Clara is being very insensitive when talking with Danny. People being rude seems to be a theme for this season. They also definitely dialed up the spooky/horror elements this season. I forgot how cute Danny and Clara could be sometimes though, on the rare occasions they aren't misunderstanding each other. Yeah I see what you mean about asexual 12.

Hey y’all Listen! Yea nah yea I actually like this one and don’t skip on a rewatch. Even if the Doctor does get a bit ‘shouty’ in this one and I know you don’t like being shouted at but maybe I think he was doing it for her own good and it came from the frustration of not knowing what it was he was dealing with. This episode marks the first time the Doctor has been portrayed as a child in the televised series. I gotta be honest, every relationship I’ve ever had the beginning of it was always the best part, where you spend ages just talking to that special person and enjoying everything they have to say, so how the fuck do Clara and Danny get together after their interactions, they’re not even on the same page half the time. Good episode to showcase Clara as the companion in my opinion and the story really comes together at the end, big fan of this one. Or…. If you didn’t like it you’d say it was a nothing burger (like a smash burger) all style over substance the Doctor saw nothing, annoyed everyone he came into contact with, he stole the guy at the Orphanages coffee, he broke into an Orphanage and scared one of the kids. Orson Pink (yes he saved his life too) but why make him walk into a restaurant, as an astronaut, technically he was out and off planet no need to go back. Then the Doctor gets a whack on the head and leaves without knowing anything. Did he insult Clara’s looks in this one, yes lots of times. 3 mirrors and not looking good from the back. He is definitely Asexual because any man breathing would find her incredibly attractive from the front or the back. So what was the point. Don’t know. One Rose. In awhile crocodile

Oh the girl who he trapped in a mirror back when he was Tennant, I never made that connection. Nice catch!

I think the Doctor has always been asexual, it was strongly implied in the shop's classic area, cause he travelled with many beautiful young women but wasn't interested in any of them or with the men that travelled with him as well. I think only the Tennant and Smith doctors weren't asexual.

2026-10-14 03:00 This episode is pretty much the Doctor being what he has always been, a scientist. He's trying to find out why are all living beings in the universe scared of the dark, because deep down he still is, but he's scientific mind won't allow it. Honestly no matter how old we are, we're still going to be scared of the dark. I remember watching this and I was scared by it, even more when that thing on Rupert's bed appeared, and we never see it that what makes it scarier.

I've only watched bits of the classic series, but my understanding is that the Doctor wasn't very sexual in it. I think the shift probably started with Eight, but it becomes more obvious in Ten and Eleven, yes. Twelve is more a reversion back to the classic Doctors in this way (its implied the War Doctor was too, he acts surprised by Ten kissing Elizabeth and asks if there's a lot of this in the future).

Doctor Who doesn't often do horror, but when it does it tends to be quite effective (see also: Blink with the Weeping Angels to an extent, and especially, whatever was going on with that entity that repeated what people said in Midnight).
