Hey Shan hope you’re okay. I can’t put into words how much I love this episode but I will try for you guys and Shan - it has elements of horror, it’s a love story and it features Tennants (my Doctors) Tardis console room. If you wanted to “real world” the story it’s about the love a man has for his car, why we give them girls names and how much we rely on them. In an interview with Neil Gaiman (who wrote this one) on BBC breakfast, he revealed that this episode is "very spooky" and that fans "are likely to be biting their nails off by the end". Basically he wanted you shit-scared. The “Junk TARDIS” console was the subject of a 2009 design competition on Blue Peter. The winning design was created by 12 year old Susannah Leah, whose subsequent visits to the BBC Art Department and location filming for this story were featured in the 10 May 2011 episode of Blue Peter. Leah's design was selected by Steven Moffat, Edward Thomas, the production designer for the previous series, and Tim Levell, a Blue Peter editor. How fuckin cool is that! The only thing I ever designed as a kid was a mess and sometimes it ended up on the fridge. The drawing was redesigned faithfully by the production team into the prop for the show, including the use of a coat hanger to start the Junk TARDIS. Leah was brought by Blue Peter to see both the set under construction and on location during filming of the scenes, meeting Matt Smith and the other actors and production crew. The voice of House was Michael Sheen he later acted alongside David Tennant in the TV series Good Omens. Also written by Neil Gaiman. During a read-through of the script, the producers asked Suranne Jones to "neutralise [her accent] a bit," because they did not want Jones to "be a Northerner" or have a standard accent, but to act "kinda like the Doctor." Very very talented actress I’ve seen on television for years 10/10 no notes. Dropped from the script was a sequence in which Amy was forced to play a creepy version of Hide and Seek inside House itself. I never skip this episode on a rewatch it’s beautiful, creepy and magical all rolled into one. I watch it when I’m sad, I can’t wait for other reactors (even those I don’t like no names but we all know who) to get to this episode it’s a straight 10/10 no notes. It’s a Kenny Loggins. It’s 3 roses. My favourite scene - the Doctors joy at the end when one of the levers moves by itself. Jay Jay outty.

The TARDIS is the only companion who will never leave the Doctor. Just like they said "it's always the Doctor and her when everyone else has gone." She has been with him after he left home in the 60s, after the Time War and is gonna stay with him forever. The only bit home he has left. My favourite line is when she says she "always took where he needed to go", sums up the show in a nutcase.

This used to be one of my all-time favourites, but I have very mixed feelings about re-watching this episode now, knowing what I do about Neil Gaiman.
