2025's most unexpected scandal involves facts that have been known for years and exactly zero new information. And yet it has managed to keep consummate bullshitter Donald Trump seemingly flatfooted. In this episode, Patrick Blanchfield (co-host of Ordinary Unhappiness) joins Moira and Adrian to talk about the late Jeffrey Epstein, his files, the coverup, Trump and the return of the not-at-all repressed. Their conversation touches on the gender politics of revelation, conspiracies real and imagined, blood libel, and the long shadow of #MeToo.

Lots and lots of trigger warnings obviously!

re: Pat’s point about Trump being scared with his supporters. Wasn’t the Butler, PA shooter q-anon pilled, that’s how he came to shooting Trump?

Was anything NOT covered here? Yet I feel like y'all could've kept going for hours and I'd have remained riveted.

Amazing and comprehensive episode. I wish we would move away from the term “underage women” and toward something more akin to “pubescent children”. The more recognition in public discourse that these are children and this is pedophilia might help move us in the direction of addressing it appropriately at scale.

Thank you! I feel like I’ve been banging my head against a brick wall. We already knew Trump was a predator and he was re-elected anyway. The Epstein files represent the kind of magical thinking that disguises how banal these evil cabbage moths are.
