I am ready to receive!

Jon Anderson

I have never been to Idaho but I have a zillion cousins there (don't ask; it's a 19th century Mormon polygamy thing). Lots of people think the characters in this movie are weird but I find them very familiar. Make of that what you will.

Wade Wallenstein

I knew you would love this! Napoleon Dynamite reminds me so much of myself in high school in the 90s. I live in South Dakota and life around that time in my area was essentially the same except I was never bullied like he was lol Some trivia: The scene of the farmer shooting the cow in front of the school bus full of children is a true anecdote from director Jared Hess' childhood. A "Napoleon Dynamite" festival was held every year from 2004 to 2008 in Preston, Idaho, the city where the movie was filmed. The festival had contests that included a tater-tot eating contest, football-throwing, look-a-likes, and other types of competition based on scenes from the movie. For Napoleon's dance routine, director Jared Hess had Jon Heder improvise and dance to three different songs. Hess then took the "best" moves from each song and put them in one routine, using one song. Jon Heder credited Tina Majorino (Deb) with helping to choreograph the dance scene. He also states that some of the dance moves were "borrowed" from Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, John Travolta, and Soul Train (1971), as well as some of his own moves.

I knew you would like it! Finally one of my suggestions won the poll 😁

Bummer about the missed end credit, enjoyed your reaction nonetheless.

This might shock you (as its the least likely movie to have this), but there's an extensive post-credit scene on Napoleon Dynamite. I bet everyone would enjoy it if you recorded a separate reaction to that. (You could include it as part of the YT edit as well.)

Such a strange movie but I’ve always loved watching it. Looks like I get to watch it again later on! Can’t wait to see your reaction.

RFK Fan

It’s a LOVE IT OR HATE IT film. I couldn’t get into it 💔

Jon Braum

You missed the end credits!

Brandon Meng

I bought a membership specifically because I saw you were doing a reaction to this movie. A lot of people like it and thought it was funny but you're one of the only people who actually vibed with it, got emotionally invested into the characters while still appreciating the various details of the film. Really appreciate this reaction, maybe my favorite for Napoleon Dynamite! Thank you!

Jason Parker

Thanks Ames! I’ve been so busy lately haven’t got to check in with you much but had to fit this one in! An all timer and you hit exactly on everything I love about it. Hope you get to do Benchwarmers which is another one with Jon Heder who actually plays a similar character but also with David spade and rob schneider and others. Have a good week. See ya soon I hope!
