Picard: Ensign, set course for season 3. Ensign: Course laid in sir. Picard: Engage! Ames: WOOHOO!!!

Janeway knows

Slidding into season three, lulling you into a false sense of security 😉😻

Patrick Stewart's repeated uniform adjustments became known to the cast as the Picard Maneuver. Riker sitting in a chair by throwing his leg over the chair back came to be known as the Riker Maneuver.

Not a bad episode, but upon rewatch, I feel like they took a little too long to get to the nanites. Their evolution, the crisis and resolution could've been explored more.

Kind of a filler episode for me….but I love the excitement you show for even filler….and it may be that it’s not filler for you lol Generally, some of the graphics you’re impressed by were added later for the blu ray remastered versions. What us oldies saw on the first run had rudimentary CGI or matte paintings. But, I like what they did. Pretty seamless to newer generations of viewers.

Nothing gets past Ames, she was onto the fresh uniforms and updated opening credits within a split second. Showing Data like capabilities. Android Ames.

A medium or filler episode that as a start helps develop and provide context for the season. The kind of episode missed when watching only select stellar episodes. I like the production quality compared to S1/S2.

I can't wait to join you on this journey to rewatch TNG! What strikes me is the fact that when this was broadcast, there were no computer tablets and touchscreens were in their infancy! Voice activated computers and 3D printing as well as using ai to invent stories. We don't notice it so much now but this truly did seem like complete science fiction in the 90s!

Love how this season starts off with some great writing with Beverly wanting to connect with her son again after a year apart. The growth for Dr. Stubbs was great as well and the ending with Beverly and Guinan felt like a TOS ending.
