Ok. I just went through your list of reactions and I think I have come up with a few movies you have yet to react to. Here's my list in No particular order, and at the risk that some of these stretch the idea of a Drama as a Genre. Million Dollar Baby - It has kind of a star studded cast with Morgan Freeman, Clint Eastwood and Hillary Swank leading it. Its primarily about boxing, but TBH it's more about the relationships one makes outside of your family. It always makes me bawl. City of God - I don't know if this is going to be a good one to react to since it's both incredibly violent, and very explicit. Also it has one of the hardest to watch scenes I have ever watched in any movie. It's amazing however, almost like an Brazilian Goodfellas. Interstellar - I'm surprised I didn't see this one already reacted to. It's easily one of my favorite films and I've even written an essay on it. The cinematography alone is stunning and it's one of Christopher Nolan's best works. A Star is Born - Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are so charismatic in this movie It's hard not to dote on it. And you know a movie is good when Sam Elliott is in it. This movie is actually like the third iteration of it. I think the first one was done in the '50s and then it was redone in the '70s. Same story, still incredible. Princess Mononoke - I was thinking about either suggesting this or grave of the fireflies. But to be honest with you I have not watched grave of the fireflies because I know the premise quite well at this point in my life and I feel like it would literally break me. So I'm recommending princess mononoke since at least it has a kind of a happy ending.

- The Intouchables (2011) - The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019) - Gran Torino (2008)

This is a difficult category for me. Drama covers so many facets of entertainment. There’s a reason the High School course or club is called Drama, even though the plays they do are often comedies. The only way I can segment this is by choosing my favorite actor of all time. Gene Hackman is, to even his peers, on a level all his own. Just thinking of him talking to and whipping Morgan Freeman in The Unforgiven sends shivers down my spine. He encapsulates a role in a way that is a blend of Classical, Stanislavski, and Method all at once. He can play Comedy like in The Birdcage or Young Frankenstein, Action like in (and I say this with full reverence) The French Connection or The Package, antagonist like in The Unforgiven or The Quick and the Dead or No Way Out, or dramatic lead like in the four movies I’m nominating for this poll. *Hoosiers (1986) *Mississippi Burning (1988) *The Conversation (1974) *Crimson Tide (1995) Hackman retired, purposefully I might add, in 2004. While he is still alive, the cinematic world was the weaker for it. Like the music world was when David Bowie died. As an actor he left us with two very important questions. 1. Did you ever see those Lipizzaner Stallions? 2. Did you ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie? How’s that for Drama?

For no particular reason, my mind went to true stories, so... The Big Short (2015) One of several movies (but easily the funniest) that describe one of the major ways which those of us who were adults in 2008 really, really, really screwed up the world we are handing off to you youngsters. A lot of people apparently like Margin Call better, but I find this one is more approachable because it uses humor to explain what happened and it shows more about how regular people were impacted. Also, probably the best use of breaking the fourth wall I've ever seen. Good Night, and Good Luck (2005) I'm a retired (thank God) reporter, so this is easily a favorite of mine, as it tells the story of my real-life professional hero, Edward R. Murrow, and how he played a major part in taking down McCarthy and McCarthyism. In my view, George Clooney's best directorial effort and David Strathairn's best as an actor. All the President's Men (1976) Again, retired (thank God) reporter here, so, again, a favorite. Inherit the Wind (1960) My all-time favorite stage play made into one of my favorite movies. Based on a true story, but with name changes to avoid legal issues.

1. Rope (1948) Hitchcock film that was filmed in a series of long one-takes on a single set and meant to portray the drama happening in real time 2. Marcel The Shell with Shoes On (2022) who says a stop-action film starring an anthropomorphized hermit-crab shell can’t be a drama? 3. Miller’s Crossing (1991) Coen Brothers 4. The Lords of Discipline (1983) I don’t think this movie is particularly well-regarded, like many things I love, but it’s one of my favorite movies.
