You have the title of the post and your description as The Bad News Bears, but then the reaction is a TNG episode. Which episode is this, btw?

I would love to see a mashup of The Bad News Bears and Star Trek TNG! ;-p Have a great day!

Tough to find a movie that screams 1970's MORE than THE BAD BEWS BEARS. Since I was the same age as the kids in this movie when it came out of course we ALL thought it was hysterical because EVERY kid I knew all played in Little League Baseball. I also have to give a BIG shoutout to this movie for launching the career of one of my favorite character actors Jackie Earle Haley! This movie put him on the map and BREAKING AWAY helped catapult his career which died not long after and was resurrected with such great supporting soles in THE WATCH MAN and LITTLE CHILDREN which should have garnered him an Oscar.

The soundtrack for this movie was genius.

Tatum O'Neal is the youngest ever to win an Oscar for Paper Moon, which she stars in along side her father, Ryan O.Neil. TBNB is only her 2nd film. You would love Paper Moon.

If you like grumpy Walter Matthau, I've got two films for you. Grumpy Old Men (1993) and Grumpier Old Men (1995). Matthau costars with Jack Lemmon and a great cast of 20th century greats (Burgess Meredith, Ann-Margret, Sophia Loren). Great reaction!

Speaking as a member of Generation X, this film really did capture the essence of that time for me. Kids were raised on garden hose water and neglect. We rode in the back of pickup trucks and had roman candles pointed at us. People were blunt and when you lost a competition you lost. If you smarted off to your parents at the grocery store, you got your ass beat. The hairstyles of that time were a bit different too. I was a towheaded blonde with a dutchboy haircut at the time this movie came out. What a charming film. The chemistry of the cast here is fantastic. Thanks Ames, great reaction!

The movie = crude but honest, and with a good performance by Walter Matthau. A funny adult-child comedy film. I too like that turn of events in the final game. I have nostalgia for being 11 in 1974 and playing 3rd base in Little League baseball. We were always taught not to swing at a 3-0 pitch.

This movie never gets old. my friend named his blues band "Chico Bail Bonds" because of this movie. So many great baseball movies. The Natural (1984) Field of Dreams (1989) Bull Durham (1988) Not a lot of hockey movies, I am sure you seen them all lol GO DUCKS!! as far as soccer movies I would recommend "Victory" (1981). I love this one.
