I would like to balance out the next War movie watch with something lighter so what Genre would you like?

I am voting musical for one movie and one movie only. (technically it could also be considered a comedy, but I wouldn't nominate it for that.) (or would I? :D)

Jeb Manning

Comedy definitley. I can think of a few that are good for the summer right now: -It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963) -The Great Race (1965) -What's Up, Doc? (1972) -Blazing Saddles (1974) -The Muppet Movie (1979) -Clue (1985)

Dr. Strangelove!

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

I voted for musical just for a change of pace but I'm certain "Comedy" will win.

David Crabtree

Animation! (Hoping for Transformers: The Movie!)

Kane Is Able

Hangover! If she hasn't seen The Hangover then we need to push for that one.

Bill Maurer

Comedy Night at the Opera (Marx Brothers) Pink Panther (Peter Sellers) Fast Times at Ridgemont High Caddyshack

Teyon Alexander

Animation: Your Name, Megamind, Lego Movie, Zootopia, Over the Hedge, Para-Norman, Kubo and the Two Strings.

James Rogers

I see plenty of opportunities for hybridization no matter which genre wins. For animation you could pick Fantasia or Allegro non troppo (the better choice of the two) and get some great music. For musical you could make the obvious choice; South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. That way you get the greatest movie musical of all time. Its animated and a comedy to most (my wife may have a slightly different opinion).

John Brennan

What about a Comedy Musical Animation...? South Park The Movie??

James Rogers

I'm going to vote comedy and lobby hard for The Producers (1967) should that genre win. And I will not accept the 2005 musical version instead. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick will never replace Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder in my heart.

Some Like It Hot 🎻🎷🚹🚹🔫🩸🩸💄🚺🚺👗💃🚃🏖️⛴️👨‍✈️🌹🤑💁‍♂️🤷‍♂️😍

I've been thinking of suggesting a genre with no official name: maybe Artlthouse animation or alternative animation? Basically films that aren't anime but aren't aimed at kids.Films might include Triplets of Belleville, Secret of Kells, A Cat in Paris, April and the Extraordinary World...

AstralCars

Voted for musicals because musicals are awesome and NO ONE reacts to them! 🤦‍♂️

Raieldon

I'll second Night At The Opera and throw in Annie Hall

Assuming comedy wins, I may submit a couple from the list below if/when Ames asks for noms. “Roman Holiday” (1953) “The Apartment” (1960) [AFI Top 100] “National Lampoon’s Vacation” (1983) “Office Space” (1999) “Catch Me If You Can” (2002) [Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks] “Juno” (2007) “Midnight in Paris” (2011) [Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams]

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

If Comedy wins, I'd nominate any Woody Allen film starting with "Take the Money and Run" and ending with "Annie Hall".... I'd maybe include "Zelig".

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

If animation wins, I hope the movie isn't CGI. I'm a traditionalist and would like to see cel animation or stop motion animation win.

Chris Baldwin

A top five comedy in my book--"Death to Smoochy" !!!!!!!

John Courtright

Always the optimist, I voted Musical. 😂🎶 I'd love to see Ames react to My Fair Lady (1964) with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison!! What a delightful film!! Since comedy will win, I think it would be a blast to see Ames react to the hilarious Bill Murray film, What About Bob? (1991).

Please have "Animal House" as a poll selection! It's a classic that very few people have posted reactions to.
