the zigzag hair part was big in the 90s

Yay, more improv lyrics! :D Fun fact: The tall lanky Gentleman with the super expressive hands is Doug Jones, who played the Amphibian Man in The Shape of Water :)

Also I love that you made the connection of the Gentlemen to Der Kindestod, the demon from Killed by Death. I always consider them to be in the same super-creepy category, along with one other demon who comes along in season 6 (not saying any more, but he's super scary, and you'll know when you get to him). They're the top 3 scariest Buffy demons in my opinion. Hush is one of the best Buffy episodes of them all.

WB

I love how spike looks at Xander after he tried to make a phone call. Nothing could say you’re an idiot better.

Hush is on most lists of the top scariest tv episodes. Giles friend and Tara were needed to add some tension - characters who don't know all the demon fighting stuff and who might die. The season storyline moves forward; Willow gets a magic friend and Buffy & Riley (still hard to care about him or his friends) know somethings up.

Hef

In season 1 Xander couldn't compete with Angel for Buffy's affection. In season 4 Riley can't compete with Angel for the audience's affection.

Chris Peacock

My personal 3rd favorite episode. Great reaction. As always.

rudy

Your reaction to the Gentleman was mine as well so creepy. I like how they had a sense of weird humor though. Haha

peggin

The Gentlemen were definitely every bit as creepy and terrifying as Der Kindestod, the main difference being that the Gentlemen were in an episode that was spectacularly good, whereas Der Kindestod, not so much (the main thing I love about Killed By Death is Cordelia's comment about the uselessness of tact)

Timotey Kuhn

Ohhhhh.... the way your eyes widened to their absolute limit once Anya mentioned Giles' "orgasm friend"..........utter brilliance!

Scarlett Monrow

If it happened today, most people would be able to speak through some phone app - convert text into speech. How fast our world changes ... :)

I totally forgot that the episode explained why they just couldn't bring someone in from outside Sunnydale who still had their voice. The news report said the town was quarantined and the CDC wasn't allowing any flights in or out.

Sharon Owen

oh my god, this episode has so many parallels with covid times... quarantining, blaming vaccinations, people panic buying, people overcharging for goods (message boards), riots... well done on predicting parts of the future Buffy team! (Shan said this would be terrifying if it happened in real life... well we're living a version of this, except it's happened for longer on a larger scale!)
