This one should be fun for those who haven't been all the way through the canon, but still has a few deep cuts to keep it competitive. Come back and brag in the comments about your scores, the depths of your Chochachodom, and why nobody really cares about Emeril.

Take The Quiz!

Edit: I realized I didn't have a point assigned to one of the questions (Ray's Country Club) but this has been fixed. This was also the most-missed question, so, sorry for the accounting glootch everybody!

Shawn Clark

I did bad. Real bad. Bad enough that I could have almost doubled my score if I had just stuck with my first pick on multiple questions.

TaxoBob

20/21 - flying by the seat of my pants on a couple. Can't believe I missed the hidden food in Walk-Around Butt, but I got some I wasn't 100% sure about.

TaxoBob

I feel like I need to re-read the Blogs in prep for the Actually Hard Mode

Spyguitar

18/21, I'll take it

Rob Dalton

solamente 5: i'm the guy who sucks. plus i got depression. (maybe thc DOES affect memory?)

Daniel M Ford

I feel pretty good about 19/21. Roast Beef in the particular shop is a running gag with my wife.

Spyguitar

And I don't know that I'm the first to say this, but Emeril seems likely to be the most well-adjusted and content member of the cast, by a fair bit

Mina Roller

17 of 21 - better than the last quiz 😀

Clench and Cheese

18/21. On the other hand, I had forgotten about Philippe dancing with the cake. Chris, how about a t-shirt of that image? PLEEEEAAAAASSSEE?

Julie (HiDeeHoGal)

17/21. It would have been 18 but I second guessed on Lyle's joint machine. I missed the other ones because of the interchangeable possibilities, if you know what I mean.

b.zap

18/21. Talked myself out of the Fightin' Lemonis grr

Spyguitar

Shit, I don't remember this reference. Remind me?

Nate

Wow, I am shocked that I achieved such a shamefully low score.

Glen N

17! Frustrated because there were a couple that I knew but second guessed myself.

Glen N

The tears they do come but they are not often.

Asherdan

Woof, wrong side of the bell curve on this one!

Distant Egg Song

17/21. Shocked that I got the Achewood Underground's developer's name correct, but it helped that I think 3 of the alternatives were from the "badass old-timey names" comic.

Sedric and Charlie

I got 16 out of 21. Some of these errors I am embarrassed by, and some of my successes I am genuinely proud of myself for

Derek Adams

21, but there are actually 22 questions. I think the scoring is a little off. I got Ray's country club wrong, but where I'd have expected 0/1 there was nothing.

Bungus Bronbo

16! Man, the two near identical answers to Ray's golf club was... cheeky. And I honestly had trouble believing there was actually a car model named that, so I went with my second guess. Not bad though, glad all this crucial information I built up all these years is coming in handy.

Spyguitar

Ah of course! I love the wedding arc so much, can't believe I forgot that little detail

Stavro

18/21! My best so far.

Achewood

Why do you think this is? As the author of the quiz, I'm curious about such trends.

Achewood

I bet you're angry and rarin' for quiz 4 now though, re-seizin' the crown

Achewood

Remarkable, esp to get Ray's country club, which was very rarely mentioned

Achewood

Superb! Most of this trivia was over two decades old.

Achewood

Rob! Rob. ROBBBBBBBBB NOOOOOOO

Achewood

My kid just applied to work in a bead shop. I'm not making this up.

Achewood

A TREAT OF A CAKE DESCENDS DOWN THE CENTER OF A SPIRAL STAIRCASE, IT IS IN SOME KIND OF BASKET

Achewood

We have reviewed your score and found it Delightful

Achewood

One ahead of the average, and competition is tough with the Mega Nerds

Achewood

I'm eventually setting up a Print On Demand store where one-offs like this will live. Send in a request, see the design "soon"

Achewood

Did you guess pasta roller?

Achewood

The logo is a compact, orotund octogenarian with a little lightning bolt behind each ear

Achewood

That's the BUSINESS and there are HIGH FIVES!

Achewood

Why was this one so hard for so many heads? The mean is sitting at 16 but I'm seeing a lot of Chos turn in single digits

Achewood

17 is still pretty impressive for a set of questions that predate Obama

Daniel M Ford

Will you ever have to brave the crunchy texture of the perfectly neutral carpet or alternately the perfectly annoying pitch of its not-at-all-level wooden floor?

Achewood

A lot of heads took it on the chin this time. I can't yet figure out why.

TaxoBob

I'm also sure that if these things were fill-in-the-blank instead of multiple choice I would be...struggling

Achewood

That was the design, yeah. I figured there was a chance a quiz taker would vaguely remember those as achewood names, but not necessarily of that specific, single strip.

Achewood

Come now, what was your proudest click

Achewood

Oh nuts, I didn't have a point assigned to the Ray's Country Club one. I do now. Thanks for catching that. It was also the one most people got wrong so there may not be as many perfect scores as people were thinking.

Achewood

When we have the ceremony in 2028 I hope to see you on the podium.

Achewood

Huzzah, and a lot of heads are taking a dive on this one! Well played.

Achewood

I can already hear whatever chimey thing is activated by opening the door, loudly announcing all who flee

Nicholas Williams

The staircase is marble, and everything is very quiet, and there is no other furniture, and there is no one at the top of the cake-lowering device, as it was automated long ago. I am in athefoyer, and I am expected to eat the cake in silence. It's the beginning of a 1980s text-adventure computer game. Who baked the cake? Some kind of creature?

Achewood

I'm having a Platinum Brain Club one soon that's all fill-ins, for the big bragging rights.

Nate

I genuinely have no idea. Somehow it hit a great deal of blind spots for me! I wish I could point to a specific aspect that caused this

Achewood

There is a fork to the North, and to the Left, and to South. The Northern fork has four tines. The fork on the left has three. The Southern fork has one tine. It is a knife. also re-check your score, I had forgotten to assign a point to the Country Club question, but have now remedied that.

Achewood

Do you have a blood pressure machine or perhaps are taking too much magnesium

Nicholas Williams

Is an Achewood text game still something that can happen? All like finding a car key in a puddle of Lyle-Vomit? The key is for Todd's van?

Achewood

Find me a development platform that makes it dead-easy for an Idiot of Computers to build a world and I will write that game in the bathroom at the gym in three days

Achewood

'Twas a TRAP! (Rolling the R for ten straight seconds before finishing the word)

Paul Dunn

20! I fluffed up on the mascot, and got my nuts mixed up. Still, pretty pleased - that one had some headscratchers.

Traedran

22/22. No Power Fingers Malone am I, given the impossibility of the score, but I'm grateful that I finally aced one flawlessly.

Shawn Clark

Because I read most of these strips as you put them out and possess a memory that should have my teenage daughter shopping for assisted living facilities ASAP.

Sedric and Charlie

Showbiz' beverage of choice. I really pulled that out of the hat at the last minute. There are some, like the leprechaun's name, where I can't claim too much pride because I am simply alarmingly over-familiar with certain strips, and the New Characters strip happens to be one of them

Oppido

17 out of 21. I'm feeling particularly "Because I Got Depression" today for some reason, but on another day I think I'd be humming hell of ditties about this.

Gavin Byrnes

Wow, only 10 on this one after 28 and 18. I'm going backwards. No idea why.

Travis O.

I was legit going to ask if it was an anthropomorphic lemon or a cartoon old man in a hat, a la the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, etc. Wow!

Travis O.

21! I should not have shouted my Achewood Quiz score while at the casino but it's fine, I was bored anyway

Amelia Hall

21/22; whiffed on the name of Ray's country club. They're all such great bland "rich people go here" names. To the homies&chos rough around the edges about scores: you are all excellent people and I am honored to be here with y'all.

Nicholas Williams

It's INSANE that such a platform does not exist. By the way I got the Country Club question CORRECT.

Nicholas Williams

I assume you've explored Written Realms? Is it a big piece of shit? Google told me about it, and google doesn't know anything at all anymore.

Andrew Reynolds

18, this was a great one! A couple of the answers I just did not remember. Also, somehow I have absolutely no memory of the one-armed leprechaun. XD

Andrew Reynolds

I looked it up after the fact. I blame Steven the waiter for burning into my forever-memory, taking said leprechaun's place.

Travis O.

That's the same one I whiffed on, high five!

Achewood

My hat is off to you. (Later, when I put a hat on, I will momentary lift it and silently think your name)

Achewood

also, I fixed the scoring scale

Achewood

You're ahead of the average of 14.85! Surely that parts a cloud or two.

Achewood

A lot of Chos are taking it on the nose this time. Perhaps the first quizzes were just made of the most familiar stuff, even though it all has similar accessibility/strip frequency.

Achewood

When you win at Craps, do you yell "Craps"? I don't play that game.

Achewood

Whiffed just like Ray on the first tee! But that's a phenomenal showing. And the three "hidden/pines" answers have an equal number of answers.

Achewood

ahead of the mean! Bravo, Cho. Fun fact: Steven is based on an actual waiter I once had at a Denny's in Santa Cruz. Nothing about him was changed.

Achewood

I would lose a lot of Achewood trivia contests, after a few decades too many of Burnett's Discount-Flavor Vodka

Nate

I never understood how savings was supposed to taste like burning turpentine, but Burnett's seemed convinced that was the ideal.

Chris Daniels

I took an educated guess on that one and got it, but then I second guessed myself on the dang leprechaun question and it turned out my first choice was right after all

Chris Daniels

21/22 and this is the only time I do a good job at trivia that isn't specifically about math questions with stupid answers

A. Hamster

20/22, I forgot the country club name and the car Little Nephew drove into the lake.

S. J. Sulzer

19. I did not expect the namesake double-dip so I second-guessed myself on one of those names when I in fact should not have. Mistakes also arose with 80s bands and leprechauns. But not at the same time.

Andrew Groves

18/22, though question 1 is a trick question. As the alt text stated: nobody knows what made that little robot gay

Travis O.

Getting disqualified from the World Series of Poker for exclaiming "that's poker, baybee!" every time I win a hand

Achewood

Superb! Only 1/4 of players got the replacement character one.

Achewood

Country Club Name was the downfall of 2/3 of players.

Achewood

Bravo! Was it the country club name that got you? Only 1/4 of players got that one.

Achewood

All big wet cigar butt, all wraparound shades, all "Slash" leather top hat

Evan Tessier

20/22. I couldn't even -find- Phillipe's dream food.

Achewood

I'd send you the link but achewood.com seems to be down at the moment. Look up "caaake" in the A.S.S.

FactWino

10, which is on par with what I got on the other two quizzes. I had a lot of second-guessing and choosing the wrong one. All I can say is that I haven’t read through the whole corpus in what is it now, 40-50 years? Does that sound right?

Achewood

It actually feels much longer, if you lay out all the mitochondria that have died within me end-to-end and start walking along the trail.

FactWino

Oh man, I am so sad I missed the Todddd Rampant shirt. I got the Dude & Catastrophe shirt and have rued the day I didn’t just order both. Alas, I was poorer then.

Chris Daniels

No, that one I got on an educated guess (I had it down to 50/50, and guessed the right one) but actually I second guessed myself on the damn leprechaun

Achewood

Well, they are tricksters…especially when they have dwelt in your memory for so long, getting bored and making games

Obvious Instance

18/22.. one armed leprechaun replacement character??

Gregory Sheets

16/22, but I straight up forgot to answer like four questions in my jumping around trying to answer the ones I was pretty sure of first. Still better than I expected to do.

Achewood

This was a very early one-off strip. It also featured a snithing cat who was a usability engineer, because I played poker with this annoying guy who was a usability engineer and I wanted to represent him as a crappy animal.

Achewood

Man I think you get a do-over if you turned in an inadvertent incomplete. Rally! (But still a great score, this one tanked a lot of Hard Chos.)
