Which version of Superman II?

Henry Graham

Sullivan's Travels! If this is your first time watching a Preston Sturges film, you are in for a massive treat. His 1940 to 1944 run is one of the great bursts of singular creativity in Hollywood history. He was a master of whip-smart dialogue and breakneck screwball plotting, and though his star shone too briefly in Hollywood, his influence is vast. It's hard to imagine Woody Allen and the Coen brothers having the careers they had without him leading the way. Enjoy!

Always looking forward to the WOW spin....just for that moment when the wheel goes 'round and you just might have a chance! Or someone else's great pick. Also really looking forward to Sullivan's Travels....only saw it once, over the pandemic and have really wanted to see it again. Supe-Baby 2, that should be a fun June Saturday night reaction. :D

Yahoo, Sullivan's Travels! Finally!!

MikeLL

STTNG: Excitement! Superman II: Increased intensity! Sullivan's Travels: Exceeding excitement containment capacity! WOW: Maximum overload of Excitement! Could I win? Not likely, but one can dream, can't one???

Greg In East TN

I hope you do Superman 3!!! That was my Halloween costume one year. If you do it I'll put my Superman 3 picture on the Discord. ;)

Greg In East TN

I've got my fingers crossed for the WOW spin!!!!!

Skin of Evil. The worst episode that pretty much has to be watched.

WastedPo

Yes, I strongly agree with those who say you should watch the normal Lester/theatrical cut of Superman 2. I actually dislike the Donner Cut, as I think it cuts one of the best character moments from the regular cut, and it introduces just as many problems as it tries to "fix." The Donner cut is an interesting curiosity, but I think it should only be watched as a "bonus feature" after you watch the theatrical.

Reggie

I have problems with the Lester version of Superman II, but I would still favor it over the Donner version. The latter has a cringe-inducing resolution at the end.

VivendoBem

Great to see Sturges finally make it onto the channel. Dunno if ST is my fave of his biggies (that would probably be Lady Eve or Morgan's Creek), but it's still an utter delight. Can't wait!

David Crabtree

Please do the theatrical version (real version) of Superman 2! The "Donnor cut" is a hatchet job that deletes some of the best moments from the real film.

RX-1

It's almost the 20th anniversary of the Spielberg War of the Worlds so I kind of hope you do that soon.
