Can't wait! Is there somewhere to add our input on which eps to watch for s2? Is that on discord?

This episode left everybody scratching their head when it aired so having a headache definitely doesn't help lol. Funny you should mention Star Trek 6 since Worf mentioned Khitomer and Michael Dorn played "Colonel Worf". The subplot regarding the time-displaced characters was added at the last minute after the cliffhanger angles to the plot had to be scaled back. The subplot was based on a fan story written by Deborah McIntyre and Mona Clee. The cryonics satellite was identified only as "an ancient capsule" or "space module" in the episode. Both the 'Star Trek Encyclopedia' and the 'Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion' mention that the name SS Birdseye was inscribed on the hull. The topmost segment of the satellite was labeled with the registry or identification number 4077, one of the many references to M*A*S*H (1972). "Birdseye Seafood, Inc." was one of the first brands of frozen food, making the satellite name an inside joke.

Trying to go back to when this came out it was def a good stage setter. Not so much a cliff hanger and a good wrap and get you excited for the next season. Lots of speculation, after the movies and TNG hard not to think klingons, always been the big bads to now, def where I went when watching it the first time.

You’ll definitely see more of the Romulans. Marc Alaimo plays the Romulan at the end, Commanders Tebok. But Star Trek fans know him from Deep Space Nine as Gul Dukat. He’s amazing in that part. DS9 goes deep. It’s definitely one of my favorite Star Trek series.

"This is the 24th century. Material needs no longer exist .... The challenge ... is to improve yourself. To enrich yourself. Enjoy it." --Captain Jean-Luc Picard I always liked the notion in Star Trek of the hopeful future (material needs no longer exist, etc.). I prefer to view that as more likely for humanity than a doomsday scenario. Looking forward to S2. One of the main reasons I became addicted to TNG is Picard.

Low key surprised Ames hasn't yet started to play the game of trying to say space at the same time as Picard during the opening credits theme.

"She does not look well. She looks pretty frozen!"— another entry for the "Ames Classic Quotes" file! This was not one of my favorite episodes, but it had some interesting aspects to it (other than the ridiculousness of the three new arrivals having unrestricted access to the ship and the bridge crew). The Romulan warbird was awesome! ***** SPOILERS BELOW ***** Ames, your confusion about how Dr. Crusher could have revived cryogenically frozen humans who had died is perfectly reasonable. In this day and age, if you thaw a frozen dead body, you have a thawed dead body. In the 24th century, you have advanced medical technology which sometimes allows individuals to be revived after being medically declared dead. Devices like corticostimulators to assist in resuscitation, nanoscale motors and manipulators to repair cellular damage, and gene therapy or tissue regeneration to restore damaged organs and bodily systems. So yeah, they were "dead" for 370 years, then revived. That's a neat trick!

Great reaction Ames! I know I’m late but busy week here too. You were way too hard on yourself. Your “real person” reactions are honestly the best cause that how shit actually is. Not much to add on this ep. Just stay keeping it real! Look forward to season 2!
