Ugg, Neil Gaiman episode. And this one doesn't even add interesting lore like "The Doctor's Wife" did, just a bunch of new abilities for the Cybermen (some of which were kind of ripped off the Borg from Star Trek). Yeah, bringing kids on the TARDIS is wildly irresponsible, especially since the Doctor can't even always pilot it reliably. I think if the soldier lady had blown up the planet they would all have just died, it was the Emperor activating it that sent a signal to his ship. But that means the Emperor could have got them all out alive at any time. Also, you are 100% right about tips, unfortunately its also a thing here in Canada and the amount you're expected to tip keeps getting higher so restaurants don't have to pay their staff decently.

Hey Shan hope you’re okay I see your fringe has grown out and looks fine, no danger. Though not stated in the episode, Neil Gaiman (who wrote it) revealed that he saw it as taking place "a quarter of a million years into the future" this feels like such a Gaiman script he also wrote “The Doctors wife” an absolute favourite of mine. Jenna Coleman would work with Neil Gaiman again on The Sandman. And he wouldn’t stop there following the success of The Doctor's Wife Steven Moffat invited Neil Gaiman to write a second script for the series. Gaiman advised Moffat that he wouldn’t be available, because his previous episode had been such a time-consuming endeavour. However, he was persuaded when Moffat suggested that this would be an opportunity to revamp the Cybermen. Everything I found out about this ‘filler’ episode relates to Neil Gaiman and his love for Doctor who, how the script ended up being a different version than the finished product, how he lost the script on his laptop which he left on a plane and plenty of links from this story to ones of the classic series. Honestly thought the chubby soldier guy was Butch from Gotham for like half the episode but it wasn’t. The blonde haired soldier lady was Melanie Owen from British soap opera Eastenders I’m used to seeing her moan about life in London. Talented woman indeed. Two bombs always skip on a rewatch I think I blacked out half way through, don’t take someone else’s kids on the TARDIS with you they’re unpredictable. Jenny Coleman is still fit. Ma’am. She should be in charge of whatever she wants. Ma’am. At ease. Thanks Girl Scout, peace and chicken grease ✌🏽

Warwick Davis (Porrige) is such an underrated actor. He's been in all the big sci-fi and fantasy stuff, Star Wars (played an Ewok), Harry Potter (Griphook the goblin and Professor Flitwick) and was the lead character in his own movie by George Lucas called Willow (even had its own Disney+ show). He's also co-founded Little People UK to support anyone who has dwarfism, so all I can say is "life well lived".

Also thoughts on episode does, not bad, like the design for the Cybermen, Matt Smith is fun to watch as Mr Clever. At this point I think they were like "you what Matt, go crazy in this. Chew up the scenery and do a Jim Carrey villain of something".
