ROCKY 3 First Time Watching

Comments

I have been dying to watch this. I may actually have time tonight. "Then you lose. But at least you lose with no excuses, no fear. And I know you can live with that." Adrian kills it!

Ames, I KNOW you recognize the guy playing Thunderlips, even if you can't remember where from. That is Jesse "the Body" Ventura. Seal, wrestler, actor, governor. The Movie you saw him in is PREADATOR. He was the guy that was luggin' Ole Painless around that was Mac's best friend. I died laughing when you got so salty with Clubber. I forgot that occasionally let your........displeasure be known with coarse language. You don't seem to be the type ta use it. This is a Wonderful reaction. Please keep 'em coming. Have a wonderful day. This reaction made mine!

Mr. T grew up in the projects in Chicago to a single mother with a family of 12. Like Carl Weathers, he participated in multiple sports in his youth- football, wrestling and martial arts. He was 2x City Wrestling champion in high school and won a college football scholarship, but took a job working for the city of Chicago as a gym instructor for youth programs. He served in the Army as Military Police and later became a bouncer and personal bodyguard to high profile people. Stallone spotted Mr. T doing an interview after winning a "toughman" boxing competition. Between Rocky III, his appearance in WrestleMania and his character on the successful A Team tv series, his popularity awarded him his own Saturday morning cartoon...AND a breakfast cereal!!

Stallone originally wanted to use Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" but they refused. Another song that was pitched was "You're The Best" written by Rocky composer Bill Conti, and performed by Joe Esposito. That was rejected, but later used for The Karate Kid. Stallone got hold of a band he heard from Chicago and asked them to write a song for the film- something with a 'pulse', like the Queen song. Thus, "Eye of the Tiger" was born. The band's founder, Jim Peterik already had several hit songs under his belt- "Vehicle" by the Ides of March, and 3 songs co-written for .38 Special. "Rockin' Into The Night", "Hold On Loosely" and "Caught Up In You".
