If someone persuades you to change your mind, do you even have free will anymore, mannnn? Re: your rewrites, surprisingly good choice not to end the sentence on "egg." I imagine it must've felt counterintuitive, "egg" being a funny word, but at a certain point you have to clear out the lane and give Cornelius's metaphor space to operate.
