i love that you guys appreciated this show! the writing and pacing was done real well. the actors all did a phenomenal job. and luckily for us we dont have to wait so long for season 2. they've already finished filming and should be releasing early/mid 2027.

also, dorne is the kingdom that the targaryens couldnt control and the tyrells were from the reach. also daeron the good is not the same guy as daeron the daring (alicent's son). when they reuse the names the always have a title/nickname attached to it. like rhaenyra the realms delight and daemon the rogue prince, aegon the usurper and aegon the conqueror. thats the problem with reusing names in families. in my family we have grandma emilia, big emilia and baby emilia nicknames are not as clever but it'll do. LOL

I think the 2nd season is supposed to drop in February

The Iron Islands are sort of a territory like Puerto Rico or The Virgin Islands, and the "Crownlands" aren't really a kingdom of their own, it's more like how Washington D.C. is its own psuedo-state that houses the capitol, it's where King's Landing is and the region surrounding it.

That comparison helps a lot—thank you! The distinction between the Iron Islands as their own territory and the Crownlands as the area directly around King’s Landing makes much more sense now.

We completely agree—the writing and pacing have been so strong, and the cast has been fantastic. We’re very happy we don’t have to wait too long for season two either. Thanks for watching!

That’s what we’ve heard too—February would be amazing! Either way, knowing it’s not a long wait makes us even more excited.

That is really helpful—thank you! The repeated names, especially when they’re reused across different characters and nicknames, have definitely been one of the harder things for us to keep straight. And the family-name comparison is so real; it makes the Targaryen naming system feel a little more understandable.

The strong implication in the books (and more so here imo) is that the one time Dunk has lied is about being a Knight. But the point being it doesn’t matter because he lives up to the ideals and oaths of knighthood more than any other. My own personal theory is that it’s more complicated than that. I think Arlan may have knighted him, but either done so in a silly or unorthodox fashion, or maybe Arlan himself wasn’t a true Knight, and Dunk doesn’t know if he’s legit. This would support both Dunk being a knight, but his hesitancy at knighting Raymund as he doesn’t know the official words and proper way to do it, or if he’s legit. Most likely it’s the former (never really Knighted, doesn’t really matter). Also this is about 100 years after HOTD.

I LOVED the dialogue in AKOTSK, a lot of it was from the books, but it was also executed so well by the cast. Loved Dexter and Peter, their chemistry, and even the supporting cast was great! But I agree - the tonal shift was needed and this series is so refreshing! I love how it's much smaller scale compared to HOTD and GOT, but still adds so much impact. I also loved how they used music and plays to bring life to the world, with Aegon singing about the Blackfyres rebellion while he's sitting on the elm tree, the puppet show about Florian the fool, the singing in the tents - it just gave the world so much character, which I really appreciated. Some of the humor didn't land for me, but overall - I was pleasantly surprised!
