While not all, many serial killers do talk like he did. Edmund Kemper a famous serial killer kept getting away with killing people until he turned himself in to the police. He knew he was a monster and while interviewed in prison said they should kill him right away in stead of wasting money keeping him there. You said you would rather not watch that kind of thing or I would recommend the series Mindhunter. Those interviews are acted out in a couple episodes. The series is about the FBI’s first serial killer task force that utilizes behavior psychology to identify serial killers and capture them. To do this they went from prison to prison interviewing serial killers so that they could analyze what makes a serial killer and how they think. I liked this episode. The advice about the pony tail, looking stupid, may be an olive branch from Cristina to Meredith. Maybe a sign that their feud might be fading. Alex wanting to take Izzy to see his mom is a sign their relationship is getting closer. Alex being very nice to Izzy. He was being confrontational to Arizona on the plane, but she put him in his place with the “tiny coffin” speech. Cristina seems to be feeling empathetic towards what Hunt went through and seeing his vulnerability could be bringing them closer together. I liked Derek’s mom too. She seemed to have good advice for everyone. Especially when she talked to Derek about Meredith. We learned a little Derek back story with his dad. It sounds like his dad may have something to do with murder. I am starting to like this Arizona. She’s perky yet has some steel in her if she can back down Bailey and Alex in the same episode. Izzy still ‘cheating’ on Alex with a ghost.

HAPPY NEW YEAR I think the difference between the guy on death row with a week before being executed and the cancer patient with 6 months left is for one, the amount of time left, but also the fact that a cancer patient can either be out in the world or at least surrounded by their loved ones makes a difference for me. Like he’s just in a cell for a week and then gets killed. I think when talking about the serial killer or a rapist or whatever it kinda does make sense for them to talk like that just because in order to commit those crimes in the first place you have to be a psychopath in some way or another. The guy with the height surgery is crazy. Maybe it’s because i’m 6’3 but people obsessing over their height is insane to me. There’s someone out there for everyone, not everyone has the same physical preferences. I don’t love how they tried to humanise the serial killer in this one, but it’s probably quite realistic the way it happened though and there are people that will feel sorry for him like that. I really like Derek’s mum. Her interactions with Meredith and Mark in this episode were really nice. I’m glad she liked the real Meredith and not the fake one that she tried to play. I find the scene of the murderer bashing his head into the board so difficult to watch. I do like the way that played out though with Meredith using the “whatever helps you sleep at night” line.
