Comments

Henry

Dr. Dolittle with Eddie Murphy

JM63

The Warriors (1979) isn't exactly bad, but it's super-cheesy fun. And it definitely ain't Shakespeare! Masters of the Universe (1987). Haven't seen this, but the trailer looks amazing (or crapulous?) Was on The Ringer's Top 50 Bad Movies list

Jeb Manning

Night of the Lepus to tie in with Easter as well.

Carl Evans

Bound with Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon

Alex Ch

Waterworld

Tom Rufer

- The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984) - Barbarella (1968)

Joe R

There is also Snakes on a Plane.

Bill W

Some people are not understanding the assignment. Some of these movies are just plain bad, while others are actually good or at least fair.

AJ

- Anaconda (1997) - Deep Blue Sea (1999) - The Money Pitt (1986)

Bryan David

- Gymkata (1985) - The Last Dragon (1985) not bad, just cheese.

Catchermag

Species (1995) Troll 2 (1990) Howard the Duck (1986) Ice Pirates (1984) Spies Like Us (1985) Threat Level Midnight (2011) - IYKYK

Michael O'Connor

Batman and Robin, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes 🍅 Ice Pirates. Sword and the Sorceress or the all time 1980s D&D ripoff Hawk the Slayer. (Hawk the Slayer, yeah....Imagine doing Lord of the Rings if you only had $5 dollars. But in the 80s. Yet the story isn't all that bad. But you'll understand when you see it. )

Toc

Arnold Schwarzenegger's first movie, "Hercules In New York". Has to be seen to be believed. HILARIOUS.

Ron

* Scanners (1981) (warning: spoilers in the trailer on IMDB; available on Amazon) * Zardoz (1974; available on Amazon) * Looker (1981; available on Amazon) * Coma (1978; available on Amazon) * Starcrash (1978; available on Amazon, but search on google or IMDB and follow link to "included on Amazon Prime Video") * Message from Space (1978; Japanese; available on Amazon)) * Battle Beyond the Stars (1980; follow links from IMDB) * Laserblast (1978; follow links from google or imdb) * Saturn 3 (1980; available on Amazon) I watched all of these movies and had fun with them. Far and away, I recommend the 1st movie on my list: Scanners -- just avoid the trailer. Scanners will deliver. Promise.

David Bennett

Ames, I would like to contribute a vote for the film Sucker Punch from 2011, with Emily Browning in the lead. It's a little weird and over the top but I still enjoy watching it in spite of the alleged bad-ness.....

AstralCars

I think Cats (2019) is my favorite bad movie. 2nd to The Room

John

Howard the Duck (1986) Throw Momma From the Train (1987) Raw Deal - Arnold Schwarzenegger (1986) Cobra - Sylvester Stallone (1986) The Wraith (1986) The Big Lebowski (1998) Dishonorable mention because it's just ... bad: Low Blow (1986) -Starring Leo Fong -Story by Leo Fong -Screenplay by Leo Fong -Produced by Leo Fong

Alan McCabe

Battlefield Earth (2000). The book was a great read.

Thomas Wetherell

Battlefield Earth (2000) The Core (2003) Atlantic Rim (2013) If Atlantic Rim somehow wins the poll (it won’t) there should be a follow up poll on whether to watch it by itself or watch the MST3K episode mocking it.

Kinokind

Tough call. There are many kinds of "bad" films. Some are big budget failures, others are low budget, but good tries. Some make you cringe (like Plan Nine), others are sincere and charming if technically terrible. Big budget failures like "Howard the Duck" (1986), "Hudson Hawk" (1991) or "Ishtar" (1987) are very different from low budget films that Know what they are and embrace it, like "Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers" (1988), "Frankenhooker" (1990) or "Piranha" (1978). Then there are the ones that are oblivious to how bad they are: "The Room" (2003), "Manos: The Hands of Fate" (1966) or the classic "Plan Nine from Outer Space" (1959). The options are endless. . .

MikeLL

Hudson Hawk with Bruce Willis. Nuff said

Scot J

*The Green Slime (1968) *StarCrash (1978) *Space Mutiny (1988) See a pattern?

Scot J

I’m not suggesting it, but while looking up details on one of my picks, I saw there is a movie called ‘Antfarm Dickhole’. I’m just gonna leave that there.

Murphy

Jaws 4- The Revenge (do not worry if you haven't seen 2 or 3.)

Thoko

Pootie Tang (2001)

Ken Schneyer

Oh, and I think I’d add “Zardoz” (1974)

Christian R

You Don’t Mess With The Zohan (2008)

Justtired

• Grandma’s Boy (2006) • Willy’s Wonderland (2021) • The Wicker Man (2006) Yes, two of these are Nicolas Cage movies. The first two are what I would refer to as “stupid fun”

James Rogers

Foodfight (2012) Theodore Rex (1995) I don't think its available anywhere but it deserves to be mentioned. Woof!

Paul Cox

This might be a silly question to ask a Canadian, but have you seen STRANGE BREW (1983)? If not, we need to remedy this oversight immediately.

Jason Parker

This one was brutal for me. I don’t know if I get the assignment either. But I’d have to say Napoleon Dynamite (2004). Only because the first time I saw it I thought it was the worst movie ever. But then when I saw it “in the right state of mind” now it’s one of my all time favorites. Anyways happy bday and that’s my two cents.

Greg In East TN

The Adventures of Pluto Nash starring Eddie Murphy and Randy Quaid. I like it, but some people don't.

Rev. Elgaroo Brenza

Does "Napoleon Dynamite" (2004) count as "bad-good", or is it just "weird-good".....?!?D or "Meet the Feebles" (1989) "Cannibal! The Musical" (1994) or "Tromeo and Juliet" (1996) .....?!? 😂 People have already mentioned "Cabin Boy", and "Zardoz", along with plenty of other good suggestions..... out of what I haven't seen brought up yet, I would recommend: - Blood Diner (1987) [Horror] - Silent Running (1972) [Sci-Fi]

Patrick

Rad (1986)

Josh Talkington

I’m voting for Cobra. I love it even though it is not top tier Stallone.

Carl Evans

The Hot Chick (2002) a low rated film that had me cracking up.

RX-1

Reefer Madness.

AstralCars

Any film by Neil Breen. Fateful Findings (2013) is the masterpiece though

Ryan Gonzalez

Howard the Duck is top tier awful-good

Ryan Gonzalez

Amazon Women on the Moon is hilarious and the cast is insane. Lots of big names just starting out.

Ryan Gonzalez

Strange Brew - bob and Doug Mackenzie

Mike Tinsley

Street Fighter (1994). My favorite bad movie.

China Andronicus

This doesn’t fit the poll at all but since May Day is coming up, it would be another perfect chance to watch the Wicker Man. Just tossing it out there….

Sonny

Army of Darkness
