Mughal-E-Azam (1960) K. Asif made a real masterpiece. All three leads are amazing, Dilip Kumar, Madhubala and Prithviraj Kapoor. Durga Khote is also great. Madhubala is so stunning. The set for Jab Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya is mind blowing. Some sets cost more than whole Hindi films at the time, not to mention the real jewelry. Asif originally wanted to make the film on color, but ran out of money. Great songs and music by Naushad and sung by the nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi. Pakeezah (1970) Pakeezah is also amazing as it was also a passion protect for it's director Kamal Amrohi to make a magnum opus for his wife the great Meena Kumari. The production took so long that the original composer died during production. Amrohi didn't want to update the songs to honor the original composer. It was started in black & white and was shelved because of the marriage of the star and the director fell apart. Fortunately Sunil Dutt and his wife Nargis saw the print and convinced Amrohi and Kumari to finish. Then they started again in color. Unfortunately Kumari was already very sick, would require dance doubles in later scenes and would pass away soon after the films release. Sissi (1955) Sissi and it's two sequels tell the story of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. All three are amazing and directed by Ernst Marischka. Real life story, but heavily romanticized for the screen. You can enjoy the splendor of Afgacolor with the amazing sets, costumes and filming locations. These films catapulted Romy Schneider into a big star. Old school rmance at it's best. The blu-ray release by Film Movement is absolutely stunning. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or as everyone calls it DDLJ is the longest runnig movie in India. It's still running in one movie theater in Mumbai. It cemented one of the most celebreted jodis (duo) in India of the two stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Veer-Zaara (2004) Veer-Zaara is a great film by the master of romance Yash Chopra. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta. In the film they used unused music and songs by the late great Madan Mohan, who had died in 1975. Mohan loved Lata Mangeshkar so they brought her to sing the songs. Lata was 74 years old at the time. Mangeshkar had started her career in playback singing in 1942 and continued till the early 2000s.

Don't recall if she's already seen it, but I'm surprised Before Sunrise (1995) hasn't already been mentioned. Though, I think those 3 "Before" movies work better when you can kind of binge them, which obviously wouldn't happen in this format. Edit: Apparently, this has been mentioned by a couple of people already, so apologies, though I still maintain that they're slightly more effective when they can be consumed as a Trilogy. Obviously, they're still great films on their own.

The Family Man (2000), with Nicholas Cage and Tea Leoni.

The Lucky One (2012) is a great romance drama about an ex-marine who tracks down the woman, whose image from a photograph, saved his life. Heaven Can Wait (1978) is another one that is great, but more of a romance comedy. The Fault In Our Stars (2014) is a beautiful story and will have you reaching for tissues! ❤️
