Curious to hear from you chochachos of the Author's Tier about your specific feelings on these panels. I couldn't ask you this until now because my parents were staying with us, but tonight my parents are 300 miles away in Yreka, trying to eat food at a Black Bear Diner, and I don't have to hear about how much saturated fat is in the biscuits.

J Hardy Carroll

Yes the writers of Bettr Call Saul poached that idea for Squat Cobbler, but they made it pies instead. I groaned when I saw it. I recently saw a shit ton of stuff from my first novel show up (uncredited) in Masters of the Air, but I always think of my friend Monica Drake whose novel Clowngirl was optioned by Kristen Wiig and shown to Zach Galifinakis who promptly stole the whole idea and made Baskets without even a tip of the Hatlo hat. Just total dickery, but you can always fall back on the old YEAH? I GOT A MILLIUON IDEAS! WHAT THE FUCK YOU GOT, JACKSS? aside from a condo on St. Kitts and a matteress stuffed with hundreds, I mean.

When your prostate is the size of a grapefruit you too will no longer laugh at voluntary urination. (It was a great line.)

Oppido

I admit I didn't really get the peeing line, especially since Ray had previously expressed a concern that Cornelius was gonna do urine on himself.

Julie (HiDeeHoGal)

I do not endorse Ray's egregious ageism in reference to controlled or uncontrolled excretion. Cornelius may be able to brush such things off but I, being only newly subject to ageism, am not.

Joe Locastro

I got the peeing line heheh but there were some other ringers in there that outshined it. The hopeful man in the cabin (in response to blowing up the Pentagon), and "bring me that magic" both had me rolling. Also, can't condone Connie sassing subconsciously so despite the sharpness of Ray's attack I think I missed it's depth!

Matt Mitchell

I liked the “my news” part especially, like this pseudo-factoid is so particular to Ray.

Now I'm going to wind up calling a cake a "dessert cake" in mixed company and once again, people will wonder "Is Jacquie okay?" (The answer is no, she is not okay, her brain is ruined by a webcomic.)

Oppido

You can have cakes at tea-time if you're English, but that just doesn't do it for ol' Ray.

Jacquelyn R Walters

Likewise, he probably isn't looking for a stack of pancakes, or a cake or soap. A crab cake would be right out.

idk, the peeing line made me laugh way too hard, maybe because I’m an elder millennial in an office full of zoomers who don’t understand my cultural references and make me feel older than dirt

Scott Miller

I got and enjoyed the peeing line. I had forgotten Ray's dessert cakes proclivities, so that would have been lost on me. There's an old Bloom County strip about the Pentagon toilet situation, so that was a nice connection for me that you may or may not have been aware of.

Self reference is only masturbatory in a vacuum. When we're all actively enjoying it, it's more like a circle jerk, which isn't objectively better, but it is different and still most likely ends in everyone having a good time.
