Sooooo ..Lemme get this straight They retconned the ending of Season 1 where the Justice League shows up ...It's now the Justice Gang (that's not the official name ..we'll workshop it) that showed up instead (which also means the scene from the pilot where Peacemaker jokes about that Aquaman fucks fish never happened) This means Peacemaker Season 2 is already taking place in the new DCU ...BUT... Rick Flag Sr. in this very episode is said to be holding a grudge with Peacemaker over killing his son ...That's a clear reference to The Suicide Squad (directed by James Gunn) ..Where Rick Flag Jr. is killed by Peacemaker ...Don't even try to fansplain it So not only could James Gunn NOT. part ways with his Peacemaker show ...He ALSO. couldn't let go of his Suicide Squad movie Y'know ...BOTH. of which had HEAVY. Snyderverse elements in it We're just supposed to forget about that? ...Are we supposed to rewrite the movie and parts of Season 1 of Peacemaker in our head? Did the new DCU Harley never interact with Tattoo Joker and Batfleck for instance? ...Does T.D.K. not look EXACTLY. like Guy Gardner? ...Amanda Waller DOESN'T have Superman on speed dial? (ok that one's Black Adam ..But still ..The plotholes aren't just contained to The Suicide Squad) This retcon is so poorly handled ...It just smells of desperation from Gunn to try and keep his own creations intact so he could move them into this new DCU ...A move that just opens up a whole list of questions ...It's just sad ...I was hoping for an ACTUAL. reboot ...But ..The man just can't let go ...This decision was either done cause "pure ego" or "money" or a bit of both ...It WASN'T done creatively nor in the best interest for the future of the new DCU And to think ...They actually had the perfect way to fix this shit ...A somewhat acceptable way to bring Peacemaker into the new DCU (and still have him be able to reference earlier events related to his life in the Snyderverse) ALL. they had to do ...Literally.. ALL. ....Was to have this whole "Peacemaker finding a door to an alternate Earth" situation LEAD. to him finding the new DCU ...That's ALL. ...It was right there! But nah ...Gunn went with a retcon instead and in the process opened up a bunch of plotholes that don't make sense that just leave smart people with a FUCKTON. of questions I'm going to keep watching this show ...Even though I wasn't really interested in having more Snyderverse stuff now that the verse got rebooted (and that IS. what this show is ..It's NOT. DCU ..It's Snyderverse coated) ...The whole alternate verse story has got me intrigued But I stand by what I've said in the past ...They rebooted the verse ...THIS. version of Peacemaker should NOT. exist any longer or at the very least should have been fixed PROPERLY. (which it most decidedly WASN'T) .......Oh and the new intro is shit... But with several actors having left I guess it made sense to record a new one ...Too bad about the music choice ...But that's not the first time DCU has bad music ...I still can't get those 2 songs from the new Superman out of my head ...Good movie ...Shit music Anyhoos ..That's my opinion ..Deal with it

Happy to seee this show return, love it. And very happy at the decision to release Superman to rent at home before this aired, because it crosses over. I did really like Superman, like the guy playing him. But glad this show is back, it is a lotta fun.

I don't think Gunn took the wholebig picture seriously when adding retcons. He basically just said I'll fix what's necessary so it makes sense in the new universe that's being established. He has said for awhile that it's going to be "loose canon" and they aren't putting continuity under a microscope, like with the MCU. The main thing is, it's a fun show. The intro was better in the first season but it's easy to skip it. I find the new direction so far to be good. They are keeping the spirit and tone of the first season but adding some characters and things to keep it fresh. It's only the first episode, so we'll see where it goes.

Hi shan, James Gunn here…nah I’m not…. Or am’I? Shan “I don’t like the new theme song” same Shan! Same! The woman who came out crying after the “Justice Gang” interview was “White Rabbit”an obscure Batman villain who teamed up with the mad-hatter they had a whole Alice in wonderland team-up vibe going on. About the random orgy scene, someone on set had to organise that, like you naked dude front and centre, you two grind on each other next to John and everyone else dance freely… Aaand action! Hello! I would crawl on my belly over broken glass to get that job 🤣 The only problem I have with multiverse stories is there’s no stakes because we can just go get another Peacemaker when one dies it’s something the M-she-U is suffering from now but we’ll see where this goes. I can’t believe we live in a world where Superman and orgies are in the same universe, what a time to be alive. 30 seconds to mars suck, come at me. I said what I said. Until next time bad guy out.
