time to Wine Time with Lou Wilson

James O'Dwyer

Hello, I'm Mintgomery Merhermblur Kelmp. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Mack Whaley

I do have a passing thought that Izzy had a baby when Brennan isn’t here - and although I believe he is capable of juggling a toddler, a new born, WBN, D20, and CR - that cannot be possible bahahaha

Thomas

My last name is Green and my parents were going to name me “Olive”

Antonia Canosa

“Come for the story stay for the tannins”

xatlern

I can't wait for Lou to eventually play a wine snob character and put all of that knowledge to use. At this point I've been studying psychology for 20 years, and within that realm the thing that gets me the most heated is always the ethics violations 😬 babe you can't do that you'd lose your license 🙃

Marshall Koziol

I’m glad aabria also was confused by white and greens chemistry. Now I don’t feel as crazy for thinking it was a bit charged until he announced the wife and kids.

mguin

I am always here for a knowledgeable tangent, don't go pruning now

Hayley Aronson

New life goal: pay a master artist to paint my enemies getting poked in the ass by demons 🥰. Thanks all 🌈✨

Tournesol

I strongly believe that a fair amount of wine tasting and sommeliering is just convincing storytelling with pretentious rails. My wife became WSET Level 1 certified and believes similarly. Still makes for a fun convo when trying new wines!

Leniathan

Um, excuse me, I think you meant “come for the canon, stay for the tannins” 😂

Adam D.

Hearing Lou talk wine I really want him to go through a Scottish whisky distillery and do tastings to hear his take.

Miyaa

When I see the slice bamboo minigame with the two foxes cheering for every successful slice and the fox petting with Erika voicing the main character… they had to have known about World Beyond Numbers, right?

Nathan Armstrong

I adore this show, these people, and all the work they do, but if Lou dares to follow through on his promise to improve himself by doing fewer tangents, I’m out, y’all.

FoxMoth Oak

My running theory from end of ep 1 is that Mustard bludgeoned him and after he dragged himself to his study Peacock shot him 🥰 now that I'm typing this out, I also think that Mustard might not even remember bc of his PTSD episode from the gunshot

Michael MacLafferty

"Some people, to this day, hear tell that she is in there, trying to solve that goddam series of Aabria-viations..."

Megan Hockenbury

As someone who works in a sign shop, I cannot explain how desperately my fingers itch to make that sign for Lou lol

Sydney Nylia

The most perfect cutoff *chef's kiss*

Sky Rowan

AABRIA! Yes. 🙌🏻 I’ve also been an athlete my whole life with many many sports. Today, I am a career equine professional. Rider and now coach. I can clock IMMEDIATELY who played a sport in school/the past/as a child and who did not. I can even tell who played a team sport and who played a solo sport. So I definitely understand that!

Mel

ERIKA, YES, "PHONING-IT-N VIOLIN PERFORMANCE" HATERS CLUB LET'S GO

Salty Paints

I pay $5 a month for the tannins.

Lo

I’m definitely here for the tangents. Keep ‘em coming!!!!

Majestic Potoo

I get riled up at any glaringly wrong anything in a show. When it's something I know a little bit about: certain bits of history, costuming, media production, nature stuff, medical stuff. Because if I know basic facts, writers should know basic facts. When it's food and cooking, I throw things.

Majestic Potoo

Related: EVERY time Aabria talks about a particular food being weird or something, it's almost always a food I make very well, and I cannot reach through the phone with snacks and it kills me

Hex Sharpe

Every artist I know (including myself) is having a hard time finding work lately. So if you're a person with some amount of disposable income, you could EASILY find someone who would make you whatever petty art you need. You've got enemies, I've got finely-honed skills that are undervalued by society, let's talk

Hex Sharpe

Also my thing in media is harp. I haven't played in like twenty years, but GODDAMMIT IF YOU SHOW SOMEONE PUTTING THAT THING ON THEIR LEFT SHOULDER I'M FUCKIN OUTTA HERE. And a lot of times in drawings and stuff they draw people playing the dang thing from entirely the wrong side! Just look up a single photograph of literally anyone playing an actual harp for real before you draw one!

Fxd Gear Queer

Don't forget Knickolas Pnackleless 🤣

Martian

My first thought when I heard "black Willy Wonka" was Will.i.am Wonka 🤣

Jess A

My glaringly wrong thing is when they mix up the most basic, elemental aspect of a piano. Not the specifics of how the wrists pivot, or thumb use, no no. The most simple thing. The low bit is on the left. The high bit is on the right. When there's a character playing a piano and the sound goes up, and their hands move to the left, I lose my shit. It's the ONE thing anyone who has ever touched a piano knows.

Hannah Radenkova Illustration

The over-tightening of corsets in movies and tv. ESPECIALLY if they’re not wearing a chemise underneath. No one was wearing that shit against bare skin, and tightlacing was only done by Uber fashion-conscious rich people, and after the invention and wider use of metal eyelets in the 1830s. It’s like saying everyone wears Spanx everyday now no matter the occasion.

Abigail Agnew

They’re still getting tornadoes wrong in everything. And I hate it when people are clearly drinking from/holding empty coffee cups

Abacus

Accessibility Comment/Request: Can the WBN either turn off captions on both the public episodes and the fireside chats on Spotify or at least disable the AI auto-generated captions? They are consistently VERY wrong and there is no way to disable it on the listener’s end; only the “Artist” can disable these captions

DungeonMama

Can someone tell me what a genre pop is? Google keeps trying to tell me the definition of pop music lol

Madeline Salter

Lou is much quieter than Erika and Aabria in this one

Catherine Orochena

I'm confused, isn't miss Scarlet's name Suzie? They keep saying Ruby and I feel like I'm missing something

Sophie Crafton

I swear to god if one more show depicts Vikings as dirty overly violent Neanderthals I’ll lose it

Zach Churchman

Her stage name is Suzie Scarlet, her real legal name is Ruby Shu

Zach Churchman

Essentially like the classic parts of a genre. Like in murder mysteries it’s the red herrings and accusations and lines like “where were you on the night of the 15th?” Or “fine, I’ll tell you everything” ya know?

DungeonMama

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!

Josh Neff

OMG the empty coffee cup thing really gets under my skin.

EightACactus

On an early episode of the show Once Upon a Time the evil queen character offers "Snow White" an apple and claims it is a Honeycrisp. It very clearly is a Red Delicious which looks NOTHING LIKE A HONEYCRISP!

Elizabeth E

Brennan spontaneously inventing a wife and kids was a hate crime against the girlies who came here for PC romance

Jessica

MINTGOMERY

His revenge for them retconning Evan's 'long back'

Someone get Game Changer on the line! I'm sure they can do something with this idea.

dashiell james stribling

As someone who legitimately is studying Forensic Biology (the boys in the lab) at college and who knows a good few forensic examiner majors (actual on scene CSIs), loving the demo recognition

Emily McCarthy @emmypadge

If anyone has seen the Lisa Frank documentary, you will know that Lisa Frank actually, genuinely named her children Hunter and Forrest Green

Nessa_Vives

I thought Ms. Scarlet was a reference to Anna May Wong! So happy to get confirmation :3

Johnathan Arriola

Some wi(podcast)ne to taste. But not to talk about it.

Aabria Iyengar

YOU GET IT. (completely stupid-but-true side note: I've decided my new hobby this week is convincing Ryan that we should get a Percheron despite never owning a horse and not riding in like 5 years. Any tips?)

Sky Rowan

Big. Chonk. One of them big boys. But—draft horses tend to be very kind and cuddly! I’m pretty sure we could horse-math our way into convincing him!! (It’s like girl math but with four legs) A couple of my favorite horses have been Percheron crosses! Those would be better for riding, but no rules against riding draft horses!! If you’re ever near Atlanta, come ride! ;P

Ashton Johnson

I’m genuinely not even sure where to ask this, so hopefully Taylor in all his wisdom and magic helps me with a question once again lol. Anyway, I remember in the beginning of WBN I asked on a children’s adventure ep where the main content was (this was like ep 2 or 3 of main series timeframe). Taylor graciously explained that episodes are published on public apps like apple, Spotify, etc. Well Taylor, years later, I come with an update to this very question… Is there any plans to make public episodes available on the Patreon or will Patreon stay exclusively for behind pay wall type content?? Also love you and all you do for this wonderful show you are much appreciated good sir!

Morgana Evenstar

Aabria Iyenga-aaar, she deeps beneath spoilers o-O-ohhhhh

Mack Whaley

Okay slay me kinda calling that Izzy is pregnant!! Congrats Brennan!!!!

GameCents

Clue-Clue Tattle-Tattle could also work

The Wizard Skip

Petition for another hour of Lou Wilson wine tasting rants at the Fireside!

Leni Nicole

As a WSET lvl 2 (+ CMS1) who’s no longer in the industry, Lou wine-talk is giving me life. I need more!!! We need a Wine Notes With Lou mini series!

Mary W

is anyone else having issues playing this episode on he overcast app? it’s saying it’s “blocked by publisher” but all other episodes for WBN and for the Fireside are totally fine?

Fraud_Monet

Clue Clue, Hackles Hackle

Aviva

I’m really late to the party on this, but it’s working for me!

Aviva

She slept on Mintgomery? Her loss.

Aviva

His music videos go hard.

Aviva

*slow clap*

Aviva

I worked at sister restaurants, one Spanish and the other Basque. Most of the staff worked in both, so we did pre-shifts and wine tastings together. We often made a game of ridiculous descriptions. One time Gabe said this South American red was like a plush plum carriage on a road of silk which was both hilarious and spot on.

Schoobs

I heard Anna May Wong as Anime Wong as was very confused in the context
