It should be fun to see your reaction to this episode! Later... work beckons!

Good reaction, glad you are enjoying these. Jonathan Frakes does actually play the Trombone, yes. These episodes cgi effects were improved and remastered, so the space station looks a lot better than the original release. The Starfleet training that puts the crew on a calm but clear path during emergency situations comes up a lot. Some really REALLY great stuff coming down the pipeline.

So does the number 201 show up at some point during the episode? I wouldn't be surprised, since 11001001 is the number 201 written in binary.

This is one of my favorite TNG episodes! I thought Carolyn McCormick as Minuet was excellent (and stunning)! “What’s a knockout like you doing in a computer-generated gin joint like this?” “Waiting for you.” “You can’t be serious.” “Oh yes, Will. I’ve never been more serious in my life.” What a fun part that must have been to play! I love all the holodeck-related episodes in TNG! They can get so creative! And in this episode we get to see Will Riker play “The Nearness of You” (a jazz standard) on the trombone! 🎵 Jonathan Frakes can really play, but of course a professional musician dubbed the part for the episode. Starbase 74 and the Enterprise itself never looked so good! Definitely a fun episode and great reaction, Ames!

Always be watching Riker's face. Especially if he's reacting to something happening in the scene from the sidelines. Seriously. Always. It's fuckin' amazing.

Great reaction Ames! Another great guest star in this one Carolyn McCormick who played Minuet, went on to play Dr. Olivet “kind of similar sounding name oddly enough” in another of my favorite shows Law & Order. Good catch on the similarity of Picard and Riker working in tandem like the binars. I never got that before. Keep it up this show just gets better and better!

It was great to see you react to this one! This has always been one of my favorites from TNG, from the story to the Starbase scenes to the amazing musical score.
