When Juliet finds out Shawn isn't the real "Mantis", Shawn tells her "I know, you know I'm not telling the truth. I know you know." That is actually the opening lyric to the show's theme song. The cut to commercials here used the last scene being turned into a comic book frame which changes every break. This may be a reference to The Wild Wild West which was a western action hero series in the 60’s and 70’s. GOOD CALL Shan. You pointed out Clark Kent and BAM! There he is. Yeah, mostly Batman references. I really liked the POW, BAND & WHIFF thing they did. Nice catch on the music cues for those too. Also references, as you said, to Clark Kent. Both were superhero’s that are also work for newspaper. There could also be a reference to Spiderman, who also works for newspaper.

Greg Savolainen

They do a superhero episode and they don’t do a lot of references, but when it’s something you do not know a lot about it’s flooded with references and usually 1970’s or 1980’s references which you probably know little about. Tap Man and The Catch are some of the weakest superhero names, the first season when they did a superhero episode Shawns name was Psych Man much better superhero name of course Gus kept Tap Man. I liked this episode
