Flash! A-ah!Saviour of the UniverseFlash! A-ah!He'll save every one of us

LMAOOOOOOO!!!!

Spoilers 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I had so many actor blunders in this, but I hope they just add to the humor and campiness of the movie! (What I mean by that is I had no idea who they where and what other movies they were in.)😝 This film is such a trip! How can you not love Flash, right? Haha! I’ve seen Ted (2012), but all I remembered was Flash partying in it. I went back to rewatch that scene and had a good laugh. I’d never heard the Flash theme song outside of that moment in Ted, so it was fantastic to hear it for real and connect it to the character!

ENJOY!

WOW... This really brings me back. I must admit I never liked FLASH but think I have a better appreciation for it's campy humor and retro SFX now. The highlight will always be the Queen soundtrack for me..

I am not ashamed to say that I ALWAYS liked this movie. I mean, there may be one or two reasons why I liked it immediately as a kid 🤐

Bill Maurer

Loved it as a kid and must have watched it 30 times when it was on HBO. Just good, ole plain popcorn fun

Bubba Fett

A good fun one, you never just read the title, always here it in your head. That sound track sticks with you.

I’m a Princess Aura guy. Not that there’s anything wrong with Dale Arden, just…..Ginger or Maryanne?

Brian Blessed plays Prince Vultan, he’s a well respected actor in Britain but most people over here know his voice as Boss Nass in Star Wars the Phantom Menace. Timothy Dalton and Max Von Sydow need no introduction but I’ll point out the James Bond link. Dalton was Bond, obviously, for two films. And Von Sydow played Blofeld in Never Say Never Again.

A couple years back my buddy did this charity called St Baldricks, where they shave heads in support of childhood cancer research. He would photoshop anything for anyone who donated. I did so and my request was to be photoshopped in as Flash Gordon. I’ve made it my profile pic. My buddy is Prince Vultan. I am currently bearded and would definitely swap for Vultan.

I saw this movie with my Dad on Father's day in 1980 just before my 9th birthday. He had seen the Flash Gordon movie serials in the 1930's when he was a kid and we both loved this film. The full album soundtrack by Queen is KILLER and I particularly enjoyed Brian Blessed's performance as Vultan. BTW, on the Aura vs. Dale question.....both are smoke shows but I gotta go with Aura :)

I’m relieved you got the cheese and camp of this movie. It was a lot more faithful to the movie serials of the 1930’s than anything else. Colorful, exciting, cheesy and glorious. I love it. Two things. When Vultan was sending in the waves of troops, he was saying ‘dive’ not ‘die’, and Aura was tortured by the ‘bore’ worms, not the ‘ball’ worms. The actress Melody Anderson who plays Dale is Canadian.

I LOVE THIS FILM! First saw it in the late 80s and it blew me away. Always happy to see what people think of it the first time they watch it. This helped shaped the type of movies I watch to just have a good time.

What did I just watch...I don't know but it was pretty sensational. What a horned up cheese fest. I honestly can't believe that exists. I'm glad it does though. It was fun.

I'm a fan of B-horror/Sci-Fi including Rocky Horror Picture Show, cheesy acting, low budget special effects and the original Flash Gordon serials. But for whatever reason I've never liked this movie. (and I WAS a teenage boy when it came out) Maybe because I watched plenty of the original serial as well as Flesh Gordon before this one hit theaters. (I mentioned RHPS because today I learned Richard O'Brien is in this film.) Cheers.

This was a fun one and I am glad I got the song back in the earwig rotation. If you like Timothy Dalton and the pulpy 30's feel, I would recommend the movie The Rocketeer, though I don't believe it was based on a comic book or serials from the 30's and 40's like Flash is.

I'm so happy I finally saw this amazing film. So much campy fun from start to finish. Those two star franchises have nothing on Flash Gordon. Finally I can now proudly say that i have seen Max von Sydow as Ming the Merciless. Such a great villain and loved the last laugh. Always nice to see Timothy Dalton. Brian Blessed was so much fun in this movie. Then there is Tevye himself Topol. Loved his character from the start. No offense to Dale, but Princess Aura WOW. I thought Ornella Muti looked familiar and indeed I had seen her as Mercedes in the 1998 adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo.

Bill Maurer

I saw your head bopping up & down to Queen during the Hawkman attack on War Rocket Ajax !! You were feeling it.

GeorgeReevesSupermanFan

It was enjoyable to watch your reaction to this horrible movie. It was so much worse than I remembered in every way possible.

Samuelllll

Ames if you think this is cheese, check out the original Flash Gordon movie serials from the 30s Lol they're hilarious. Little model spaceships with tin foil and Iguanas with little horns taped to their heads as Ming's dinosaur guards 😆

I saw this is the theater at 15 - loved it then, love it now! I miss the old sci-fi movies/shows from this period - Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Battle Beyond the Stars, The Ice Pirates, The Last Starfighter...too many to name. You're quickly working your way up my favorite list of movies reactors. Keep it up!
